Rant: I am thinking of Quitting my Interest in Crypto Currency

Coinbase Pro recently raised it's fees so high as to block out ordinary traders.  Binance kicked out USA traders.  Bakkt is not going to be too much different as they just keep raising the bar and implementing more rules and regulations, making crypto boring.  Gemini is just a greed machine too, while the people who own Gemini are already ultra ultra wealthy, and they just want to keep becoming more and more greedy.

All the business that started in the bitcoin market are done to make money and none of them care about the true value and vision of Satoshi. Majority of the early bitcoiners are also blind sided when money started pouring in and even they are not following the true vision and i wish to see true bitcoiners starting these exchanges which could really stand for the people and conduct a fair business.
Even i started early and used to mine but then lost interest as the scams started pouring into the market and there is nothing we could do to counter that. All we need is a fair market without any scams and if the early investors could join and come up with projects that could improve the market scene that would be really great to develop the market.

Sometimes it is better if you take your mind off with all the negativity that's been going around (bakkt disappointment, price going down, FUD, this community etc).

Just take a hike, enjoy your time with your family and friends for about a week and see how it goes for you? Seems that you have devoted so much time in crypto sphere that you are somewhat bored and burn out. Just my .2 sats.

Quitting is not answer of your boredom and lost of interest. Take time to rest and live crypto world for a while, it makes you tired staring on the situation that was not change but become worse as you stay on it. Take a break and enjoy the outside world. There is a best time for crypto which anyone that wait to come. Enjoy what your doing but do not let it be your only world.

It is just one thing after another everyday and it is all really boring news too.  Bitcoin is all just a bunch of greediness and politics now a days.  This is not a fun environment anymore.  It is taken over by greedy exchanges that are already rich, and they do not have to be greedy either, but the people who run the shows just sorta stuck on creating this stuff I guess.  It is taken over by people who's entire focus is just being greedy.

The actual cryptocurrency businesses out there that employ people are starting to get overloaded with pointless HR style jobs and soon half the industry will just be grouchy HR people, or grouchy bank people.  Also the crypto businesses all require college degrees, which basically guarantees that less creative people will be in there doing anything interesting.  It will be similar to how college administration departments became over run by tons of interns who are paid to just push paper and it makes college diplomas too expensive for anybody to obtain without going broke and into debt.

I also do not like all of the female-only cryptocurrency conventions and meet ups.  Why are they female-only?  Those are like giant planning committees that are planning to just take over and then add more and more worthless HR jobs into cryptocurrency company structure.  It really sucks.  It is like the whole industry is being taken over by lamo's who really do not have much interest in crypto but they can get jobs related to this stuff, and they can get in on some greedy level making everything unsustainable for everyone else.

Interesting.  There is negativity in the whole community too.  Try talking to anybody about your entrepreneurship concepts and everybody just throws mud on it like a bunch of Negative Ninnys.

All those companies you mentioned don't represent Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. They are just trying to make money out of this market.

In todays age there is no need for collage degrees. Those are scams. You can learn almost all if not all of what you need online for free. It is the technology age so there is so much info out there that there is really no excuse.

Tell that to the company owner .  They are the one who are setting guidelines on who are accepted or not.

I still believe in the foundation of proper knowledge.  You can tell the difference between a self taught and those who had undergone a proper education.  The era does not change the fact that education or a place for learning is always needed, whether it is on the internet or at the physical school.  The method maybe changed but school as it is, is still needed to produce a higher quality individual when it comes to academics.  A certificate degree is a proof of completion of course and they are highly acknowledged and often times required by the industry.

I don't think you should quit. You should never quit. There is crypto to be made and spend and career paths to be followed and discovered.

I believe he already had an aimed career but was hindered by the guidelines made by the company.  That is why he was frustrated reason for the rant.

I'd like to think as well that college degrees and all of that is useless, but when it comes to get a job, you won't be able to do anything worthwhile unless you have a degree, and the only other options you have would be to work for minimum wage, or start your own business (but that needs capital).

For OP, I think it really depends on where he sees his life going in correlation with crypto-currencies. If he has a fine life and isn't looking to crypto to make a career, or make a lot of money out of, it might be best to take a break until regulations get fairer.

But OP never sees a crypto is a pleasant place. It is actually he becomes in troubled right now, he is really disappointed that Coinbase and Gemini increase with ther fees while his money stuck out there. It supposedly he wants to trade with them but getting mad when there is a huge change with.

Nothing stays the same, just try to take a break, I had similar feeling and I disconnected from crypto space for one year. Now I am ok and everything is back to normal like it was before. About finding new hobby, I think is a good idea, having different hobbies is very helpful for your health, I personally like soccer and watching TV series and when I face those dark moments and bad feeling, those hobbies help me out. When I loss a trader, a soccer game of my fav team changes my bad mood and make it better, And the opposite  happens when my team loses and price goes in my direction.

I believe everyone comes to this point. I understand your feeling but i strongly suggest to just take a rest and don’t quit what you had started. Why not start a competing exchange that is lower priced, without all the overhead.  You'd clean up if indeed all this greed is accurate - and you'd easily be able to find investors to fund it if it is just about them being greedy.

I agree about extraneous overhead in colleges etc, perhaps here too, but that just means opportunity to do it better and cheaper.

Indeed, there are times when we lose our hope in something we do. We have this feeling where it seems like this is not for us and we will not achieve anything from it.

You have the freedom to do what you want to do, if you are not profiting from crypto industry then it will be best that you just quit or change your style.

Coinbase is a well known exchange and it's kinda sad knowing that they keep on increasing their fees especially if the increase was not influenced by tax or other responsibilities that they need to abide. As what I have heard with Binance, I thought they are creating a platform that is exclusive for US traders so I am wondering if it didn't work well as you said that they are kicking your ass in their exchange.

Don't quit that easily. Your disappointments are clearly not in crypto itself but in the people, the community, and the current system. If you will quit right away just because of that, then for sure you might regret it in the long run. That's why taking a break will surely help a ton. It's evident, based on your rants, how you spend so much time concerning about crypto. Looking for other hobbies and resting for the meantime will help you to have a new perspective in life. it is not rant, it is complaining about things that are not even related to bitcoin! if you are unsatisfied with exchanges, their fees, regulation,... you are not complaining about bitcoin. you are complaining about a company that is offering certain services about bitcoin. and not to mention that their rules only affect day traders not regular bitcoin users!!! and bitcoin is not meant to be traded, it is meant to be used as a currency so maybe your views are misguided.

If you think so, why don't you make the same thing as their "marketplace" and make it a different perspective from them. Show everyone that your current outlook changes because of what you make. I think about changing people's perspectives is very fun for looking hobbies.
I completely agree with your rant way of expressing how greedy they are, but in my opinion only expressing the conversation will not completely change the situation, it's okay to look for other hobbies.

If you want to stop in digital currency because you are bored with bitcoin now is weakening and at the end of this month, or other increases in fees in digital currencies, I think that is a big loss for you, I used to feel bored and I stopped using currency digital because bitcoin was very weak last year and when bitcoin went up again, I was very disappointed why I had to stop in the world of crypto currency in the past.
