I check the login page to see if they are really cloning the login page and I landed here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=login, their redirection is only on the home page but have not yet cloned the login page, we can conclude that the cloning is not complete and it has no effect to visitors who wants to log in to the real Bitcointalk, but we have something to worry if we are careless.
The login button only leads to BitcoinTalk in the homepage. Try going to any post and click on the login button to see what happens. There is a clone of the login page.
There is another thread from OP in the other board (
Fake Bitcointalk forum Warning) and IMO, breaking the thread in two (due to different boards) isn't that great because it divides the discussion.
I posted this in there:
TIP: Add the website to your hosts file to block it and avoid clicking on it by mistake.
I totally fell for the cloned site, until I realized I couldn't see your trust ratings.
I have added this line to /etc/hosts
Now my computer can't access that phishing site anymore.
Just do the above but with
bitinfo.cc instead of
bitcointalk.to.
