Rant: I am thinking of Quitting my Interest in Crypto Currency

Coinbase Pro recently raised it's fees so high as to block out ordinary traders.  Binance kicked out USA traders.  Bakkt is not going to be too much different as they just keep raising the bar and implementing more rules and regulations, making crypto boring.  Gemini is just a greed machine too, while the people who own Gemini are already ultra ultra wealthy, and they just want to keep becoming more and more greedy.

It is just one thing after another everyday and it is all really boring news too.  Bitcoin is all just a bunch of greediness and politics now a days.  This is not a fun environment anymore.  It is taken over by greedy exchanges that are already rich, and they do not have to be greedy either, but the people who run the shows just sorta stuck on creating this stuff I guess.  It is taken over by people who's entire focus is just being greedy.

The actual cryptocurrency businesses out there that employ people are starting to get overloaded with pointless HR style jobs and soon half the industry will just be grouchy HR people, or grouchy bank people.  Also the crypto businesses all require college degrees, which basically guarantees that less creative people will be in there doing anything interesting.  It will be similar to how college administration departments became over run by tons of interns who are paid to just push paper and it makes college diplomas too expensive for anybody to obtain without going broke and into debt.

I also do not like all of the female-only cryptocurrency conventions and meet ups.  Why are they female-only?  Those are like giant planning committees that are planning to just take over and then add more and more worthless HR jobs into cryptocurrency company structure.  It really sucks.  It is like the whole industry is being taken over by lamo's who really do not have much interest in crypto but they can get jobs related to this stuff, and they can get in on some greedy level making everything unsustainable for everyone else.

At first I thought this post was about getting tired of bitcoin price falls and can't wait for rise but it's a whole different subject of discussion.
Well, OP, everything was amazing, fun and interesting at first, I would call that time era of freebitco because that website introduced me into bitcoins. That time bitcoin wasn't commercial thing like it is now (can't mine at home, a lot of regulations on exchanges, KYC documents everywhere and etc).
That's getting boring but I'm still here because of bitcoin's possibilities, it's just nice payment method and consider this as an investment option too on long term.
If you can, get best it from it and use it for your needs, things get abused as time goes and that's why we have so terrible situation now. Bitcoin was nice when only few people knew it.

Capitalism being capitalism, I guess. Venture capitalists and shareholders put in capital to get a return. Yes, they're being greedy. "Greed is good" was Gordon Gekko's famous line in Wall Street, wasn't it?

I sympathize with what you're saying but this all seems inevitable if Bitcoin is going mainstream. Companies see adoption potential and they want to monetize it. Meanwhile, it's big enough to be on government radars now. I miss the old days too but it's just the way things go.

Sometimes it is better if you take your mind off with all the negativity that's been going around (bakkt disappointment, price going down, FUD, this community etc).

Just take a hike, enjoy your time with your family and friends for about a week and see how it goes for you? Seems that you have devoted so much time in crypto sphere that you are somewhat bored and burn out. Just my .2 sats.

I think you are confused about what a hobby is. A hobby is something you liked not something that you use to make money (like trading or getting a nice job)

In your wall of text you didn't even mentioned the Bitcoin accomplishments, which were enormous: everyone now knows what bitcoin is, more people and stores are accepting it, banks are afraid, it is being used to help people buy things and small investors are buying it worldwide. I too have frustrations as a crypto-enthusiast but this doesn't change my interest and enthusiasm around cryptoverse! Whenever I have time, I try to learn new things like coding and do other things that excites me as well to make my life more stress free and meaningful. I reckon what is happening now in cryptoverse a natural course of its evolution and we can't do anything to avoid it!

As what OP had stated, taking up a new hobby other than submerge himself/herself with crypto stuff would be great and OP should also take a little break, enjoy some other things that excites you most! I think you should give up and take a new hobby, Cryptocurrency is really not for you, just come back when everything is settled up, you can donate your Cryptocurrency to a charity or any one of us here, because if you still have Cryptos to hodl you will from time to time will look on the price and check if you are already rich, so save your worry and get rid of those Coins you have there.

This part caught my attention. I never considered Bitcoin as a hobby, not ever. I am loosing money from it and I am gaining profits from it as well and I don't look at it that way because if I do, I will not take it seriously, I will treat it only as a side thing for my day job and I can't do that, Bitcoin helped me in a lot of ways like financially and emotionally. Almost all of your complaints are generally aimed at what different companies and organisations are doing.  None of it is a fault with crypto itself.

