There are many decentralized exchanges but some of them become a scam.

Crypto-bridge dex have options to exchange BTC to ETH and vice-versa but most of the reviews about crypto-bridge, they are forcing people to submit KYC verification and I heard that this exchange is a scam so I don't recommend this.

Try to check this one https://dex.openledger.io/ they have BTC to ETH, unlike Binance dex.
it seems legit no bad reviews yet about this decentralized exchange but you can search here on the forum about this.

Other decentralized exchanges can be found here https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges then use filters to exclude centralized exchanges.

Personally, i recommend https://bisq.network/. They also have bitcoin-to-fiat (and vice-versa), even though it comes with many risks.

There are many decentralized exchanges but some of them become a scam.

Or centralized exchange pretend to be decentralized exchange

I am wondering if there is a decentralized exchange that will convert Ethereum to Bitcoin.
For this particular task I personally use changehero.io
As far as I know it is decentralized and does not require KYC

You can do it using Atomex https://atomex.me/. Since it uses atomic swaps and cross-chain trading. It has a multicurrency HD wallet but it supports just a few coins currently (BTC, LTC, ETH, and another one but don' remember which one) and Windows only.
There are also OpenLedger (and Binance Dex?)

edit:
@BitMaxz
Really, only 5 coins? All the hype about Binance Dex for this? LOL

There are also OpenLedger (and Binance Dex?)

Binance dex currently not support BTC/ETH pair they only have limited pair.

Pairs they currently support in BTC.
- ANKR / BTC
- BOLT / BTC
- COS / BTC
- BNB / BTC

And it seems they don't have ETH listed. Look https://www.binance.org/en/trade/

You can use using Bisq exchange to create your own ETH-BTC order, and that is true dex exchange,
or you can use some wallets with Atomic swaps.

Birake and zer-dex exchanges are less known, but also available.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4929796.0

One more option is Waves exchange (they are using gateways)
https://client.wavesplatform.com/

No kyc for all of them

I found something called https://changehero.io/ which is an anonymous exchange but not DEX you can convert any amount with no registration and no documentation.

Personally I never used this but anyone has an idea about their legitimacy?

I tried the converting service of myetherwallet, it worked smoothly. Therefore you may try the Bisq.network or Openledger! Openledger is known and famous though and the  Bisq network has a better potential to do these things.

I'm going to recommend this as well. Bisq is actually more decentralized compared to most of the so called "DEXs" we have right now. The only downside is that there are only far less buy and sell offers compared to what we have on centralized exchanges. If you're not in a hurry though, feel free to set your own buy/sell offers so you can get the trades on your own preferred prices/ratios.

So something like Flyp.me?

Never heard about it before. They also support debit and credit card it seems, not sure if that's privacy-friendly.

ChangeHero has an automated risk scoring and risk prevention systems aimed to spot suspicious activity during operations. A transaction will be put on hold if it is flagged by the system and the user will be asked to pass AML & KYC verification. For security concerns, we are not able to disclose the specific criteria of our system. However, our system is proven to be very effective against any money laundering and scam activities.

TL:DR; we can flag your transaction as we wish and you need to send your ID to unlock it. I won't risk it.

I would recommend using changelly.com.

  • Decentralised (https://changelly.com/about)
  • No KYC required
  • iOS/Android apps (with obvious potential privacy trade-off) with advanced features.

I don't think any exchange so far is fully decentralized except Bisq.
They all use gateways.

Stakenet is working on new DEX exchange and they will also support Lightning Network.
At the moment they are beta testing it with users.

Changelly isn't decentralized (hint : you need to sign up/sign in to start exchange) and it as somehow shady reputation.

I have been using them since ages (original BCH fork). I had also a few problems with them and they managed to solve them.
I use them with Trow-away emails, and that suffice for me as lack of KYC.
I don’t know anything about reputation: if you know something please share it!
They declare to be non custodial of my funds, and I think this imply to me to classify them as decentralised. They also claim to be decentralised on their website. If you apply a criteria to define them as centralised, please share.

I am not affiliated in any way with them: It’s a service I have been long using and found useful so I wanted to share. Ready to change my mind!

@fillippone

There are a couple of threads in the forum about them (I don't remember the stories and how it ended, or not). But just to add, Changelly.com can ask you to perform the KYC at any time if they (their system) think your transaction is linked to "suspicious activity."
And this, without an explanation from their part. So you won't even know why the system flagged you.

Quote
Changelly service reserves the right to apply the AML/KYC procedure to certain Users, addresses and particular transactions of crypto assets. Application of the AML/KYC procedure is based on Changelly service internal policies and aimed at preventing and mitigating possible risks of Changelly service being involved in money laundering as well as any other illegal activities.
https://changelly.com/aml-kyc

And I too classify the service as centralized, one simple reason, among many, is there is a team behind the business who control everything from A to Z. It's a non-custodial service because it doesn't store users' coins/keys but not decentralized, who has the power?

@fillippone

And I too classify the service as centralized, one simple reason, among many, is there is a team behind the business who control everything from A to Z. It's a non-custodial service because it doesn't store users' coins/keys but not decentralized, who has the power?
That’s interesting to know.
Thanks.
So, to recap, the best definition is: centralised, non-custodial.

Yes, but still they can hold up your funds as per there wish and ask you for KYC, this takes them no where near to be decentralized.

You can do it using Atomex https://atomex.me/. Since it uses atomic swaps and cross-chain trading. It has a multicurrency HD wallet but it supports just a few coins currently (BTC, LTC, ETH, and another one but don' remember which one) and Windows only.
There are also OpenLedger (and Binance Dex?)

edit:
@BitMaxz
Really, only 5 coins? All the hype about Binance Dex for this? LOL
Now Atomex support BTC ETH LTC XTZ USDT(erc20) and tzBTC on Windows, macOS, web and Linux platforms, mobile version soon.
Btw, Atomic swap is a true cross-chain exchange Cool

I researched and found a decentralized exchange that can convert Ethereum to Bitcoin.
https://atomex.me/
* Atomic swap is a technology for anonymous and secure exchange of digital assets without the need to trust a third party. Atomex uses an on-chain implementation based on hashed timelock smart-contracts.

You can check more decentralized exchanges from here : https://cryptomood.com/a-list-of-decentralized-exchanges/
