It's ironic to think that government can spend billions on infrastracture but still have lack of support in their athletes. I am not against on what they spend on cauldron as it's actually our pride but they should also focus on athletes well being.
Are there any current athlete complaining? Or just some past athletes ranting but they actually played in the previous admin and also under the previous sports head, Peping?

From what I know, our current athletes are well-taken cared off by our current gov't.

I think you're right. The current admins are doing their best to take care of our athletes and that what I see when an athlete won gold medal during his stint for gymnastics Olympic qualifier and paid for over 2million php. Well if all athletes will have the same dedication for the country, of course they will be rewarded.

The 30th South East Asian Games will be held here in the Philippines from November 22 to December 11. There will be 11 Countries that participate in this biennial Olympics. Here are the countries that will participate.

Brunei
Cambodia
Indonesia
Laos
Malaysia
Myanmar
Philippines
Singapore
Thailand
East Timor
Vietnam

Who do you think will bring home the most number of Medals this time?
Is there a sports betting site that will cover this?
though Philippines is always number 4 in rankings yet i am not losing hope that this time since the competition will be held in Philippines i am confident that at least we will go up for second and third place.

the athletes are inspired with tons of kababayan that will watch them and also their relatives, family and friends will be on the convention centers to support them.

The current admin is ensuring the athletes will give their best by giving a good reward, when they win gold, that's equivalent to million already and that amount is already a life change amount in the Philippines.

It looks like Manny Pacquaio will open up the games:

Quote
Pacquiao to have role in SEA Games opening ceremony, says Cayetano

MANILA, Philippines—Manny Pacquiao, one of the most notable Filipino athletes in the world, is expected to take part in the opening ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games slated on Nov. 30 at Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

https://sports.inquirer.net/373326/pacquiao-to-have-role-in-sea-games-opening-ceremony-says-cayetano

I guess I have to agree that Pacquiao put the Philippines in the map again because of his boxing exploits up to this day. So it's just fitting that he will be given the honours by the Philippine government in this coming SEA games. I'm assuming he will lit the flames to officially start the games.

I've looked at onehash but they still don't have it since it's still 1 more week before the ceremony starts.
Maybe you mean 1 more week before it closes as the SEA Games has already started yesterday.
You got your information wrong. The SEA Games will start Nov 30 and ends on Dec 11.

Or we can say it in a different way... "if athletes will receive reward they will put dedication on their sport"...
The current admin is ensuring the athletes will give their best by giving a good reward, when they win gold, that's equivalent to million already and that amount is already a life change amount in the Philippines.

The problem with Philippine Sports is not the reward after winning the games but the funds to support training in order to win a medal. It would be extremely hard for athletes to win international tournaments without international exposure and training first.

Or support from private sector like what Pangilinan did to the basketball. Filipino athlete are really dedicated to their sports, but somehow the government doesn't have the full backing.

I do hope that the Duterte administration will change all of this and hope that the Philippines, being the host will send a strong team and fight for the top in the SEA games.

I know it will be an advantage to Philippine team cause a lot of boost will happened on the Home court advanage, like Manny Pacquiao presence on the opening ceremony. Many filipinos will be inspired to this, and will do their best to win different sports during the games.

Based on other countries line up which do you think is the strongest amongts all the participating countries? of course my bet is on Philippines but there are more formidiable Asian Country when it comes to sports like Malaysia and Thailand.

My vote would be bias of course. I would go for the Philippines since I'm from the Philippines. Not only because it's my country, but also because I can see the potentials of the Philippines representatives. Looking at the records and standing, the Philippines has the capability in competing with the other countries. Also, it's an advantage for the Philippines since they'll be hosting the said event, knowing the support of co-fellow Filipinos are stronger... But I know it won't be an easy fight for PH since other Asian countries are good as well.

At least the government is still giving their support for dedicated athletes of the country. The reason why the government can't give the support and full preparation they need is because the government has many corrupt perople and taking the funds into their pockets. I'm not saying that the duterte administration are doing this but there are still some government employees that still doing this.

