Why Hotels Need IoT

IoT remains a mystery as very few people can imagine their fridge sending a reminder to their smartphone to buy some milk.

However, IoT is a much more ambitious technology that is used in a wide range of fields, including the hospitality industry.

You can already find the so-called “IoT-enabled” rooms in some hotels. In these rooms, guests have almost complete control over most devices through their smartphones. An app grants them control over the air conditioning, lighting, TV, elevator systems and even lets them message and call the front desk 24/7.

For example, an American hotel chain The Peninsula Chicago has a unique tablet for controlling the rooms; another example is how by 2017 Wynn Las Vegas had equipped over 4500 rooms with digital assistants, for some of which they used Amazon Alexa.

One of the main goals of the hotel is to achieve high client satisfaction levels. By tapping into the power of IoT, hoteliers can expand their list of services:

-Forming a personal offer at the reception

-Providing tailored information services based on facial recognition technology

But IoT can offer much more than that. Thanks to comprehensive automation and centralization of control, hotel managers can achieve more flexibility in operating utility systems, avoid wasteful use of resources and observe timely equipment maintenance schedules.

For example, when implemented, IoT systems allow saving money on electricity thanks to automated lighting systems (with the sensor or scheduled switches) and automated heating systems.

With that said, such IoT solutions can be augmented with analytical tools that can measure and compare operation data with other hotels, especially when it comes to a hotel chain. Imagine the efficiency gains and how many resources businesses can save using these kinds of solutions!

Life After Pandemic..?

People won’t stop travelling, the tourism business and the hospitality industry will remain in demand. The market will belong to those who have the stamina to stay afloat, and after the crisis is over, they will be even stronger than before.

However, the economic strain will dictate the distribution of demand, and the cheapest possible tours and hotels will be the most sought-after. People will try to stretch their travel dollar as much as possible with shorter and more accessible trips and accommodation.

Another likely consequence of the crisis is the attention to health safety and the epidemiological situation.

Public gathering places – airports and railway stations – in Europe and the US will make wearing masks mandatory, as it has been for a long time in Asian countries. Travellers will have to wash their hands more often and use antiseptic wipes.

World Tourism Forum Institute President Bulut Bağcı believes that after the pandemic, all-you-can-eat style food service will become less popular since it’s not up to par with health safety standards. Besides, hoteliers will have to disinfect every room after each guest and pay more attention to hygiene and cleanliness.

We think that just as every previous crisis, the current one will amplify and bring forward the trends that have already been budding for quite some time. Among them are digitalization and uberization. Mass tourism will become more individualized; people will shift more of their travel planning activities to the online realm and build their experiences like Lego.

Digitalization will become paramount to the industry after the pandemic is over. Time will tell how hoteliers will deal with that.

World Hotels Against COVID19

Hoteliers continue looking for ways to escape the crisis: pouring more resources into online activities and social initiatives that bolster some optimism about the future.

During the pandemic, hotels from around the world offer their rooms to healthcare workers, but that’s not the only new initiative. Here is some of them:

International hotel group Accor has teamed up with Bureau Veritas to develop a new quality standard. It will be used to rate hotels on such aspects as hospitality, catering and health safety. Such a standard will help hotels and restaurants come back to work, and their guests – be sure that all the necessary safety precautions and measures have been taken.

The Amalfi coast hotels in Italy have launched a relief effort in support of vaccine research centres.

Santa Caterina hotel offers a 5000 Eur voucher that can be redeemed for two years after the pandemic. It can be used to pay for the stay or restaurants at Michelin-starred hotels.

For virtual travellers, Rocco Forte Hotels have made a guide to the most exciting exhibitions and world-famous museum collections such as the
Louvre, the British Museum in London and the Vatican Museum. Rocco Forte Hotels offer their future guests flexible booking that allows them to reschedule their booking made before August of this year until March 2021.

Besides rescheduling, guests will also be able to change hotels and even countries of stay. Another initiative by Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, titled #StayHomeWithJumeirah will help spend some quality time at home. You will find advice on fitness and yoga, games and learning games for children, as well as cooking recipes from world-famous chefs.

Is There Light At The End Of The Tunnel?

We have analyzed the existing situation and come to the following conclusion: should the coronavirus outbreak cease before 1 July, there is a chance that the global quarantine measures will be gradually lifted, the external and internal borders will open and the tourist flow will recover. Thus hoteliers will be able to accommodate domestic guests at the height of the summer season and win over foreign guests with various special offers. If everything comes together nicely, the hospitality market will get to break-even before next June.

