Depending on exchange where this IEO is taking place. If an IEO is held on Latoken, Probit, Exmarkets or other shitty exchanges,  it is much better to wait until exchange listing to get tokens with good discount. for now, participating in the right IEO is indeed quite promising. sometimes the price of the token increases to hundreds of percent from the initial price. this is quite different from ICO. at least, in this case, investors get enough profit. for some projects, I think investing in IEO will be better. imagine when you buy at the initial price, and get a pretty big bonus, and when you register, the price goes up to hundreds of percent.

Yeah, big exchange like binance are giving better returns to investors through their ieo's, they have large number of participants to buy and make ieo very successful, but in a way the similarity with ico's is not too apart, because once those ieo's tokens get pumped to some point the price will dump so hard, if you are not careful you could get stock and loss a lot of money,
So aside from the security aspect ieo's are not very different from ico's except they are well organize by exchange for a quick pump and dump from my personal observation.

There is no standard thinking about it, this depends on your situation. You can get it from IEO or exchange after listing according to the coin you want to invest. However the majority gives superiority to IEOs on bigger exchanges, and this can be better choice. But in small projects,  investing after listing can be an opportunity to collect from cheap price. That is usually the case, but there is always the possibility of the opposite, therefore I said there is nothing standard.

All of the tokens' price after the ICO or IEO or any token sale ended up plummeting after they got listed on the exchanges. This is because investors, bounty hunters (if they launched the bounty campaign) and even the team themselves are selling their tokens that they hold immediately to get profit. If you are a good investor and you believe on the coin, buy it on a lower price rather than buying it in the token sale or participate in an IEO.

If you are participating in ICO/IEO and you thing youe earnings is not enough, then you can do some trading. Trading is really a good sources of income for many people as you are the one controlling it. You can manage it wisely depending on how dedicated you are.
