Engaging in gambling is the first step in lossing a self discipline. Becoming addicted to it is totally lossing all your self discipline. I dont see any people who discipline themselves not lossing too much money while gambling. Instead most of them wants to have more win when greed takes over. I dont think discipline is a thing in gambling. I myself even gamble though not that much but I even considered my self as no discipline in terms of gambling.

Indeed, though the irony is all over the place when we applied "discipline" in gambling, because if it is already existing in yourself, you would not have play gambling in the first place, if that make sense. I thought discipline is only applied on good deeds but I guess it could be also applied on bad things. Discipline, if you know this, have this and you can apply this then you will have a bigger chance in earning more in gambling. Those who lost a lot in gambling are the once without discipline, they don't know when to stop, they are the one who lost a lot already but still they will keep playing even if they need to sell any of their belongings. They are the one who already won a lot already but still want some more and they end up going home empty handed or worse, they are in a huge dept.

Yes definitely it is, you should be well guided before you gamble, I've seen people with strong character falling into the trap of gambling, there is a big difference between a strong character a discipline one, without discipline you will not have limit on how many hours are you spending in gambling and how many funds are you going to allocate, only discipline can do that for you.

What sort of guidance can really help a gambler to stay away from loss and control his fate? None. Gambling should not be played at first place. Due to its unpredictable and destructive nature, it is safe to not get into this activity. It is easy to say and difficult to do that stay disciplined while gambling. Yes, it's not taking too long to see he will ruin himself if he doesn't have disciplined in gambling.