Should the pessimistic scenario play out, the borders between most countries will remain closed until September. It can work for the tourism sector within each separate country – domestic routes will be in bigger favour.

These days it’s essential for every hotel to find the lifeline that will allow them to stay afloat. In our turn, we offer a next-generation HMS – ModiHost.

Why now? It’s simple: hotels need optimization now more than ever. The system we have developed utilizes AI, Machine Learning and Cognitive Computing: the latest technologies that will show you both strengths and weaknesses of your business. Our policy does an in-depth analysis of all processes, from electricity consumption to visitation records and staff performance.

The main thing is: we know how significant saving is at a time of crisis, so with HMS ModiHost, you only pay for the options you use!

The AI-driven solution will create a smarter system

ModiHost is working with a professional development team that will deliver all AI-related features. The HMS will use big data modelling to convert the vast amounts of data created by the hospitality industry into actionable insights which can be implemented via AI. The specially developed ModiHost AI will use past data to predict the wants and needs of hotel guests to optimize upsales.

Beyond simply re-offering additional services that guests have previously purchased, hotels can use ModiHost’s AI to offer enticing discounts on those services at key times, deliver special packages, and sweeten the deal with just the right amount of complimentary services. To make this a reality, the ModiHost HMS uses cognitive computing algorithms for conditional decision making. For instance, where a guest elects to share their travel information, ModiHost’s AI will offer to assist in arranging transport to/from the airport or station. The system will automatically book a vetted taxi service that provides the best price and is available at the time of travel.

ModiHost will continuously monitor the guest’s travel information to ensure that any necessary changes in travel arrangements are made automatically. Where a guest orders an in-room movie, the ModiHost HMS will offer food and drink options in line with their recorded dining preferences.

Information can be drawn from the guest’s in-hotel dining, dining records at other hotels within the ecosystem, restaurant booking preferences and any information that the guest elects to provide ModiHost. For this reason, it is expected that the implementation of AI will significantly raise upsales. ModiHost also provides live dynamic price adjustments for online bookings.

The system will monitor the price-per-room of similar hotels in the local area and ensure that rooms at the hotel in question are consistently priced competitively. The cost of each room will be made to correlate with scarcity.

Where most rooms in the local area are booked, the system will automatically increase the cost of the booking. Where bookings are down, the system will begin pricing rooms at discounted rates to encourage bookings. Automation will also prevent overbookings and double bookings, thus averting costly mistakes.

AI will also be utilized to automate the staff training process. This will ensure that every new hire gets the necessary training they need in accordance with their strengths and weaknesses while negating the need for existing staff to act as mentors. As well as being more efficient, this method of training will be delivered at a fraction of the cost of traditional staff training methods.

Take Care Of Your Guests — Or Someone Else Will

Caring about your guests starts with a thought: who are they, what do they want and how to make them happy.

On the one hand, hotel staff have to be magicians who make dreams come true, on the other – it’s still a commercial enterprise, and the end goal is making money by providing services. Your loyal guests will stay with you, and your business will overcome every crisis, no matter how grim, becoming even more robust than ever! ModiHost will happily oblige in making that scenario a reality with our next-generation HMS for your business that will help you make every guest feel special. How does our system do that? Here’s how!

User engagement-based algorithm optimization

ModiHost will optimize the performance of its AI across the board by evaluating the performance of each algorithm in terms of user engagement.

For example:

ModiHost’s recommender system sends a guest a recommendation for a particular movie at 8 pm.

The AI monitors whether or not the guest reads the recommendation.
If the recommendation is read, the time of reading is recorded.

This information is used to optimize the timing of future notifications for guests with similar interests.

When the guest watches the recommended movie, it is assumed that the algorithm is optimized and no action needs to be taken.

Where the guest does not watch the recommended movie, the amendment of the algorithm is triggered.

The AI re-evaluates the factors that informed that particular recommendation, analyzes any data captured on what the guest chose to do instead of watching the recommended movie, cross references this with information on the guest and any relevant contextual factors (e.g there was a large event on in the city that the guest chose to attend instead of staying at the hotel) and alters its recommendation process accordingly.

Hong Kong Hotelier Hiring Amid Pandemic

Some more exciting world news today. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hotel owners across the world are furloughing and laying off employees.

