It's about that time of year. It only happens once per year. "Bitcoin Week" ... it really seems like it should be a thing doesnt it?

Can you please come up with some statistics to prove that there is Bitcoin week from Dec 22-28? I m sure you dont have any concrete evidence to prove that.
I think its just a FUD and nothing more. Everyone is advised not to pay any attention to such speculations.

The price surge of bitcoin is spread throughout the year. I do not think there is a single week that has a significant surge and consistent enough to be coined as Bitcoin week. Besides, December is already a busy week month, squeezing bitcoin week into it makes it more crowded of events.

No doubt on the halving event, that will obviously affect the market but we don't yet if it will be a negative or positive this time since it is still uncertain. Hopefully it will be still positive towards the price.

In the short term it depends on how many speculative sellers there are left, but these sellers will run out of coins to sell. Looking at where we bottomed out, we are only 120% above that bottom right now. Realistically speaking there shouldn't be many sellers left, but we have enough time to shake the few of them out before the halving and still have a positive halving price wise.

Going by the current hashrate it seems that miners are quite comfortable sitting this correction out. Interesting aspect of futures platforms is that miners can easily hedge against price declines and actually even out the paper loss of mining unprofitably. Great for them and great for Bitcoin security wise.

Historically Bitcoin has always done well before and after the halving so there is no reason to expect something different to happen until it actually happens.

I don't see that bitcoin week is kind of real because just like what you have been said there is a lot of times that bitcoin is growing or pumping and not only in a single week which is you called the bitcoin week. Month of december is a busy month and this occur the supply and demand situation which is the demand of bitcoin is getting high because many people wants to have a bitcoin in the month of december because christmas break is coming so the demand becomes high and the supply becomes low because many people are not selling their bitcoins so I don't think that bitcoin surge on a specific week only.

People buy a lot of bitcoins during those holiday times.

All nuzzled up all comfy in clean warm clothes, sitting on comfy couch next to the tree glowing, the scent of pine in the air, sipping hot chocolate! Might as well buy some coin on your laptop. Buy, hold, whatever it is...

So should we coin this and put a stamp on it?
This is crazy! It's opposite of what actually happened. It is the last time of the year. And I think people will sell large amounts of bitcoin. As usual, the bitcoin price will drop slightly by 5-10% at the end of the year and it will return in the first quarter of next year. The value of bitcoin depends on the general trend of the world, especially, the most influential countries like China often sell a lot of bitcoins at the end of the year.

every end of the year we are shocked by the price itself many of the most appropriate assumptions are sell because every December 24 - January 2 is a holiday time ,we will spoil this body for a vacation so everyone will sell a little for the benefit of their children too but all of that outs certainly because we are always surprised by enthusiasts crypto

People buy a lot of bitcoins during those holiday times.

This is weird and hard to explain because the holidays are a time when people take a break and spend money. In which Christmas is one of the most important holidays, people need Fiat to buy food and a variety of gifts. So around this time people tend to sell bitcoins for cash.
What was it that made bitcoin soaring in that period of time?

I think they're still so many bad hands holding bitcoin that are there for the wrong reasons and only to increase their dirty fiat amount will be the ones who sell bitcoin to buy dumb crap for other people to buy dumb crap back for them. I will spend bitcoin this Christmas only because of the sales. I don't do presents and gifts because it is just commercial bs. I just eat good food and stay with friends and family. People don't even have money but buy dumb shit for other people on Christmas putting them into even more debt. I am so glad I have never bee in debt in my life.

We have supporters should if anything buy crypto for people for the Christmas gift. Much more useful than whatever you wanted to buy them.

People's perceptions vary about whether there is a good week for bitcoin and before nearing the end of the year and there is a possibility that bitcoin users will celebrate Christmas, which certainly requires fiat to buy necessities and gifts to celebrate Christmas and it is possible to sell bitcoin for their needs .
and besides that we will face the turn of the year to celebrate and some plans to go on vacation and all who need fiat and there is a possibility will sell it and all that does not mean spend bitcoin but only use what is needed.
and but that doesn't mean everyone celebrates Christmas and welcomes a special new year, so we'll see what happens in a few weeks about bitcoin.

