Hey Guys,

I have a problem, my first problem which i just found out is that im using JAXX as a wallet for mining and I shouldn't be. The main problem is my BTC wallet in JAXX will not initialize, and their help topics say i need a full node wallet to confrim the transactions. This is WAY outta my current understanding. I have a fair bit of money I dont want to loose so i need to make sure i do this right and not loose it.

Need help!

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

It's non-custodial yet they process deposits like an Exchange Roll Eyes
From the help page, do you mean option 3?:
3. If all the above fail, you'll need to use a full node wallet, install it on a computer and sync the respective blockchain locally (those type of wallets are generally called qt wallets). Once that is done, you'll need to Import the Private Keys of the Jaxx Wallet addresses that you have balances on and initiate the transaction from that wallet instead of the Jaxx Wallet.
Instead of using a full node client, just use Electrum.

Download from the official page: electrum.org, install/open then create a new wallet using the option:
Standard->I already Have a seed->paste your 12-word backup phrase, click option, check BIP39->
next, Select "legacy" if your addresses starts with '1', nested-segwit if '3' and native segwit if 'bc1', then continue.

After creating the wallet, wait for a few minutes to sync the headers, then you can send the funds to another newly created wallet or keep using that wallet (not recommended).
Note: you can create more than one wallet on Electrum (new/restore).

Yea.. like nc50lc said, go with Electrum instead.

Jaxx has been pretty unsecure in the past in the first place and they had some controversy about them not willing to fix some vulnerability, so I definitely wouldn't trust it with my funds.

OP might have replied to a wrong thread: (Topic: lost google authenticator app)

im at the seed part but....My backup seed? sorry?

that my public key? private key? 12 word phrase?
@IVIindless That's your "backup phrase" that you can get from Jaxx's menu->tools->backup wallet.
It's BIP39 seed so it'll work in Electrum using the correct option.

Do not show it to anyone as it's literally your whole wallet.

Why not Core? Or do you want your Bitcoin to go straight to exchange after you found a block?

If your only issue is to make sure you can access your coins as soon as you got the reward then I think Electrum, as mentioned above, is good enough. But I'm not sure why don't you go for a full node if you indeed have a mining farm.

Depending on your experience level from the comments above, it is better before you launch that "BTC mining farm" to do research again and learn more. You can ask as many questions as you want on this board ----> Mining.

and I do not want this to happen again. Where should i have my BTC's go? Coinbase?
No, it's the worst option.
There are a lot of options available, you can answer some questions here that will help you choose the appropriate option ---> Choose your Bitcoin wallet.

Overall, Electrum is the best wallet on many platforms.
