If you buy 5000$ worth of BTC and the price of BTC doubles you get double in profit.
If you buy 7500$ worth of BTC and the price of BTC doubles you get double in profit.

Same for any amount of BTC, you don't have to buy a full BTC!

As for OP,
If you have been around this forum for almost a year and you're asking if you can buy bitcoin or not...I doubt any of the above responses will be able to help your cause.

You can do that if you predict the price or bitcoin to rise. Unfortunately, no one can predict when it will happen again. So you better play safe and focus temporarily on the alt coins rather than bitcoin. Bitcoin still have the possibility to reach or overlap its price since 2017 from $10k.

For now, hold some of altcoins since there is no chance for bitcoin to develop nowadays. Maybe 8 to 10 years from now, but we're hoping for a fast comeback.

If you are experience crypto trader then it's fine to start with this huge money else my honest advice is to learn crypto trading first. A newbie coming with such huge money with little or no knowledge of trading may end my losing majority part of his investment. Good luck

Its actually hard to a new traders to start with that amount. Op should know the possiblity of what is possible to happen. If he only invested in BTC just to increase that a wrong idea , many people do that before but instead of profit they lost because they are buying at high price.
Even the price is stable right there is no way people will know what will be the market movement.

Well the guy's willing to spend 5k in bitcoin. It's okay to ask other people's opinion, especially here where a lot of people can be considered as experienced traders and crypto users for the longest time. I think the question is pretty simple as to where he can get btc with his funds. He probably has an idea but want other people's suggestion as well. The only thing for me is, don't base the decision on what others say. Keep their tips in consideration but make your own decision based on your own research and study.

its hard to determine the right time, sometimes the longer we think of waiting for the right time, its value will increase from time to time. I often experience this when I want to buy bitcoin and sometimes doubt, often delaying getting the right time. if in doubt partial buy is a good way. we can only see the potential going forward, so now is also the right time to buy.

Some may find it odd that the OP asks such a question, but the fact that someone has been on the forum for almost 8 months does not mean that he has learned something, especially since he spends his time on bounties. So it's no wonder he needs advice, maybe about how and where to buy, or about the eternal question "should I invest in BTC now, or wait for a better price?".

My advice to him is to not invest such money in something which he obviously doesn't understand enough. It may be easy to invest in BTC, but what about the security of those coins? $5000 worth of BTC is not something you should keep in desktop/mobile wallet, not to mention the risk of online wallets.

Learn what it is, how to use it and how to be your own bank, then invest - everything else is wrong.

learning the basic can become your foundation in crypto and avoid being shaken by other people speculation or opinion
there are incoming halving next year and i think this is really a right time to buy bitcoin but don't invest all in one time and monitor the market

5000$ is a pretty big investment for everyone. I think it is enough to invest in BTC. When I started participating in this market, I only had over 1000$ to buy BTC and altcoin

First of all ask yourself a question. Can you live by even if you completely lose these $5000? Would your financial position be solid after losing these $5000? If the answer is yes then comes the procedure of buying Bitcoins using these $5000. The procedure of buying depends more or less from country to country but If you are from US you can buy it from Coinbase. Then use 80% of your funds to buy bitcoin. Use Remaining 20% to buy some cryptocurrencies which are low valued but popular like TRX, ChainLink, Stellar etc. This way your investment would be pretty secure and you would be able to move with the market.

If you really want to buy bitcoin then probably you must have first and online wallet in order to buy bitcoin in some exchangers. Just for example in my country I am using coins.ph which is a online wallet that provides an exchanger which you can buy bitcoin anytime as long as you have an account and you have enough ID to verify your identity. Buying bitcoin in a very large amount is very risky and it is better to just ask some tips and guidelines because at the end of the day you will be the one who will decide for your money.
