I'll quote theymos' recent post on the Trust system here:
I don't make manual edits to DT1 unless someone is clearly abusing the DT1 selection process itself.

If you have a problem with a trust rating:
 - Complain to the person who made the rating.
 - Complain to the people who trust the person who made the rating.
 - Try to convince people to ~distrust the person who made the rating.
 - You can affect how DT1 is constructed by adding names to your trust list. Your trust list is empty, so you are failing to vote here at all.

I didn't know those forum features exist:
There are 94 DT1-candidates who trust icopress, and only 2 DT1-candidates who distrust him.

What a detailed explanation. Someone referred me to this link from my thread about trust system.

I'm satisfied with what I have read here. From majority comments on my thread, it's less important for a low rank member to focus on trust system but I have this question to ask.

Is there any limit to the number of users one can add to their trust list? And is there any implications for adding too many users?

If the list is too long, the page won't load anymore and you'll get a timeout. Someone tried with over 30,000 6 years ago. For all practical purposes, there is no limit if you're serious about reviewing each users before adding them.

In a way: you'll be considered a troll, and I'll blacklist you from my Trust list viewer.

Hi Loyce, thoughts on quoting theymos' advice in the OP? I think it could be worth adding to the Do's and Don'ts for the Trust list.

I definitely do recommend removing DefaultTrust from your trust list and constructing your own, as soon as you feel comfortable doing so. That's how the system was originally intended to function. A good starting point for this would be to pick 10-20 users from the current DT1, or from the larger list of all DT1 candidates. The system works differently when you replace DefaultTrust with your own custom list because you end up searching the trust graph 1 layer deeper; this means that you only need 10-20 active users on your trust list to get decent results, not the ~100 on DT1. It'd be a pretty good strategy to just pick some users who you have good feelings about without worrying about being perfect, and then later on make adjustments when you see people with accurate but untrusted ratings (add them to your trust list), or you see people with inaccurate but trusted ratings (~distrust them and/or whoever in your trust list trusted them).

Hi Loyce, thoughts on quoting theymos' advice in the OP?
I think quoting him here is enough, just like my other quote.

I definitely do recommend removing DefaultTrust from your trust list and constructing your own, as soon as you feel comfortable doing so.
After all those years, I still don't feel comfortable removing DefaultTrust. I want to see the forum the way most other users see it, so despite small changes, I don't want to deviate too far from DefaultTrust.
