Stolen, no.  But unfortunately I sent bitcoin to a BCH address and lost it, about 0.002 in total.  I had for some reason copied a BCH address to the clipboard and forgot what coin it was, and my electrum wallet had no mercy and allowed me to send 'real' bitcoin to it.  That stung just a little.

Fortunately I don't see that many threads about bitcoin wallets getting hacked.  There are members who get scammed, of course, but rarely do I see a case of true hacking.  As for me, I'm going to be extra careful when sending either btc or bch in the future.

I lost over .5BTC around 3-4 years ago which was my first exchange from crypto to fiat. But it didn't happen as the exchange I choose to complete the trade scammed me. Though in that incident I learned how to survive from scammers and i do always double-check in anything related to the internet or in real life. Bitcoin was at $250 at that time though it still hurts. I learned my lesson but I think it was worth it. After that day I don't remember if I got scammed ever again. Now I don't send people such a big amount first without checking their background a few times. Now I always suggest people use google before using any site on the internet. I got scammed but None of my bitcoin's lost but It's sad to see that so many bitcoin's lost already but it's good for investors/holders.

Fortunately I have never experienced theft or loss of my bitcoin, but some of my friends have experienced loss BTC even got BTC stolen. Most of those who lost BTC because they kept BTC too long in exchanges or kept BTC in the new exchange. If the theft of BTC is usually done by hackers, they are targeting BTC stored wallet online. I try to giving advice if you have BTC in large amount, don't store it in an online wallet because many events are lost due to hacked, if a small amount of BTC is still safely stored in an online wallet. If BTC in large amount should stored in a hardware wallet like Trezor or Ledger Nano is relatively safer.

Where do you keep crypto? Have you ever been stolen?
I use to keep storing bitcoin and other coins in exchange wallet back in the days but all of that changed when I got hacked on that website, Indeed it is not safe and advisable to store bitcoins or any other altcoins on exchanges and online wallets.
The best way for you to store bitcoins and various altcoins are using hardware wallets which will cost you money but will make your funds secured.

Where do you keep crypto? Have you ever been stolen?
first time I knew bitcoin, I used blockchain as my bitcoin wallet. and thanks god it is safe for me. now im using a hardware wallet to collect bitcoin and use metamask for erc20 wallet. yes, I have experienced bitcoin (and ethereum) I was stolen by someone on an exchange not in my wallet directly. At that time I thought I was hit by a phishing website that caused someone to access my exchange account

I never been experience such things, and so I didn't ever wanted to. I don't have much BTC in my wallet, just little for me to help additional support for my daily needs. I am using wallet which is very popular in our country and that is coins.ph. It has several divisions for the different crypto currencies like BTC, ETH, and others. It is very convenient for me because I can easily convert my crypto currencies into our currency whenever I wanted or needed it.

I've never experienced losing bitcoin and i don't want to happen either. You know there is no 100% guaranty that keeping of bitcoin in exchange and different wallet is safe because it is online and there is a lot of hackers out there. But beside that you need to be as careful as you can in keeping your bitcoin. Need to set a strong password to your wallet and 2fa authentication for more security. in our country there is a wallet where we can store btc, eth.bch, xrp and you can convert it to fiat money easily if you need to cash out and it is also secured.

Personally I've never been stolen by anyone, but one time when I want to withdraw some BITCOIN they told me that I can't right now! So I creat many wallets online and offline, some I just keep on exchanges.
In my opinion the safest way is to keep your bitcoins in a cold storage and you keep your own private keys. Besides if you lose them then you cannot blame any of the exchanges but yourself alone.

Recently I've heard someone's speech about keeping BTC on the exchange is not safe. But the same thing may be fair to other types of wallets — it's all about the pros and cons, isn't it?
There must be a comparison based on the number of incidents, statistics, etc.
I mean, ok, let's consider this article as a detailed guide for different types of wallets — there's an explanation, principles of working, advantages and disadvantages — but how do you actually know, which wallet will be safe? How did you choose your current wallet?

