Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"?

Tell this to early adopters! They are probably buys right now with making billions, so they don't come to visit this forum so often anymore. Hodling is a word that have a meaning, its investment you believe in long run. You don't expect to get rich over night, you made a research, you analyzed the market, you understand its potential and you are ready to wait for years if you have to, and accumulate in the mean time.

Holding is good but you need to ensure you are holding the right coins, early adopters didn't have a hard time choosing what to hold as at that time there are only few coins available and thee are a lot of successful old coin now, their success were felt more during the last bull run.

They originated that hold because we've seen that holding is really profitable, but not all the time, I am sure a lot of people realized their mistake after the long bear market.

Early adopters didn't have luxury that we have now. It's not only that they didn't have the choices we have now, they needed to believe when all the prices were 0, or milicent's. You said their success were felt the most during the last bull run, that was in 2017. Math is simple here, they needed to wait more then 5 years for that! Not all of them survived, some dumped long time ago, but the ones who didn't dump are the true holders and they are rewarded for that. That's my point, you needed to believe even in dark times, and believe it or not, the beginning is always the hardest, they were totally anonymous back then, and now entire world knows about bitcoin.

I think Atlant is was in good position last week but now all coins are at bottom if you are in loss then wait and if any coin gives you some profit then get profit and sell it.

It seems to me that today almost all assets look the same and it’s very difficult to choose among them something more suitable for future prospects and making good profits.  Nevertheless, in order not to take risks, despite the current decline in prices for the highest-rated cryptocurrencies to 20%, it is better to make the right choice and buy Bitcoin Ethereum.  At least today's prices are quite profitable for investments and these coins are not so risky for investors, unlike other cryptocurrencies.

Well if you are planning to hold these coins you've mentioned it is better to give up now because most of the coins you have mentioned isn't that promising, the only coin i know that can have a good future is atlant. Give up on the other coins and try to invest on the bigger names on the market like eth, xrp etc. I am holding xrp now and i have loss quite some money but i am very sure that it's price will rise up in the near future.

When i am holding coins and then the price of its starts increasing i will set a certain point where i will sell my coins and will not be greedy and stay holding hoping it will still continue rising, we need to stick to our own plan and not be i fluenced by your friends.

I don't think Holding is foolish. It simply implies how much trust you have for your investment and it clearly shows how you trust your decision as an investor. Keep in mind that you are engaging yourself on investments and it won't always be good days for such strategy to earn profit. There are many factors that affect an investment and choosing to be patient over negativities on your investment is simply admirable.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

it is very unlikely that the coins you hold will rise dramatically or return to prices like in 2017.
we will see how the current market conditions and people are more focused on good new coins in the current year and the year to come.

Looking at the collection of Altcoins that you have and the context of your question, one phrase just jumped into my mind and it's "There is a time for everything". If this were to be 2017, those collection of coins you have would have been worth a lot because they had so much hype and the future looked bright and they would have increased so much in the altszn but unfortunately, this isn't the right time.... YET.

Anything is possible and what you need right now is a miracle, the kind of 2017 miracle, if it were to happen, your portymight look good once more and you could still real a lot of profit depending on how long the altszn lasts. But then again, if the altszn comes, the major alts like Ethereum would do much better than those coins so I would advice you give up on those alts and get into bitcoin or Ethereum.

I do not believe in HOLD and will never trust it either. Anyway it's matter of mindset and choice. Hold favours some and doesn't favour some...I hold but not too long but some people holds for ages. If one sees a good promising project he or she can hold anyway.

You took the risk four years ago, it will be only you who can best decide for the situation. And you took the risk of buying before so, why don't you take the risk of selling now? Many will say that you should have sold them last 2017, while others will say you have to wait for a while now. You might as well want to see 2020 first before you decide for yourself and own good.

Your stance is very strong, you have your own calculations and analysis so that if one day it will increase again, because even if it is sold now it will be very worthless. So being patient is the cure. You will get what you expect at bullrun. So it's better to just keep it up. Of the ten altcoins, it seems that the biggest hope lies with NPXS, the rest seems to have to tolerate whatever happens. And let's look for other opportunities to entertain yourself.

You can't hold all of this coin from 2015, you are interested in new coin because you know new coin is profitable than old coin. You should change some old coin and swap to new coin. If you are holding from 2015, I think you didn't lose anything even you earned a good experience.

It is best to buy only with a reasonable plan. The last drop is an opportunity for us to own crypto at the best price in 2019 for altcoins and for Bitcoin and the top 30 cryptocurrencies, this is the next opportunity after we missed in early 2019. Next morning I feel the whole market will increase steadily to create a jump in the coming years.

From your portfolio I was holding ATLANT for almost 2 years and after waiting so long I lost my faith in "HOLD" and sold ATLANT at minimal price. In my experience of word "HOLD" I must say only bluechip currencies are worth holding for long time. I was holding EOS for almost 8 months because EOS was dropped down right after the day I bought EOS but I hold EOS because I had faith because EOS is backed with highly sophisticated project and is listed on one of the best exchanges and finally EOS gave me good return.
From my experience I must say those cryptocurrencies which are backed with less sophisticated projects or those cryptocurrencies listed on small exchanges, they aren't worth holding for too long.

It is best to buy only with a reasonable plan. The last drop is an opportunity for us to own crypto at the best price in 2019 for altcoins and for Bitcoin and the top 30 cryptocurrencies, this is the next opportunity after we missed in early 2019. Next morning I feel the whole market will increase steadily to create a jump in the coming years.

Treating every dropped price in the market as an advantage for the investment is not right, the consequences of the bear market still affect the investor confidence. The average market entry price is important and dropped market prices provide a good opportunity for adding more bits to stash. The best moments for entering the bull market is the last months in bear market. Sitting tight(no-trading) is the hardest task of the impatient crypto trader.

This makes the community more panic when we all asking why the price dropped, when the price becomes stable, people are still complaining too when the price will go up why no action from the team, blah blah blah, sometimes our biggest enemy is our own self, for being impatient we are affecting others which can affect the whole market, so we should be always be patient if we truly believe in the project.
