I recently heard about Blockstack Bitcoin Airdrop and I am literally confused about the airdrop. Why do they need to conduct such an airdrop? They are well placed and are working.

Is it genuine or Is it is a scam? I got this information while searching Google. This article - https://cointikka.com/airdrop-btc-blockstack/ came on the first page stating $1 worth of Bitcoin every week.

Is this a scam, did anyone get those satoshis? What happens next If I follow those instructions?

Please reply. Thanks.

Did a quick 2 minute research on it, and it looks(?) legitimate as far as I know. But, I checked the registration instructions and, well, you're going to need to submit your mobile number and some other information. Do you think submitting your personal information and mobile number is worth the measely weekly(?) $1 you're getting? Think about it. Just mow your neighbors lawn or something and you might get a lot more than $1.

I was gonna say the same, 1$ a week, I know it's free money but still, what if they require you to fully verify when withdrawing?
Unless you try to cheat, and at 1$/w I don't see how you're going to get that many phone numbers it's simply not the effort.

As for what they re doing it, cheap advertisement they might not even pay if they have some hidden rules about minimum withdrawals or something. If you're willing to share your phone number with them, do it, but think before if it's really worth it!

Oh scratch that!
Something weird here.

The registration is at:
https://blockstack.org/try-blockstack

But the article tells you to claim your airdrop at:
https://www.yournewinternet.com/?grsf=t3bpn7

Hmmm, think all the time spent here around hundred of scams is making me paranoid!
Might be just another of their websites but...

$1 a week is still going to attract a lot of people.
In India minimum wage is 2.5 USD per day. It's the same in Pakistan, 8USD a day in Indonesia. Getting additional $1 for these people is like $10 a day for the rest of us.

I wouldn't submit KYC for such money but many people will. I've seen some airdrops from the side of the distributor and 90% of people who claim these come from Africa and the Middle East.

I can't even look at that website. It's broken, which annoy me. $1 a seems reasonable I guess. I don't understand how these sort of things work. You also get basic income coins and how does that work?
How can you get $$ worth of crypto every month? They were talking about $100 a month or something. Sounds like nonsense.

$1 a week is still going to attract a lot of people.
In India minimum wage is 2.5 USD per day. It's the same in Pakistan, 8USD a day in Indonesia. Getting additional $1 for these people is like $10 a day for the rest of us.

That is the problem with these things you see. I guess if I was living in India I would probably not even care if someone knows where I live. ^^

1$ a week is a fair deal to some people in some countries. And it is an opportunity for those that are good at referrals because it's 1$ in BTC per each referrals and not in shitcoins.
I don't think they are going to request for KYC for such amount but withdrawal threshold is going to be high if it's being paid to dashboard of participants.

Talking about airdrop, I think that we should not really expect a lot especially if a platform is really legit, though of course there can be some better airdrops in the past especially in 2017. This can be some sort of promotion so either we take it or leave it. I still have to determine how legit is Blockstack but I am doing some research for it right now. Yes, $1 a week may not mean much but for someone who still don't have any Bitcoin this can be a good start. Of course, there can be some requirements for someone to receive the Bitcoin and many might conclude that $1 is not worth it.

a couple of years ago when you heard "airdrop" it meant airdrop (something that drops from air into your lap for free) but nowadays whenever you heard "airdrop" it is either the payment for a job you do (like ICO scams paying you to advertise their scam and call that airdrop) or you sell them something and in return they give you money calling that "airdrop" which is the case here. you are selling them your privacy and they are paying you $1 for it.
the question you should be really asking is what are they going to do with what they bought from you?

Hm. This is pretty interesting, Blockstack is a pretty well-known company for a couple of years now, and the airdrops also looks legit (on the actual site, not asking for anything excessive, regular information).

It's a very weird situation, I don't know why would they would bother with giving away a single dollar, it's not worth the effort for me, and it also seems very useless for Blockstream, unless they are trying to farm users in a pretty cheap way?

I think it is a legitimate Airdrops and has been working with Blockchain, but must first pass KYC to follow Airdrop Blockstack through Blockchain.
But is it true that the reward will be available for February 2020 and it's only worth $ 10?

Nothing to lose if you try to join that airdrop, they are not asking for id or any imprtant document so its good to try.
1$ every week for simple task is not that bad but it will depend only how hard the task you need to finish to claim the free 1$ worth of btc.
There are also other way referal, which you can earn 1$ for every friends you refered.

did you get this from email, I get a lot like this, cases like this are usually because you have followed one of the bounties where your email was published from a spreadsheet so that scammers came to send promotional emails, like this, I also got this airdrop information almost fulfill my personal email, if i were you maybe i would stay away from that airdrop, i only hear airdrop blockstack is only available on blockhain

I think this is authentic because bitcoin blockstack is currently holding airdrop events on several exchanges like one of them on blockchain.com exchange they will give us $ 10 if we have passed KYC to the gold level, but at this time I haven't participated in the event because I'm lazy sending personal information to them.
For me it's impossible if it's a fraud because we know that the blockchain exchange is a very popular exchange that is used by crypto.

I also came across an article where Blockchain wallet has partnered with Blockstack and will be conducting an Airdrop worth $10 into their wallet. This only applies to those individuals that have cleared KYC level Gold. They will be conducting it in January and February.

Since KYC is involved and that also for a wallet I will skip it.

The airdrop might good way to earn but making a kyc to claim it  hmm i think this one i will not agree . 10$ for your identity no is not enough and we also dont know about the background to that company and we are not sure how secure our identity if we will give it to them .

I guess such airdrop are luring those users who are willing to give their numbers and other info for very small amount of money. And from those collected data, we will never know where will they end up with. But it is the user's choice so no one but the user is to blame if something happens afterwards. Spam mails? Easy, free and secure but don't be deceived by such slogan. Dig more what's in it for them.

Thanks.

The airdrop might good way to earn but making a kyc to claim it  hmm i think this one i will not agree . 10$ for your identity no is not enough and we also dont know about the background to that company and we are not sure how secure our identity if we will give it to them .

Yes, for only $ 10 we have to send my personal identity is not comparable in my opinion, but I do not know about Blockstack what is the mission and its users, whether the purse provider or what product? but if you have partnered with blockchain then it can be promising in my opinion.

$1 a week is just too small for my phone number to be given out just like that. If people learn to avoid such airdrop, they will stop this kind of airdrop abuse requiring contact details. A phone number has someone's details. Sometimes one can't blame people because of some heavy low standard of living in different continents of the world.

In my country it is easy to get a new phone number so it depends how work around with a phone verification. If it was document verification then I would have skipped it for $1.
