LoyceV merit OP!

I scanned the QR code, and it works (but I didn't claim the sats).

How do you create this? Normally, you can't send Lightning without making a request first.

I was wondering how to manually make this in Bluewallet. It looks like a feature that's only supported by Bluewallet.

That's great, there's common ground despite different political views, and I love the freedom to disagree with anyone Smiley

remmber folks this is not someone giving you 100 real bitcoin satoshis,
they are simply opening a channel with you with 100,000 LN millisats

you cant broadcast it to claim them as real bitcoins because the broadcast free will nullify the balance

the idea is to get people to use LN to increase channel counts to make it appear more popular
the idea is to get people to use LN to then trust the hub as they 'seemed' to hav given you free money
the idea is to get people to use LN to then risk their own funds by locking up their own btc after to then do something

its like mcdonalds giving people 10% off
knowing that people end up not getting $0.20 in thier pocket but instead adding another $1.80 to buy a $2 basic burger and then become thier loyal customer
(nothing in life is free)

but here is a tip
set up many channels and route the LN millisats throw the faucet hub to one channel forcing the service to give one channel 500,000 millsats via 4 other channel hops through the hub and the already given 100 to the channel
and then cash out and re-do

treat it like a bug test, for how many ways you can abuse the routing facility

these faucets aim is not actually giving away 100 sats claimable as is.. sorry onchain fees surpass giveaway . which is why the service is so happy to do it as they know straight out claims/channel closes wont work.

so use routing against them by routing many channels capacity to one channel then take it out

LN is still not safe to risk real funds. even the devs themselves had loses. so you might aswell use LN's flaws against it to show devs how abusive it can be used
hopefully that way it will teach them how insecure it is

remember to report all the bugs of
not being about to broadcast and claim whole 100 sat
not being about to rout funds to stash funds in one channel
not being about to broadcast the stash channels close session

just dont be convinced its safe to lock your funds up with a hub. as thy will end up pushing value through you to raid you dry

You may want to read Trust Summary for franky1 before believing his anti-LN-FUD. It's coming from gmaxwell and achow101, both highly knowledgeable Staff members.

We all know the limitations of LN, that doesn't mean it can't be a scaling solution and provide payment options which Bitcoin itself can't handle.

This can be a physical way to increase awareness of Bitcoin.
Posting some pieces of paper around a crowded park and give some money to people who scan the QR codes - this way they are going to be engaged with Bitcoin and eventually try to acquire more in the future.

firstly i aint afraid to call out the devs when they doing the wrong thing. i care more about bitcoin then they do.
m being anti dev anti core and anti altnetwork. does not make me anti-bitcoin. it means i care more about the network than kissing devs ass. devs should be held to account for their actions and not allowed to just mess up bitcoin
i literally dont care for the 'trust' rating..
the 'trust' rating is about trading. i have never traded on this forum.
because devs and their friends want to abuse the trust rating due to your personal emotions. thats just their niavity to also not realise maybe they should change and care about the network and community instead of playing the victim

its the devs and devs buddies that stagnate bitcoin and say bitcoin cant scale and the only solution is to push people onto other networks

We all know the limitations of LN, that doesn't mean it can't be a scaling solution and provide payment options which Bitcoin itself can't handle.

LN is not a blockchain network
LN IS NOT BITCOIN!!!
LN's unit of measure is millisats with a basket brand of 'bitcoin' of 100,000,000,000 milisats
but the real btc does not have 100 BILLION units of measure.

transacions on LN are not done using a relay ntwork that does all th full node checks and consensus stuff . LN is not a decentralised payment verification network

what LN is is you and another person putting money into a joint bank account and then playing with a notepad to write out IOU and then when finally both agree you can then sign a joint bank account bankers Cheque to get the real funds out
LoyceV. im gonna say it just on more time

LN is not bitcoin. just as much as FIAT is not bitcoin. but the 'LN is scaling solutions' is about comparable as saying, take your funds and go back to fiat

LN does not have the same immutable security and decentralised verification that bitcoin does.
LN is not bitcoin and should not be associated as a bitcoin feature but instead a alt network service

anyway. advice to all
dont use this topics 100,000 millisat giveaway as a tempter for you to invest your own coins into their channels.. use their giveaway to abuse and bug test LN ..
devs need to know the risks and flaws and not be trying to get people to risk thier real funds

but hey. LoyceV
all i said is dont risk funds and to use and abuse the giveaway to bugfix..
if you prefer me to say people should throw their own funds in.. then maybe your part of the problem too

The CoinPlaza Exchange LN requests don't seem to have an expiry date built in - perhaps it's coded something like how they are doing it?

The QR code comes up with: (on Eclair 0.4.9)

Quote
This is not a valid payment address.

Please use a mainnet Bitcoin or Lightning payment request

(and it doesn't open a channel on Eclair either)