I don't think masses will join until we hit ATH and the problem is that we kinda need masses for the next ATH so....

well, all hope in institutions, which don't seem to be coming in large numbers yet

I hope someday we will stop paying attention to such weeks. After all, Bitcoin deserves every week to be like this! Buy and hold, guys!

We couldn't be so sure about it there is a lot of possibilities,
And besides Bitcoin and other crypto has showed it before no matter how much we expect it to rise up it could also go down rapidly so we couldn't be so sure that it would be a Bitcoin week or a week where the price would go up.

I think people are actually selling more than buying at this time of year, at least those who celebrate Christmas and New Year. Most will actually spend some BTC (by selling for fiat/or directly) to buy gifts, food and drink, decorations and all that is being bought this time of year.

People actually buy BTC long before so they can sell it and make a profit in this period, and this was a good strategy this year as well, at least for those who bought in the first few months of this year, they doubled their money.
Dont forget its a 2 way thing, I wanted to argue as well but I thought If there are no sellers there wont be buyers so you are both right on higher trade at this time. The motive at this time may just be different, some are to take profit while some are to accumulate for the next bull. Buyers at this time are just smarter than sellers.

This is definitely the time of the year when people love giving out gifts to other people. Bitcoin makes for a great gift and can be used to purchase other items like gift cards, travel, movie tickets, clothes and toys.

If you are thinking of a gift to give to a loved one I would recommend giving them a hardware wallet so they can keep their Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies secure.

I think in the last week of December people would rather spend their vacation time gathering with family to celebrate Christmas and the new year and stop thinking about bitcoin.
Every effort has been made so far this year to benefit from bitcoin investments. in the last week of the year I would choose to close my laptop and take a break from the crypto world. I will gather with family and have fun and pray that next year the price of bitcoin can increase.
but if indeed at the end of the week the price of bitcoin goes up then I will be very happy and will sell some for my holiday with my family.

I don't think that the end of the year is really the days when people buy, it's holiday so instead of buying bitcoins they are into buying gifts, presents and spending it to something they like. Well, bitcoin can be the choice for others but not the majority of them.

Wise people that gets their bonus would spend it to investments instead of extravagant and pleasure items. There are generous folks that are also sending gifts in bitcoin during this season but it's undetermine to say that it only happens during this holidays season.

I think the amount of coins sold for buying gifts is negligible and doesn't affect prices - after all, what kind of investors sells their assets just because they want to spend some money? They're supposed to hold only a portion of their net worth in assets and always have some spare cash.

My explanation why the price goes down during holidays (which actually doesn't happen all the time) is because traders take vacations during those times, and they liquidate volatile assets because they won't be able to react quickly if there would be a market change.

I think its because holiday season is really costly. You really opt to spend to give gifts and buy foods. December is really the most expensive month. If that would be the case, most likely many will sell there bitcoin. Some goes to vacation and family gatherings. Most people are really busy in this season. It may possibly affect the price of bitcoin amd I just hope for the best everyday.

People buy a lot of bitcoins during those holiday times.

Indeed, also if OP based it on what he observed last year, it is probably because the majority of us bought bitcoin last December thinking that in this year, bitcoin will skyrocket again and make another All Time High price but it didn't, and it could be repeated over and over again because we have our own predictions about bitcoin's bull run, moreover, it isn't that bad to buy bitcoin in this so called "Bitcoin week" by OP since bitcoin is still in the deep.

I myself is celebrating Christmas and New year too, but selling Bitcoin ain't none of my plan to use it to buy stuff for the celebration. It's pointless to hold when you sell it in a much cheaper price just because you want to celebrate like there is no tomorrow lol.
Anyway, Christmas season doesn't always affect the price in a negative way. If you remember 2017.