It's only natural that companies are going to engage in rampant profiteering in a relatively nascent field like this.  For now, it's relatively easy for businesses to capture a monopoly at this early stage, but eventually this space will mature a little more and services will be forced to price more competitively.

Your solution is either to deal with better companies, or, preferably, find a way to cut out the middleman and do it yourself.  That's the most interesting part about crypto.  I don't see a gun to your head forcing you to use those services.  Tired of exchanges?  Explore peer-to-peer options.  Don't like the conventions?  Start your own.  It's up to you.  No one is going to hand it to you on a plate, though.  Because, as much as you might complain about these companies, they put some work in to get where they are now.  If you think you can do better, you'll need to do the same.

When there is growth this will be kept under surveillance, and the whales always try to find way to earn out of it in a simple way. This is the major reason for the market. We're into the early days of adoption on the real time businesses, maybe within few years of time this gets to be an alternate mainstream source.

Being one of the forerunners is really fun. A lot of new things crop up, lots of news here and there, lots of issues, controversies and such. But now, yes. Rich people just buy and sell and control the market with their wealth, ignorant people join and feel like they know everything and anything and do things that really degrade the quality of the community. Money was one thing, but feeling the belonging to the community is another. And seeing the community develop into greedy people, of course, those with pure passion towards it would feel bored. Would feel that their time and effort were not worth it anymore. I sometimes feel that way, but I already invested too much in this so it might be a bit too late to go back now.

Not sure if it's a price issue with him - more of a regulation one, especially in his circumstance he's unable to do anything in his country unless he does huge amounts of KYC, it's almost like he's banned from crypto.

If quitting is an answer, then there might be lots of people who will leave Cryptocurrency for their own reasons. We all know that Crypto has its ups and downs. Crypto has been through a lot so I don't think quitting would still be an answer to your agony.
If you're having problems with the rules and requirements such as KYC and other security procedures, you got no choice but to follow and go on with it. It's okay to complain since crypto itself isn't perfect but things would still depend on how we deal with different situations here.
Complaining alone won't help but you should know the next step to take if you're being stuck in a mess.

As far as crypto jobs are concerned you can check the service section here, and offer your services and earn crypto’s for orders you take. Which female meet-ups are you talking about, because there’re many male meet-ups happening locally and all you need to do is search for them.

Gordon Gecko is the least of our worries today.  What is going on now is like what another member just posted saying it is a Corporate Shitshow. Couldn't have said it any better. It is like a bunch of girl power Meetup groups came together and decided to have all these Girl Power Crypto Conventions to be overbearing and make Bitcoin boring and take it over.

What I am really pissed about is how the crypto businesses are going to just hire hundreds of worthless HR people, and HR Assistants, and HR Interns, and ladies who say with that sick grin "I am The Director of HR"...  --Guaranteed to ruin cryptocurrency fun forever.

I feel you are tired of waiting, but maybe I am wrong. But if yes, maybe you need to break for a while, leave the crypto sphere and enjoy your time as the other members said. Sometimes we need to leave from routinely that requires us to be the focus, so after we take a break, we can back with a fresh mind to see the thing that is happening now. If I feel bored with something, I go fishing with my friends, a day or two, leave everything and not talk about what we did before. We only want to release everything for a while and enjoy the time. It helps us to get a new spirit, and when we back to our routine, we can feel better than before.

You're free to do anything you want of course, but fundamentally Bitcoin & cryptocurrency infrastructure is being massively developed by institutions at the moment. CMEs already added futures and working to add other derivatives. It is a proven fact that HR sucks up all the available funds of companies.  Look at what happened to college tuitions and books.  The reason they charge so much coincided with the rise of HR and all the worthless Admins they hire.  HR is a crypto wrecking ball.

You seem too busy concerned about external factors, such as exchanges. Regardless of what the world does, Bitcoin works the same. It is a coin, it's not supposed to be "fun", its just a coin. A better coin, yes, but a coin. It buys things, you can be paid with it, that's it.

Why do you care who has more or who has less? Its been like that in all of human history, and the coin didn't come here to fix that. If you don't exchange you don't have to deal with those "checkpoints".

But, if you think this was only a hobby, you were quite wrong. And it doesn't matter if you get personally involved or not, its here, and its not going.