However, one hotel operator in China has been doing the opposite, hiring Genie – an artificial intelligence robot.
He is one of the three smart machines of his kind to be employed in the hospitality industry. The robot can deliver food to over 400 rooms of the hotel, minimizing human contact.

Every day this unusual employee can have from 130 to 150 orders. The robot cost over $100,000 US.

Genie is prepared for each mission by a human – the parcel is loaded into the container inside the robot and then the destination room number is put into the system. The robot takes it from there: calls the elevator, finds the room, notifies the guest and waits for them to pick up their order. After each visit, the “employee” is decontaminated.

It is forecast that the contactless guest service will become the megatrend of the next five years.

How will hotels change after the pandemic: 3 trends in the hospitality industry

We have separated the main hotel trends into blocks, each of which corresponds to a group of trends. Naturally, as we’re offering the next-generation HMS system, we have put Digitalization at the top of the list, but there is more solid reasoning to it.

1. Digitalization

Services that allow contactless hotel services will end up on top. Smart locks, mirrors, monitors – all of that will become paramount to a quality hotel experience. VR and AR technologies will be employed to improve the experience even further. Affluent guests are no longer surprised by the so-called custom-tailored service. This is why high tech can help such guests feel ahead of the curve.

2. Environmentally acceptable comfort

Hotels have been striving to become more eco-friendly in terms of laundry, plastics, drinking straws and water bottles. A more reasonable approach to disposable items is a trend that hoteliers must consider to survive in the new reality.

3. New age design

Every hotel space must produce a specific effect on the guest, making them feel at home everywhere in the hotel. The areas should be designed to provide multiple places for solitude, as opposed to the traditional design where public spaces were in favour. It’s most likely that after the pandemic is over, safety and hygiene will become the main requirements for hotel spaces.

Hospitality Industry Starts Recovering

Once again, we bring you the world hospitality industry news. This time it’s good news at last! Several countries have already announced the relaxation of lockdown measures and the opening of hotels.

Spain and Greece have announced their readiness to open borders and start receiving international tourists on July 1. In its turn, Croatia welcomes tourists beginning June 15! Croatian hotels have come back to work. Currently, there are 133 hotels open in the country.

According to the Croatian Tourism Association, the country is looking at a positive epidemiological situation that is among the most favourable in Europe. The authorities are betting on a quick launch of international tourism.

Having received the status of a coronavirus-free country, Montenegro will open its borders for tourists early June. Initially, only citizens of the countries with a favourable epidemiological situation will be allowed in. However, they won’t be required to provide medical clearance.

Among the first countries whose citizens Montenegro will let in are Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Greece, Albania and Slovenia.

Montenegro has rejected the idea of testing all visitors for coronavirus the way it was proposed, for instance, in Turkey. The hotels in the country are already operational.

On the other hand, the Cuban authorities do not intend to impose mandatory quarantine for tourists entering the country. However, the Tourism Advisor to the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, Juan Carlos Escalona has not yet announced the opening date of the season but noted that Cuba is ready to welcome tourists.

We are looking forward to receiving similar news from other countries!

How Will Hospitality Industry Look Post-Pandemic?

There is no doubt that we have been home for too long now, and can’t wait for the borders to open back up to travel again or go on business trips. Today we want to reflect on the topic: how will the hospitality industry look after the pandemic.

The way things are now

There is virtually no tourism right now. Although in some places you can feel the thaw. In the Czech Republic, virtually all restrictions have already been lifted; hotels and airlines are coming back to work. Turkey is also actively preparing for the start of the tourist season, which they plan to kickstart in June.

However, we believe it’s too early to make any real forecasts.

New screening requirements

After September 11, all airports in the world introduced stringent requirements such as thorough search, ban on manicure accessories and liquids on board. This was something unprecedented for people.

Nevertheless, all airports in the world had to adopt the new rules. In connection with the pandemic, changes are also expected in the near future. Quite possibly we’ll see quick tests for infection.

Should we expect price spikes after the pandemic?

It seems that price increases cannot be avoided. Hotel requirements have become stricter. For instance, some hotels, no rooms next to each other can be occupied, effectively cutting the hotel capacity in half. Should anyone get sick, they placed under medical observation. The question is: how much should all of that cost? There is no answer yet.

Can countries keep their borders closed in 2020?

