How is that possible since I am sure he would not waste his resources trying to brute force an empty wallet. If he did, I would gladly pay him 20% of the empty wallet hehehe just kidding. But yes, maybe he would agree to a try out of breaking into a wallet which is empty just to prove that he can help.
And anyone can say they have a wallet with 500 BTC, encrypt a random wallet and give it to him. How is that different from only giving the wallet hash? And why would anyone do this?
I don’t get your point. He isn’t even sure if he will be able to get the password, so obviously there are cases where he just waste his time and electricity trying to brute-force a wallet.
The point is. I have to agree to give him 20% of something. That something is what I claim is inside my wallet. What if I claim there is $1million in it and 20% paid to him. When he opens the wallet. IF he opens the wallet, he could sue me. Because he put in effort wasting his time. Legally I would be bound to give him the money. THAT is the problem. In any case, this is a problem that a friend of a friend of mine. I just needed to know if this guy was good. I have already forwarded the information.
I will tell you all later if they agreed to hire him. They will probably speak to him directly. I have 0 involvement.
