It is pretty obvious that it won't make sense of investing those coins, you are just putting your money into nothing. Nobody would give interest to them, investors would probably skip these kinds of altcoins for they know that it won't give what they want.

But it would be difficult to be sure about it as people might be withdrawing it. For example no one would put a stacking coin in an exchange that does not provide the staking reward. But mostly they are the fake volume coins being bought and sold just to increase the trading volume so that they could come in spotlight.

When investing you're looking for liquidity with real demands and trading volume is not relevant if there's low or no liquidity at all because there are so many manipulated market as of now you can try to observe the trade orders. First you should research what kind of project concept this altcoin but since you want to make sure your money will grow I advise to stay away from this kind of altcoin since this have no liquidity or transaction happening in exchange site its better to pick altcoin with a high possibility to grain in the future.

It all depends on the type of coin or token, you should always do your own investment research because some coins may not have a lot of volume because they are very new or just starting, or are sleepers. I know one coin for example that I believe will be a very big project but just now got on Coinmarketcap and is getting on to the exchanges, so it will take time for it's volume to grow. You ALWAYS need to check on the project first. If you are a day trader of course, then it is better to pick high volume coins or tokens to trade, as that is more logical for short term trading practices and strategies.

Liquidity indicator is a good way to quickly notice exchanges and coins with fake volume, i am glad that coinmarketcap decided to take this step, it helps open my eye more, one thing is not all coins on coinmarketcap are good

99% of altcoins have less than 1million liquidity, And the top crypto's have about 1/10th or even smaller amount of liquidity than what's reported. The reason for this huge disparity is wash trading and market making.

CMC has taken a good step forward, but there is a lot of work to be done on making this data more apparent and their lack of filtering all these fake, scammy exchanges that are "trading billions of dollars of crypto daily."


Overall, there is no escaping wash trading in crypto. Almost every alt-coin out there has no real volume. Almost everything you see is manipulated to an extent. Your suspicions are correct, they do pump the volume of traders to think it's worth investing in the coin, or they have a group of whales that do pump their coin, but they will eventually dump the coin, so be watchful on coins that you are going to invest, check if the volume is indeed correct.

Most persons have already said it all, no liquidity absolutely means no demand, and a token which has no demand has no value. So the question is, would you invest in a coin with no value? Also, about if their volume is fake, frankly that what it means, for a token with no demand having huge volume says it all. Nowadays, to invest in any coin comes with huge carefulness and due diligence in order to be safe.

Sadly to say but plenty of them are just having a fake volumes. There many transactions history but no more liquidity? That will be a questionable yet truth for crypto traders.

There are so many altcoin projects out there, why would you want to invest in a project that in the first place they are trying to create fake news to deceive investors?
I will never invest in such coins, the majority of such projects will die in the future and people will lose money if investing in it.

You can actually figure out whether a coin have fake 24 hour trading volume or not by seeing the trade history of that coin and that's really easy. there's no need to check their social media or whatever it is but instead see if the orders are just buy and sell repeatedly within the same price it's basically a manipulated market and see whether there are buy orders or not. Most of the coin that got its market manipulated only have active trading activities at certain time.

That's exactly right, and it really sucks that some exchanges are being so dishonest about the volume of certain shit coins.  And last I read, there were over 3000 altcoins in existence and I'd bet that at least half of them, and probably more, have close to zero trading volume across all the exchanges they're listed on.  I'm not exactly sure why exchanges fake volume except maybe to make it look like they're more successful in attracting traders, but it does no good to someone trying to trade one of these coins with no liquidity.

If any of you have never used yobit, I would suggest going there and having a look at all the coins they have listed.  Most of them don't trade at all and have wallets which are always in maintenance mode so the coins can't be withdrawn.  I don't know why yobit doesn't delist them all, but if you look at all of them there's absolutely no liquidity whatever with most of the coins.  And they usually trade for 1 sat.

I think that we need to turn our attention to the volumes obtained, or rather, as a result of which these volumes were obtained. Some projects simply increase volumes with the help of trading bots, which means where will the liquidity of such tokens come from? Moreover, it is very easy to see the wrapping by trading boti, which means these tokens already have problems. Of course, this tells us that there is no point in investing in such tokens, since there is already a fraud, and if there is a fraud, then where is the guarantee that the owners of these tokens will not deceive the community. I would recommend avoiding such crypto assets.

I am personally of the opinion that the higher the trading volume of a project, the better the project for investing purposes. they only provide indicators and focus more on the exchange first and then the coins that are traded there, they cannot determine anything else. the best way is to not attract interest at all and only see coins with a clear daily volume. You can check fake volume transaction or not by access to their exchange market, you can see how much buy and sell order with some coin, I think coin market cap have given correct information about some coin listed which one exchange market and how much transaction volume of this altcoin, I always get coin market site giving correct information about price and volume transaction of altcoin.

The discussion about trading exchanges faking their volumes is already reaching the majority of the population in the crypto world. And it is already an accepted truth. Trading exchanges are faking volumes to make it appear as if they have the liquidity that traders need in order to have a smooth buy and sell orders. In reality, trading calls are made by bots. Worth? Not at all I think. An alts that has no liquidity but suspiciously has a big volume is already weird as it is.
So, I think it's safe to assume that the volume in there were mostly fake, as to make to alts more popular by having a large volume, but when you checked them thoroughly it has no liquidity and real volume. for the short term, it is very unprofitable. because altcoin without liquidity is very slow to move, because they focus on the product and its development first, then will focus on the price. even if all else fails, the price is not guaranteed. means it's very risky whether it's for the short term or long term.

If there is no liquidity allow the volume is false because there is no demand against the coin. But it could be though there is no good demand their coin is riding slowly very well because it is assisted by the dev that often controls the price in the market. Yes most of those volumes are fake. Even in past there were many exchanges found guilty of falsifying their daily trading volume and this affects users a lot. Many a times when I was new in Crypto I used to buy coins for arbitrage, but on many exchanges I wasn't able to sell the coins that I brought and this made me lose money many a times,because when I transfered my coins to the exchange with a high price then those were unable to sell just because of no demand at all for those coins.

Yes most of those volumes are fake. Even in past there were many exchanges found guilty of falsifying their daily trading volume and this affects users a lot. Many a times when I was new in Crypto I used to buy coins for arbitrage, but on many exchanges I wasn't able to sell the coins that I brought and this made me lose money many a times,because when I transfered my coins to the exchange with a high price then those were unable to sell just because of no demand at all for those coins.

In 90% of cases, the answer is yes. CMC only shows the analyzed data from the API of exchanges for specific pairs. If the exchange uses the trading bot which buys/sells and adds fake order to the order book, the average daily volume will be above the other listed exchanges. Most if not all newer tokens/coins have no use-ability. They are un-spendable. Even if the toke/coin is tied to a project that actually has a product that has a use case.