Each country acts differently depending on the situation. There are two camps: those that weren’t very affected by the coronavirus, and those that have much suffered. Both camps are afraid of each other. Nonetheless, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Turkey and Spain have announced that they would open their borders shortly. Naturally, with stringent safety measures in place. Where the rest of the countries stand is still unknown.

Where will people fly when the lockdown is over?

It’s only natural to expect a surge in booking after the borders open. It’s important to understand that it is domestic tourism that will be the first to recover in most countries, which is not bad at all.

Asian Hotelier Experience

We may have found ourselves at the epicentre of this crisis and are now only learning to navigate our way through this, but there are those who have already gone through a similar situation. Let us turn to their experience in the hospitality industry.

“The Asia-Pacific Region (APR) learned a lot from the experience of the SARS epidemic in 2002. That’s why most hoteliers already had a plan for such a challenge”, said Sheryl Kimes, a professor of operations management in the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, USA.

Sheryl has interviewed over 500 hoteliers around the world. Her research showed that the actions of hoteliers in the Asia-Pacific region over the past few months are generally different from the measures taken by their colleagues in other countries. On average, hoteliers in the West are more likely to lower rates to stimulate demand, while hoteliers from Asia prefer a different approach.

For example, about half of hotel owners in the APR have introduced "improved service", in contrast with only a third in Europe. To stop guests from cancelling their booking, they offered the ability to rebook to a later date at a good discount for one year or provided a free transfer from the airport in a well-disinfected car.

Another example is Singapore, where the panic was taken under control because hoteliers already had a game plan.

Hotel owners in the APR are much more likely to focus on promotions for new, unusual audiences. And they do their best to encourage regular guests and those who could potentially become their clientele.

It seems that our Asian colleagues have a thing or two to teach the rest of the world Smiley

Time to change

The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on all parts of the economy, especially the hospitality industry. However, hotel owners can take advantage of this pause in business. We decided to look into the ways hoteliers can benefit from the current crisis.

Hotels are forcibly put on extended hold, and this is an opportune time to transform the inner mechanisms of the business. In a lot of countries hotel buildings are often those that could use a major renovation, some have needed it for decades while for some just a little modernization is more than enough. When there are no guests to worry about, renovation can become something to redirect your resources towards, mainly because such efforts would typically take from six to ten months.

If you decide to renovate your hotel during the quarantine, you will avoid the usual difficulties such an undertaking would entail in a functioning hotel with guests around. When the pandemic is finally over, you will re-enter the market with a refreshed product that makes you stand out from your competition.

Domestic tourism on the rise

Yes, we have talked about it more than once, but in the current crisis, more people turn to domestic destinations instead of their usual Mediterranean resorts. This presents an opportunity to provide a great offer to this category of travellers – it will land you in a favourable spot in the coming months.

Solitude

Think through the ways of providing contactless and secluded accommodation options. This is becoming more relevant than ever. Guests will prefer hotels that are built around the principle of least contact with staff and other guests but still get premium service. We forecast that the demand for this kind of room will stay for the next few months.

Next-generation hotel management

Of course, it’s up to business owners to decide how to take advantage of the existing situation. Still, we believe that implementing high techs such as AI, Machine Learning, Cognitive Computing, and Native Voice Recognition will significantly help. All of the above has already become an integral part of our next-generation cloud hotel management platform. It fits both large chain hotels and small family ones; even camping resorts will benefit from our HMS. Whatever the size of your hotel, our system will help you figure out the strengths and weaknesses of your business and then streamline it by minimizing expenses and automating various routine procedures.

What’s most important is – you only pay for the options you use!

Did you know?

Country borders may be closed all around the world, but people still need recreation and new experiences. For many, the list of destinations they want to visit at least once often includes places within their home countries. In the current crisis, these destinations have now become more relevant than ever. However, the question of safety, comfort and price remains.

These days the demand for glamping – glamorous camping with resort-style services – has increased dramatically. Glamping resorts cater to those who enjoy outdoor activities such as trekking, rafting, rock climbing as well as meditation and spa in nature, fine dining al fresco with locally-sourced organic food, all on an ocean shore or somewhere in a primaeval forest.

Experts forecast that this format will see even more demand in the future, especially considering how extended quarantine makes people long for contact with nature. It’s essential to keep in mind that solitude and comfort remain the key points people will be looking for. Hoteliers are familiar with this business model that takes roughly two or three tourist seasons to break even.