Just do whatever it is you were doing before learning about Bitcoin, only difference is, prepare to replace whatever fiat coin you were using with it. Leave your belongings to your wallet and have a rest. take a tour and focus on your job.
If you have a family then focus on them. you dont need to quit, you are here and you know that cryptocurrency is the future of the world.

It is just one thing after another everyday and it is all really boring news too.  Bitcoin is all just a bunch of greediness and politics now a days.  This is not a fun environment anymore.  It is taken over by greedy exchanges that are already rich, and they do not have to be greedy either, but the people who run the shows just sorta stuck on creating this stuff I guess.  It is taken over by people who's entire focus is just being greedy.

The actual cryptocurrency businesses out there that employ people are starting to get overloaded with pointless HR style jobs and soon half the industry will just be grouchy HR people, or grouchy bank people.  Also the crypto businesses all require college degrees, which basically guarantees that less creative people will be in there doing anything interesting.  It will be similar to how college administration departments became over run by tons of interns who are paid to just push paper and it makes college diplomas too expensive for anybody to obtain without going broke and into debt.

I also do not like all of the female-only cryptocurrency conventions and meet ups.  Why are they female-only?  Those are like giant planning committees that are planning to just take over and then add more and more worthless HR jobs into cryptocurrency company structure.  It really sucks.  It is like the whole industry is being taken over by lamo's who really do not have much interest in crypto but they can get jobs related to this stuff, and they can get in on some greedy level making everything unsustainable for everyone else.

I read through and the summary of the whole rant is the issue about the people at the helms of affairs at one point or the other. What I can see here is that people are by default capitalist and they would do everything to protect their bottom line. It is then safe to say that we are all ruled by our quest to make more money and even when that has been made, they move on to make much more till the end of time.

Since the issue you have is not bitcoin, then I don't think its enough to quit the cryptosphere. As much as there are pure capitalist to the extreme there are also individuals who believes in charity and doing good to the less privileged even though they are not popular like those other categories it shows there is room for one more person which you can fit in.

Well, OP, everything was amazing, fun and interesting at first, I would call that time era of freebitco because that website introduced me into bitcoins. That time bitcoin wasn't commercial thing like it is now (can't mine at home, a lot of regulations on exchanges, KYC documents everywhere and etc).
That's getting boring but I'm still here because of bitcoin's possibilities, it's just nice payment method and consider this as an investment option too on long term.

I don't find it boring especially with the current volatility. I also don't have much choice since Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are the only way for me to make some money outside a regular job. For me Bitcoin is a future investment since I don't believe in social services in my country. I want to have some money of my own that's not in real estate or other things like cars and valuables. I want some money that I can hide with ease and use if anything goes wrong and that's Bitcoin!
I also want some pocket money every week for little things and that's where signature money comes in.
Every few months I get some additional treat like a Bitcoin-based airdrop or a nice giveaways that I can spend for electronics, car parts, things that make my life fun when I'm not staring at a computer screen. I won't leave just because it is now little more regulated.

No, you can ride them if you want. If we are down sometimes there are a lot of things that came into our minds and one of that is quitting. I still believe in the foundation of proper knowledge.  You can tell the difference between a self taught and those who had undergone a proper education.  The era does not change the fact that education or a place for learning is always needed, whether it is on the internet or at the physical school.  The method maybe changed but school as it is, is still needed to produce a higher quality individual when it comes to academics.  A certificate degree is a proof of completion of course and they are highly acknowledged and often times required by the industry.

I'd like to think as well that college degrees and all of that is useless, but when it comes to get a job, you won't be able to do anything worthwhile unless you have a degree, and the only other options you have would be to work for minimum wage, or start your own business (but that needs capital).

For OP, I think it really depends on where he sees his life going in correlation with crypto-currencies. If he has a fine life and isn't looking to crypto to make a career, or make a lot of money out of, it might be best to take a break until regulations get fairer.

Nothing stays the same, just try to take a break, I had similar feeling and I disconnected from crypto space for one year. Now I am ok and everything is back to normal like it was before. About finding new hobby, I think is a good idea, having different hobbies is very helpful for your health, I personally like soccer and watching TV series and when I face those dark moments and bad feeling, those hobbies help me out. When I loss a trader, a soccer game of my fav team changes my bad mood and make it better, And the opposite  happens when my team loses and price goes in my direction.

