PIVX desktop windows wallet 3.4.0 hacked

I would like to share had happened to me while experimenting with PIVX staking, and perhaps hear your opinion.

About over a week ago, i downloaded the PIVX windows wallet version 3.4.0, on a freshly formatted windows VPS in order to try to do some staking.
After syncing completed, i transferred a small amount of 20 PIV to the wallet, and started experimenting with staking. It took me a few days of trials, until finally the small arrow went green, meaning staking was "true". I decided to transfer the bulk of my PIV's to the wallet.
I pressed "receive" on my wallet, and an address appeared on the receive "form". I sent 5000 PIV to that address (see bellow):

Surprisingly no funds reached my wallet. the 5000 PIV did reach the above address, but it is not an address under my control, so the funds are gone.
After the initial 5000 PIV lost transfer, I did make a few small transfer to the newly generated wallet addresses, and they all came successfully. It seems that only the first address that appeared on the "receive" form of the wallet, was compromised.

I wonder what you experts think about that case. Is it something that can be done remotely on a computer, or it is something that only someone on the staff of the server farm, had to be involved in (i was working with interserver.net VPS for many years, mainly running crypto related bots, and they might have been aware of my activity)

i think it's because your VPS has a copy-paste virus, maybe you can try to copy-paste your address on a notepad in your VPS to check if your address got changed into another address
