Phishy Merit!

On December 2, I have earned a Merit from (Bitcoin Forum) for (Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored). I do not know which is this topic where I have never posted. When I open the Merit giver profile, my own profile is opening and when I open the topic for which the merit is given, there is no such topic. How is this possible? Who gave me that merit? I am confused

Am I scammed? Please help me, what should I do?

Everyone who participates in the caption thing that DdmrDdmr mentioned will received 1 from bitcoin forum. Those who didn't participate won't received merit. I also received 1 merit from bitcoin forum same as you. I think it's only normal since there's no exact post that will be merited that's why the topic is deleted/off-limits/ignored) plus the merit is from the forum but since there is no profile for bitcoin forum then when you click the sender it would only redirect to your profile.

So when theymos wanted to give merits without using his main account, he'll use this directory, Merit from (Bitcoin Forum) for (Deleted/Off-limits/Ignored)?
Agreed, the default profile link is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile even you put zero on it;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=000000 it will just go to your profile because the bitcoin forum itself has no personal uid.

I've already seen at least 2 other threads on this same subject. I wish people would use more the search feature...

I also got that merit but didn't have any clue from where that came that but now i know the real story. Its seems that everyone is being merited either he participated in the  drawing contest or caption activity.

The last paragraph explains the random merits sent by “Bitcoin Forum” not the caption voting event, which is what OP asked for.