This is how habits of modern traveller are changing for the hospitality industry. Will hoteliers be able to leverage the current crisis to boost their businesses and attract tourists – and live up to their expectations? Time will tell.

How are you dealing with the pandemic?

We have listened to the opinions of managers and directors of premium hotels from all around the world to understand how they approach the present crisis.

Guido Fiorentino, the owner of Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria (Sorrento, Italy)

«Our business was completely compromised by COVID 19. Our most important challenge is to try to save the 2020 summer season partially, and despite being an optimist, I see it as very difficult. We depend on the provisions that are communicated to us by the respective governments, ours and that of the customers. In the coming months, we will have to look into other markets and pay more attention to domestic tourism. We need a more outside-of-the-box approach”.

Ilias Kokotos, co-owner of Elounda S.A. Hotels (Crete, Greece)

“Even though our hotel locations haven’t seen a single coronavirus case, all three hotels are now closed – the island does not have an air travel connection with the U.S., Europe and Russia. We haven’t laid off staff, cut down on salaries or bonuses; the government helped cover the costs.
I think now clients will be more conscious of their personal space in restaurants, pools, beaches, and even their villas”.

Pierre Delvaux, CEO of Thanda Group (Tanzania / South Africa)

“The island hotel Thanda Island on Tanzanian coast is getting long-term booking requests, from two weeks to a month, for when the borders will be open. Our staff that had been placed on a two-week vacation, has now come back and been trained under a new health safety protocol. In April and May, we kept the salaries as they were, but in June we’ll have to sacrifice a little”.

Xavier Giammattei, communications director at ULTIMA Collection (Europe)

"Our hotels in Gstaad and Courchevel are closed for now: the former due to the difficulties in implementing the security measures required for the crisis, while the latter is under renovation. Chalets and villas in Megeve, Crans-Montana and Geneva are open for tourists. All these hotels are open for those looking for solitude during the pandemic”.

Business travel will come back first

While developing the price chart and policy, don’t forget about the bigger picture. In addition to a business development plan, you will need a marketing plan that you will turn to when the rebound comes.

We believe that the first to come back will be business travellers and secondees. When the restrictions are lifted or relaxed, the previously postponed short individual business trips will be coming back, and you should be ready to welcome – and keep – this category of guests.

When business tourism shows that travel is safe again, others will follow. However, the return of group business trips will likely take much more time to arrive, mainly for the reasons of social distancing that will stay for a while. The demand will come back, so you should continue working on your business development tactics!

By the way, if you are feeling hopeless and out of optimism, look at China. There the hotels are getting busier and busier despite the extended lockdown at the height of the epidemic. Stats from Shiji Distribution show that some cities see hotel occupancy rate grow from single digits to 30%.

Forecast using relevant data

Forget about your last year’s analytics. The “new world order” is in, so focus on the data you have from the past couple of weeks and make projections based on that. Use this data to create revenue and occupancy boost scenarios for the short and long term outlook.

Hoteliers should only take the most recent data points. Together with their administration, they should plan out different scenarios for every possible course of events and prepare a list of actions and measures that will help follow through on success or cushion the potential negative impact.

While you’re hard at work planning out further development, the ModiHost system can gather all the necessary data from your hotel – or chain of hotels – analyse it, and show you how to make your business even more efficient!

How to keep guests and their loyalty during the crisis

The time is now to show your guests how much you value them. It doesn’t matter if they are making or cancelling their bookings. We have gathered a few useful recommendations for hotels that are looking to save their guests’ loyalty and keep them through the crisis.

Offer to rebook

Instead of cancelling their bookings, offer guests to rebook to a later date. It should be possible to rebook an unlimited number of times at any time, even if it’s just one day before their visit.

Reconsider cancellation fees

Your guests are also in a tight spot, and it’s not always that people can reschedule a vacation instead of cancelling it. To maintain their loyalty, do them a favour: provide a full refund, even if it’s against the cancellation policy.

Create a flexible cancellation schedule

A lot of people are planning their future vacations and trips. Because of the current uncertainty, guests are hesitant about booking non-refundable offers. This is why we suggest you reconsider the existing cancellation and refund policy to make it more flexible. For example, offer the possibility of a refund just one day before the check-in. This will help you get more bookings when people get back to travelling more often.