Where do you keep crypto? Have you ever been stolen?
I have been stolen my bitcoin when I make trade with liqui exchange market, I am new with exchange market and not use additional security for my account, I hold there about 0.1 btc when bitcoin price about $500. Now I will be safety for my exchange account and add security authicator for my exchange account to be safety for my assets. You must use 2fa for your bitcoin exchange account to make it safe.

No, I never lost my Bitcoin. I rarely store my Bitcoin on an exchange's wallet. I keep it on Segwit wallet if I have no intention to trade it. We must know that there is no exchange with 100% secure to save our assets. So, don't take risks by keeping our Bitcoin on exchanges for a long time. Just send them there when we want to trade only.

Personally, my bitcoin has never been stolen but the safety of your bitcoin doesn't really matter that much on the type of wallet you are using. Your safety solely depends on how you access your wallet to send or receive bitcoin. Connecting to a public internet (wifi) whiles making bitcoin transactions may put you at risk of getting your bitcoin stolen. In as much that a lot of wallet comes with their own kinda security system, that might not be enough to keep your bitcoin safe. Never connect to a public internet without having systems in place to block all malicous attracts...

I didn't loose btc, but I lost other crypto due to forks, upgrades, desrepect from exchange.

Lost about 50 $ in a coin called geyser to yobit. Yobit never activate the deposit and not respond.

Lost about 30 $ in vulc token due token migration to new account and never received response from the exchange.

I have experienced getting phished before and lost all my altcoins, good thing never had my bitcoin stolen since I keep my bitcoin in a hardware wallet. That is why, if you are keeping a huge amount of crypto, never leave it even in an online wallet. I can also remember when I was new in crypto my money got scammed in a bitcoin doubler. I was new in crypto back then and I thought that it is an easy way to earn money.

Air gap laptop that I used as a wallet.

And then Electrum for my daily trading activities and quick exchange if I needed fiat for emergency. So far I haven't experience getting my BTC stolen. I guess if you really know how to protect your crypto assets, chances are it won't get hack or stolen from you.

The truth is not, because since I started in the cryptocurrency field, I have been very careful, I have printed physical backup, exclusive USB, and so on. I believe that security should be one of the first steps that we should know in this area.

Glady that I haven't experienced losing btc yet. (I hope I won't). But some of my friends experienced losing btc from the exchange and others lost their bitcoin because of scammers. It was really frustrating for them and disappointing as well since they've all worked hard for it and then it just vanished. After hearing their stories, I'm really being careful with my crypto cause I don't want to experience the same thing happened to them.

3 Instances (2 technically):

- Inputs.IO - funds still haven't been recovered, around 0.1 BTC; is what it is - I tried to get TF to give it back when he was giving money back but since it was so many years ago I had lost any trace of the account.
- Actually had all of my funds removed from my BlockChain.info account for an exploit which only affected less than 1% of their users. Thankfully, the person who ran the zero-day exploit gave the funds back w/ proof of account ownership. That man is literally a hero in my eyes.
- Minor funds lost on Cryptsy.

Other than that, nothing stolen.

Yes I have been stolen by CRYPTSY back in 2017 when BIGVERN decide to leave with our coins and then this year I had some coins into CRYPTOPIA ( few altcoins  ) and again I lost some coins there too ...but I learned my lesson and I never ever using exchanges again besides buying coins when I need to do and immediately withdraw them to my hardware wallet.

I'm also one of the unlucky guys who bought into BitStake in 2015 ( few will remember this project ) and after 3 days they pulled a massive exit scam leaving with thousand of bitcoins ...lost 0.5 BTC there. There were so many scams during 2015-2016 and I succeed in catch some like xst , breakout , harmonycoin=(old one ), d4rkpay =(who ran a token swap without informing the participants besides a message on telegram ), kickcity , parkapp  ...and now I'm focus on Rupaya and Galactrum as they are super shady lately.
