How can we stop promotions of these projects? I think there is no way to to stop these projects. They have money to paid for ads, not considering by the services even the project is good or not. Right? How can you say no if the project has money to pay for an ads, who else will refuse that? Regarding promotions of hunters, people can't stop them if they wanted to earn thru campaign, so it will take long time to cut off this kind of activity.

I also did the same thing to overcome the fake project made by the scammer, which is not promoting it again when it has been indicated by SCAM. The first person to stop this is the Bounty Manager handling the project. The Thread Bounty must be locked and provided that the Project is a Scam. For other members who know in advance the project is fake, you can create a thread in the forum that discusses the scam project so that it can be further examined by other members.

Immediate action is the only way to avoid them, indeed. Once the project has been determined to be a scam, it should be reported in every participant also in their channels including Telegram. In this way, we can avoid their plan to take their investor's money and also the time and effort of bounty hunters will not be put to waste.

I think everything that is done will be seen when the promotion is already running, and if according to our research we feel suspicious, it's better not to continue to promote the project. and immediately verify in the forum to ask for more experienced advice to explore it deeper, whether the project is really a scam or not.

Plus one for this! But the problem is that the bounty manager himself is owed to the project itself. They are being paid for managing their projects. And for as long as the payment is coming in, many of the bounty managers will not respond to scam accusations, much less care to dig it up themselves knowing that once it is finally found to be really a scam, the payment will be gone. And it is very obvious that bounty managers right now are in bad need of projects that they even accept scam ones for as long as there is money.

Why not eliminate them completely? Isn't that for the best of all.
We wont be scared of anything anymore since they cannot exist in this forum specially.

I guess avoiding them is by not going too far away. By staying in this forum you could somehow avoid them with the help of pros here that can easily pinpoint them and then put them down.

I mostly see them in telegram.

I feel good that the crypto market has fewer fraudulent projects than in previous years! It's because people become smart after a long run bear market. Now, to avoid fraud projects, you have to have enough knowledge about analyzing a project! Verify their partners, have a look at their media coverage and also verify the community activities! Don't fall in a trap by seeing many positive comments in the telegram group, because these are paid praising! Read the project whitepaper, verify the team members' previous work history, if everything looks positive to you, invest there!

To get rid of scams in ICOs it is important to have regulations that will help them handle ICO campaigns more effectively. And it will start with platforms like Ethereum and Waves, while IEOs should also pay attention to the background of each Token and also have KYC requirements that help determine who its founders and partners are in creating of token / coin

Members who have high rank also think it's a good project so they follow Bounty to promote it, so here Bounty Hunter can't be blamed either because they also don't know whether it's a good project or not. I admit it's hard to find good projects at the moment because most of them are scams.

I draw the conclusion above based on what I saw there.

Even if we have members here doing research and checking projects that has potential to scam investors, there are still a lot of projects that still manages to get through, let's admit it, these scammers are getting better scamming investors, because there's a lot of money to be made here, they spend huge amount of money, so that they can't be detected.

yes fraud is rampant this year, therefore we must be wary of projects like that by checking the whitepaper, the team that handles the project, the website and the manager who holds the project and then analyze again if there is suspicion in one of these leave the project because of potential scams.

If i like a project, the first thing i do is checking team's background to see if they are real and see if they have the skills to create or develop the project. i do not base my judgement to the numbers of their community because i know this can be fake instead i make a lot of questioning directly to the core team via telegram or other ways to contact them, i just want to make sure that they really study their own project.

How to identify suspicious projects? checking the team behind the crypto project is useless on determining if its scam or not, nowadays its just easy to create a fake account , so even you are checking it carefully you will never know if the information you are reading is fake or not.

even checking the white paper is nonsense. a friend showed me an ICO that seems to be good, and a couple of weeks later they took all the money and left the coin, that's why I don't like to invest in ICOs and any new project, hopefully we'll have more tools to know when to invest in a good project, that way people are going to invest more in their great project.

Exactly, using unknown identification nowadays can be done due to the selling of private information in the black market. Checking only the background of the team was not enough to secure the legitimacy of the project.
Further investigations like feedbacks about the project and also looking for their platform if they have the capability to do such things.

One way is to impose regulation by having a central committee that will oversee crypto-related projects, to minimize scams and would make the crypto-space much safer. By saying a central committee, doesn't mean having a centralized agency that would manipulate the prices, they would just manage all projects making sure they conform with security standards, mitigating threats of scams and thefts, and in general would make the market more plesasing to potential investors.

Just by doing your self a favor before investing, most investors just put their money in a project without fully understanding the whole purpose of the project, without going their research and ends up blaming it in the whole crypto that it is all a scam. If only people will be more aware and educated about technology and blockchain tech maybe this would lessen people from putting their money in scam and shitty projects. This, decreasing the number of projects that pulls down the name of crypto as scam.

But for me the problem is how to find out or avoid a scam project because many people have chosen the project based on their observations and analysis that he usually does but still get a scam project. So in my opinion, we must be careful and make the activeness of the development team in the project a consideration.

In Bitcointalk many people are seriously observing about projects and that can be used as a preference because I am pretty sure they are independent and provide according to the facts. starting from a fake team and also a whitepaper whose copy here we can equally observe about many fraud projects

And it is very obvious that bounty managers right now are in bad need of projects that they even accept scam ones for as long as there is money.
Not all bounty managers like that, if it is already indicated SCAM thread must be locked immediately. Bounty Manager receives payment in advance, there are several 50% payment agreements at the beginning and will be repaid after the project is completed. If the Bounty Manager continues the Bounty indicated by SCAM, it will be given a Red Trush by the moderator, because it violates the forum rules.

so I think whether the project scam or not depends on the performance of ico and also from the intentions of the developer. if I usually check ICO on the Icoreview website to see hype, analysis and whitepaper, if the ranking is above 4, ICO will usually boom.
and I also pay attention to who is the pay manager, sometimes the ICO is good but the manager is broken, it could lead to a scam.
