The issue of altcoin potential increase in value in the near future is quite dicey. Bitcoin has been on a faithful dwindling lately and it makes the market bearish. I personally would love to have a bull run but am sceptical about it happening soon. I learnt that the ethereum 2.0 project would be spearheading a new dawn of increase and am eagerly waiting.

And that is by far the biggest issue, it is very easy to think that you can get good prices for altcoins at the moment and it is true but there is no guarantee that the price is going to go up during the next months, maybe it will but we are not sure about it so the best thing to do if you are a trader is to wait for the market to go down as low as possible and then when you begin to see that the recovery is imminent then that is the moment to buy, that way to do not have to wait long for your profits.

You are correct about investing and buying coins while the market is on red status since the prices of almost all the altcoins are low. While it is quite true, I cannot say that all new altcoins is better that old altcoins, it depends on what altcoin you are talking about. I fuess we need to check it first and do more research before we invest whether it is an old or a new altcoin.

Your assumption is not entirely true. There are a huge number of, old, altcoins that are more promising than new ones. Undoubtedly, there are some very interesting altcoins among new altcoins. But to exclude old altcoins when investing is not quite the right decision.

Every coin has advantages and disadvantages, I also think so, and many considerations in altcoin investment. But if altcoin is going to strengthen again, why not? Surely this will be a new solution to invest in the future.