Enable a delayed bank card payment

We have analysed guest behaviour in several hotels and found out that they are already looking for accommodation for the summer vacation season, but are still wary of committing with their money. This is why we suggest you add an option to make a delayed online payment through a particular timed link you provide to the guest. You decide when and for how long the relationship will be active.

Tell your guests about the special offers on booking

Please make it so that your website visitors immediately learn about the flexible booking policy you offer, for example, through a pop-up widget. Through this widget, you can communicate the best offers: discounts, delayed payment, free refunds.

When the quarantine restrictions are finally lifted, and people get back to travelling, you will be ready to receive guests as you have always been!

Why use HMS ModiHost?

Our sophisticated HMS allows you to structure and streamline the processes of any hotel or chain. Today we will tell you how the system with integrated AI, Machine Learning, Cognitive Computing and Native Voice Recognition technologies can help hoteliers!

Multiple source guest data aggregation

The secret to driving growth in 2020 is to create ideas and make decisions based on data. Thanks to our system, hotels will have all the data they need on their guests in a single database that will gather information from multiple sources, for example, PMS, payment systems and third-party data providers.

The unified database will save time on searching for information across multiple applications as well as eliminate data migration errors and increase data accuracy.

For hotel chains: aggregate data from all venues

AI allows tracking guest behaviour and figuring out their preferences based on the data from all the hotels within the chain, aggregated within one common database. This will help identify your frequent guests so you can offer them the best possible rooms and additional services, increasing the overall guest experience.

Better marketing campaigns

The key to better profits in digital marketing is personalization. Marketing professionals say that targeted, personalized approach yields 20% more sales on average. With our system, you will be able to gather data about your guests from the critical points of contact as well as group them by interests, preferences and behaviour patterns. Use this grouping to create super personalized offers and adverts.

Data for the right decisions

When the budget is limited, you can’t rely on guesswork and intuition. The ModiHost management system helps gather and combine data points necessary to make the right decisions. This helps minimize risks and maximize results.

Hoteliers shouldn’t sleep on this!

A lot of countries have already lifted the quarantine restrictions. Ahead are both the business travel and vacation seasons, but even now, hotel performance analysis remains relevant among hoteliers. We want to focus on two less obvious criteria that you should consider.

Discounts hurt in the long-term

Yes, offering discounts when the season is winding down is the first thing that comes to mind, like an instinct. “Studies show that hotels that are quick to offer discounts during crises may take the longest to recover when demand comes back,” says Dan Scodol, Vice President of Data Science and Analytics at Cendyn.

“When demand returns and you try to put the prices where they used to be, the most profitable clients such as business travellers, event and wedding organizers will be hesitant about going along with the price increase,” says Neville Isaac, Head of Customer Service at Beonprice, a Spanish IT company.

Price reduction can lead to a slow recovery in terms of revenue.

Your competition has changed.

Professionals in hotel revenue usually consider just 6-7 similar hospitality providers in the area as their competition.

“But when people start travelling again, who you think is your competition may not be who any given consumer might consider it to be,”, says Jens Munch, CEO of Pace, a British IT company.

A classic example: a four-star hotel that cuts prices during a crisis to snatch away some customers from a competing three-star hotel.

“You’ll especially want to re-evaluate who you’re competing against if your value proposition has changed because you’ve temporarily shut down your food-and-beverage or spa, for example,” says Nevin Reed, a revenue management expert at Duetto.

How else can ModiHost system benefit you

Today we will speak again about how your hotel can benefit from the efficiency-focused hotel management system that we have developed.

Attract the most profitable customers

Not all guests have the same value to a hotel: if we take the Pareto principle, 80% of profit is created by just 20% of clients. With the powerful analytics, the ModiHost system has, you can determine who your most profitable guests are and send them personalized offers to motivate them to come back.

Sell more additional services

In a soft market, low demand can be partially compensated for with revenue from services other than accommodation. Our system can gather all the data about your guests across all of your venues, including their spending on food, drinks, meetings, events, entertainment, sport and SPA. With a single database on hand, you can analyze the spending habits of your guests and reorient towards those who bring more profits. You can upsell various services in your SPA, restaurant or bar.

Promote profit growth

With ModiHost, hotels can make the upselling process more successful. For example, even before the guests check-in, you can send them personalized letters based on their preferences, past purchases and behaviour – upsell a better room or make a preorder of additional services, food and events in the hotel.

Not only does this increase your profits and helps make more money on the more expensive rooms, but improves the quality of service for all your guest.