Duterte administration is doing their job right and bringing changes everyday with the old way we have in our country.

we have already proved the world how great Philippine athletes are, like in Boxing we have Manny Pacquaio,Nonito Donaire, and Nietes, and just recently we won the first international Gymnastic Gold medal that ASia has.
same as the ice skating,in shooting and many more games.
i am pretty sure that the medal tally will change this 30th asian game.

Who do you think will bring home the most number of Medals this time?
Yes, everyone in particular, in Asia supports their respective countries at the 30th Southeast Asian Games, held in the Philippines this year in 2019, different from those previously held in Singapore.

I also follow its development, 2019 Southeast Asian Games for now and until the tournament is over.
your questions for now are still the same answers answered by: coin-investor

You can see in international / local media and television in your country, you will find the latest news every day, which country has the most trophies.

Sort of. Maybe the athletes ( the one who will participate ) is being taken care of but how about those aspiring athletes? How their skills be mold when they're just using improvise material for their practice. Honestly, the sports facility in Tarlac won't be there because the athletes need it, it was just built because we are hosting the SEA games and we are trying to impress the other countries. 🤦🤦

Perhaps, this is from the previous administration's fault.

Honestly, the sports facility in Tarlac won't be there because the athletes need it, it was just built because we are hosting the SEA games and we are trying to impress the other countries. 🤦🤦

Nonetheless, it can still be used after the event. Those athletes it that region will benefit from it. And it is an international standard because it was built for the SEA games.

Perhaps, this is from the previous administration's fault.

Philippine Sports has been in the sorry state long before the Duterte or the Aquino administration. We are just lucky there are still athletes who succeed even with minimal support. We hope that in this SEA games they become successful as well.

Let's be fair for all countries who participated this worldwide event, and as I've look at the potential of Philippines compared with other competing countries, I am also sighting their advantages since we're not aware yet on their performances. Let's always count on several possibilities, probably if Philippines couldn't make it towards the top I just predict the second or third place for them.

Real talk here, how can the Philippine athletes perform better if the government instead of cheering for them, the anti-admin is throwing mud to the admin because of corruption in building the stadium. Just check the local news in the Philippines and see whats the story about SEA games and you will find over priced stadium being investigated and over priced contract handed to a Malaysian firm. Very little mention about the athletes.

I am still hoping for Philippines to make it at least on the top 3 if they cant make it to number 1. Philippines will be represented with 1,868 athletes.

Indeed they are more focus in other things rather than supporting the athletes and giving what they need to be able to have an edge for this competition. Based on the news the budget is quite huge but it doesnt reflect to whats currently happening.

I just hope philippines can stand out despite this since they are capable to have a chance to get the gold medals. Goodluck to all players.

Also one the advantage is having almost all participants with all the offered games, this one of those disadvantage when this tournament being held to other countries as the sports commissions don't have enough budget. Now that this will be held here I can say that Philippines can take the
second or first slot. Good luck to all the representative take the glory in front of the Filipino crowd.

I think this is a mess up for Philippines as being host in the South East Asian Games. Many visitors and early arriving athletes have express their disappointment over the hospitality of the Host Country. Read the articles and me myself as one of the community of the Philippines has totally dissappointed with what happened. I hope President should take action on this faster than the news arrived cause it's really ashamed for those who arrived early and given not a good treatment.

According to Cayetano, they are just humans and they make mistakes, but they already apologies and I don't think its really a big issue at all.
We are hosting an event so its normal to face some problem, and what I like about the media in the Philippines is they keep to reporting negative news instead of the good ones.

I'm assuming he will lit the flames to officially start the games.
yeah it was mentioned in News by Cayetano that Manny Pacquiao will be the one who's Lighting the fire of the very controversial CAULDRON to symbolized the Start of the competition and i totally agreed on this because Senator Pacquiao is the most popular athlete of the Philippines if not the world.

I know mate, but they are given ample time to prepare for this and knowing the timeline of the events, these kind of issue shouldn't be taken carelessly. Apologize can be accepted but this incident is probably be remember by the people that got affected.

I'm just bit disappointed with DFA response towards this.
