You know how this is going to end. You might be trying to lie to yourself, you might be secretly hoping that some token in your "portfolio" that you have 10 million of is going to moon to $50 and make you rich, but let's be real: that is not going to happen. Even the allegedly strong altcoins like LTC or ETH or whatever is cool these days (I've been out of this game for a while) are not doing well and BTC dominance is growing. Which makes sense if you think about it. BTC can do most of what any altcoin can do and the few really useful features that BTC is missing (private transactions for example) are implemented by multiple altcoins, fragmenting their market share.
And the elephant in the room: 99% of altcoins are total garbage. They're called shitcoins for a reason.
Sell your altcoins and tokens. Take the proceeds in BTC, stick it into a cold wallet, keep some online to play around with Lightning and other things that actually matter for real-life stuff, like being able to buy something. When was the last time you were able to use for example Ethereum for something tangible, not to buy some garbage tokens or to play a game?
Do it today. Your grandkids will thank you.
Yes it is true, surely many of us all hope that the coins we have can make a profit later, whether that's when. But we also do not know whether this will happen or not because it is only our hope due to current market conditions that can be said from day to day is declining. And as you said that BTC dominates more and it is better to sell altcoin that we have to invest into BTC rather than into altcoin.

Hello! I agree with the author. I stopped believing in the summer. And all that could be completely sold. Most in dollars and small in BTC. And I do not regret anything, watching us go down. For now, just watching.
You do not improve your ability to trade properly. You are just waiting for the market to increase the value of your altcoin. You have never tried to increase the value of your assets by trading under any circumstances. even in a small pump, we can benefit if we realize the potential of the movement of assets we have.

I will sell altcoins and tokens today. I don't want to lose any more. Now I will choose a better investment direction.

How many of you guys have listened to OP advice? i hope you don't, the little recovery that happened yesterday makes all altcoins turned greenish on coinmarketcap, the fact is crypto will remain unpredictable so better hold on to your precious altcoins and be brave
Let me see if I get this right, you want people to keep holding their altcoins just because there was a very small recovery during the previous days and you want them to ignore the huge crash that most altcoins in general have been suffering for years? There are a few altcoins that have a future and I find it reasonable for people to take the risk to hold those coins, but for the rest of thousands of altcoins out there there is no future, so you should not buy them and if you already did then sell them and forget about it.

Hodling altcoins is good and someone can be very lucky to be rich that way just as we saw etheruem and litecoin in 2017 making a strong bull and hitting their ATH. But shitcoins won't do that especially as many have been abandoned if you check through coinexchange.

That's right. I also sell my tokens, which are now worth at least something. Because few altcoins will be able to survive in the future. Almost all of them have no prospects.

If that ever happens again, you will have lost most of your money before then. You're forgetting how brutal the 2015-2016 bear season was. This one is going to be worse because there are so many more worthless shitcoins and so many more people who put money into them for the wrong reasons.

It is true that Ethereum and Litecoin went up by more than 100x in 2017 (compared to 20x for Bitcoin). But these coins have also lost a large part of their market cap during the next two years (2018-19). Ethereum used to have a market capitalization of $135 billion two years back. Now that has come down to $16 billion (it was less than $9 billion a few months back). Litecoin has fared even worse. Still, I have to say that these coins have managed to survive somehow. Many of the smaller coins and tokens have vanished without a trace.

This is an absolutely great idea to convert all shitcoins into Bitcoin and Ethereum. But people take risks by investing in altcoins because sometimes it gives you a huge profit that even bitcoin can't. So, without taking the risk, your profit will be very limited, and investing in bitcoin also has tension or frustration sometimes.

I dont think selling is a nice idea now. Especially when the market is almost in bottom. Good time will soon come for exiting all portfolio positions. Then reap the benefits.

I did some calculations recently. In the last 5-6 years there was only a relatively short period of time when it was worth buying (or not selling) altcoins versus bitcoin and that was mainly because ETH was below $1 in 2015. The chance that we are in a similar position now is very small and that you are holding the next Ethereum - even smaller.

Am in agreement with your opinion, altcoin has brought great frustration to me personally. Its true that majority of altcoin are potentially shit coin, most times the developers are interested in their pockets and end up dumping the coin on the community after a while. I would consider exchanging my altcoin for Bitcoin, because its only bitcoin that can guarantee a long-term useful life.

I am afraid to follow this. You would be surprised to know that I tired to do. But whenever I go with, that parts sink me. If I go with Btc, it’s dumped, when I sell to buy alts, Btc pumped. So, still holding. I don’t know what is waiting for me in next year. So, how can I be stress free man?

Do you remember 2018? Because it seems you do not, after the big bubble that we were experiencing the price of all coins crashed and then we had a bear market that lasted for more than a year, an altcoin season could happen but there are many negative factors against it, the trust investors had in altcoins is gone and with the huge number of scammers in the market it does not seem like it is going to return any time soon and if that does not happen then you could forget about an altcoin season happening soon.

I still believe that Ethereum prices will rise again. although not anytime soon. so I was never afraid so I had to sell altcoin that I have now. so my advice, please study and observe every growth in altcoin that you have so you don't have to be afraid of losing your money. because not all altcoins have the same fate.

Just stick to the major coin for a better investment but when you are wanna speculating the crypto market and you can go with credits for the better future. Just hold it because the whales is manipulating the market. i have seen so many stories like you dude.

It may rise again. It may not. It's a gamble. Ethereum has a solid team but they also have huge technical issues like scalability. If something better comes along and solves those issues then Ethereum may not recover even if they do everything right. There are too many unpredictable variables to call it anything else than a bet or a gamble. Since the start of this thread ETH declined by ~25% against USD and ~16% against BTC.

Why are talking about the frustration? People know why they invested into altcoins, or not? Yes, we found the reason: they really do not understand altcoins, they skipped the phase of learning and now they do not know why they still hold altcoins. You invested because you bet on the future use. Nothing else.

You invested because you bet on the future use. Nothing else. Probably because they stick too much too Bitcoin that's why they're having the same perspective once they get into altcoins. Although all of those coins might act like Bitcoin, the terms of usability and price is majorly different. Even if I stick to Bitcoin for almost 3 years, I still tried to study about the other altcoins on how do they use the blockchain. What are smart contracts, etc?