Why not start a competing exchange that is lower priced, without all the overhead.  You'd clean up if indeed all this greed is accurate - and you'd easily be able to find investors to fund it if it is just about them being greedy.

Coinbase is a well known exchange and it's kinda sad knowing that they keep on increasing their fees especially if the increase was not influenced by tax or other responsibilities that they need to abide. I don't think he's being greedy at all, when companies raise their fees so high so that ordinary traders are literally unable to profit of the exchange, it's not them getting greedy, it's the company shutting down an entire market.

I think that OP is more of an investor than a cryptocurrency user, because when it comes to using cryptocurrency for payments, I don't think that we have been disappointed in anyway, transaction have never failed except maybe we transfer to the wrong address, and even in the aspect of fee, it is much more better than using wire transfer which you would almost pay 20 percent of the amount you are seeing, the only challenge is the scalability and transaction speed which I know with time will improve.

Well, OP, everything was amazing, fun and interesting at first, I would call that time era of freebitco because that website introduced me into bitcoins. I don't know about that, since it isn't like women are the minority of the population.  Maybe in the world of cryptocurrency they are, but not in the real world.  Anyway, women empowerment has been all the rage for a few years now so I wouldn't let that frustrate you.  More women in crypto would be a good thing in my opinion.

I don’t think making use of exchanges is as difficult as we think, the one that many people want which would have proved kind of difficult is the binance exchange and they have already created a separate platform for them which is being recognized by the united states citizen and I think that there are still some other exchanges like Coinbase and kucoin which the united states citizens are using which I think is okay once these ones are available to them.

This means we can experience different forms of trade fluctuations which get us profit as well as loss. Upon the same we need to be more careful in handling each and every trade process. There is nothing instant with everything, we cannot really have everything that we want, sometimes, it takes a lot of patience before we can get the things we need and we prayed. This stuff is getting boring.

Coinbase Pro recently raised it's fees so high as to block out ordinary traders.  Binance kicked out USA traders.  Bakkt is not going to be too much different as they just keep raising the bar and implementing more rules and regulations, making crypto boring.  Gemini is just a greed machine too, while the people who own Gemini are already ultra ultra wealthy, and they just want to keep becoming more and more greedy.

It is just one thing after another everyday and it is all really boring news too.  Bitcoin is all just a bunch of greediness and politics now a days.  This is not a fun environment anymore.  It is taken over by greedy exchanges that are already rich, and they do not have to be greedy either, but the people who run the shows just sorta stuck on creating this stuff I guess.  It is taken over by people who's entire focus is just being greedy.

The actual cryptocurrency businesses out there that employ people are starting to get overloaded with pointless HR style jobs and soon half the industry will just be grouchy HR people, or grouchy bank people.  Also the crypto businesses all require college degrees, which basically guarantees that less creative people will be in there doing anything interesting.  It will be similar to how college administration departments became over run by tons of interns who are paid to just push paper and it makes college diplomas too expensive for anybody to obtain without going broke and into debt.

I also do not like all of the female-only cryptocurrency conventions and meet ups.  Why are they female-only?  Those are like giant planning committees that are planning to just take over and then add more and more worthless HR jobs into cryptocurrency company structure.  It really sucks.  It is like the whole industry is being taken over by lamo's who really do not have much interest in crypto but they can get jobs related to this stuff, and they can get in on some greedy level making everything unsustainable for everyone else.

Interesting.  There is negativity in the whole community too.  Try talking to anybody about your entrepreneurship concepts and everybody just throws mud on it like a bunch of Negative Ninnys.

End of rant.  I am thinking of taking up a new hobby.

It seems you have been into a lot of things here in Cryptocurrency, you have a good observation power, and you have note all the negative things about Cryptocurrency it's people and those part of the industry, it's ok to have a rant but have you weigh everything the good and the bad aspects for you to decide to leave Cryptocurrency, you can go and take a  time out for a month of two so you can feel better

Cryptocurrencies is decentralized indeed  however, it seems government or people who have authority and rich people who owns exchanges are limiting the usage of this technology so basically they are more likely indirectly manipulating the market. However, this will not be an enough reason for me to quit crypto industry but rather I will take this as a challenge and try to overcome this issues. Just be optimistic or believe for the uptrend to come and perhaps that would take away your boredom towards crypto.
