It all depends on what is meant by a successful project. Most of the "successful" projects have lost 99% of their value, are they successful?
I think so, because despite such large losses in price, the projects are still functioning in the market and have good capitalization.

Very well possible for a coin that will initially allow an organic growth without pumping the market value and seeing a free fall, when road maps are been executed and promised fulfilled, people will have more trust to trading the coin with some level of support from the team. 

There will be more pumps in future and price will again rise so now we only should have patience and hold so later on it will increase and the coins in your portfolio will give you good out put.  If the project is safe but the coin is low quality it’s not gonna give you positive result and if the coins are profit worthy but project is scam even then it’s not good so just be safe buy good coins and hold longer

As many says crypto there's a lot of impossible things might happen just like for example those coins who have a very low volume but as time goes by it grows big and also they top on the coin marketcap. A lot of coins goes like this and this is because those old coins has a lot of good investors so it grows big as time passed by especially if that coins is from a good project and the project was handle better by its developer.

everything is possible in the crypto world. it is rare for such to happen again because investors are scared of investing in anything currently. it happens back in the early days of crypto. that is the reason why people are been told to do  their research properly before investing in any crypto project. you don't just expect a new project to raise few days or months. it take years.

Most investors do not really care about the general state of the market or about how a coin in which they are invested is progressing, they only care about the profits, that is why even if a coin in which they invested eventually becomes a scam they will still be satisfied as long as they got profits and they will be mad in the case they invested in the right coin but they sold too soon and got losses.

As you can see investors have a very narrow definition of success and we cannot expect them to change it since most of them are only looking to benefit personally from their investments.

Yes it is possible but the probability is very low,  before we see a lot of altcoins that its price goes to the moon due to FOMO and market manipulation. There will be a time that we will see an altcoins that will create momentum.

nothing is impossible because everything can happen in cryptocurency which has fluctuating properties. it is very difficult for us to determine an altcoin that can last a long time and also an altcoin that will collapse in the near future.. but all this can happen without us knowing.. because there are already so many altcoins that are still able to survive in the huge market competition.. and many altcoins have lost their names in all markets because they cannot maintain their quality in various exchanges.

Bottom line is that this market is very competitive, new projects are coming all the time, old project needs to maintain quality or they will fade away. It is true that coins with low volumes can have high prices and improve, but it is not constant. it happens lets say 1 out of 1000 altcoins.

Bitcoins started with good volume and low price, these conditions are better than low volumes.

The same way it's possible for a coin to decrease in value and not worth much is the same way market can be turned around to favour invested coins such that they grow so much even beyond expectations of the investor. For me? it is still possible to the point like what happened the last couple of years making money with cryptocurrency because of its healthy state, what I mean is that, before we are earning when the market is in the high moment, every token is in the peak in terms of price. As of now, projects are not so good and it is hard to be successful with the condition of the market right now. But we can do one thing and that is to hold our tokens. There are actually different startup because there are coins like starting at the peak then dumping its price and vice versa.

Anything is possible in crypto currency. Some coins start with a very low price and it could amaze us at the end. Personally I also faced this situation. It's almost impossible to guess what will happen tommorow in crypto market. And also beware of the opposite situation where a good priced coin could come to the ground.
