Merits are a requirement for you to rank up from one rank to another. And after every 2 merits you receive, you get 1 sMerit, which can be used to merit someone else. That's the closest you can get to "using merit".

But how do I use this merit?

Merits are not used, but they reflect the rank of a user; 9 more would get you to member rank (with the required activity, 99 more would make you a full member.
Merits also generate sendable merits (smerits) which are given to other members, each merit generates half the amount in smerits, you have 0.5 smerits now, but it doesn't reflect on your profile, if you earn one more, you would have 1 smerit.

It’s a fair question, that may likely have been asked before, and may still bear for many people. There are currently 12.089 forum profiles that have been awarded a single Merit (generating therefore 0,5 sMerits). Now some of them may have received some additional sMerits in the initial airdrop, but even so, the figure is likely pretty large of those with a virtual 0,5 sMerits to send in their account after receiving their first merit, wondering how to be able to send it.

Since the above posts have explained that fractional sMerits are not sendable, have a go at the 1 sMerit experience (2 Merits -> 1 sMerit) …

Note: God plays little part in the Merit System (unless you are referring to @theymos who, in a sense, plays that role in the game). A more terraneal approach would be to thank @BL46K 7193R, and whoever was in a good mood today to give you a second merit. Now find a good post to merit ...

You currently received one merit,you need one more merit to have a sMerit.Then you will see something like this.


When you click merit button new window will open like this.


Then enter the number and click send button to merit any post you wanted to merit.

Merit is the forum's new policy to limit spam accounts. Merit is also used to increase your ranking on the forum.
If you get 2 Merit you will get 1 smerit, you can use this 1 smerit to compliment the forum's helpful posts. By Merit policy the forum is trying to limit spam accounts and promote accounts that contribute to the community.

You don't, it just allow to progress to higher ranks when time is right.
You should focus on quality of your posts always and helping people.
Then merit will come by itself

If you get 2 merit, you will have 1 smerit. You can only use 1 smerit sent to one of the other people on this forum you feel good. With 1 merit, you do not have smerit to use.

If you like any post informative, you can give Merit to it as you have 1 smerit with you. When you give merit to others, they will also be happy as you are happy on getting the merits.

You don't have to use merit because it cannot be use to whatever you want but it is needed to rank up from jr. member up to legendary. Each rank requires different merit count from jr. member up to legendary rank. What you can do with your merit is to send or reward. Each time you got 1 merit you also get 0.5 smerit but the smerit can only be sent when it is 1 smerit either by sending it to one forum user, by merit contest/giveaway.

By now, you already knew how to use your sMerits as consequence of help for the others. I have only one more thing to tell you.

After you finish your merit give away with your sMerits, you have to close the your merit page. Refresh it sometimes creates 'nearly' double spend of your sMerits. For starter like you, I believe each sMerit is precious so I don't think you want to lose one or two sMerits by refreshing your merit page.

It is a bug and already fixed with a notification if one send same amount of merit to one post in a fixed period (from 1 to 2 minutes, I don't remember).

Don't refresh your merit page after sending merits, close it instead!

He has only 1 smerit and everyone is suggesting him to spend that smerit. Well, there is nothing wrong in it but the main focus of the OP to get more merits and that can only be done by constructive posts and avoiding the mega spam topics. Merit won't be easy to come by but they will come as long as the OP does not lose hope and continue the quality work.

Same thing as, merits can turn spammers/shitposters into a good quality posters.

Anyway @OP, just try to be natural in every post you make, and don't beg or fish for merits. You'll know how important the knowledge you can get in this community than the merit you get in the long run.

Congrats, use it wisly buddy. All have already mentioned how to send etc., I would se spend it for something reallly worth. Now that you have 2 merits you will be able to send 1 merit.
