Straight from their Web site: RagerX is an all-in-one RandomX Mining Solution So what is RagerX? It is a miner, an operating system, and a pool.
RagerX is built from the ground up to make RandomX mining easy. We provide an optimized miner that boots off a thumbdrive, and an integrated mining pool. We also provide a flasher utility to make the process of setting up RagerX simple.
All of our pool interfaces are built as a Progressive Web Application (PWA) which means you can install the pool interface directly to your desktop or mobile device. You're able to easily view your miner status from anywhere in the world. We even have a Telegram bot to notify you when something changes.
Most of all, RagerX is the fastest RandomX miner available. Due to our optimized mining operating system, we can deliver up to a 10% speed increase. Your miner will even automatically update when new optimizations become available. Source: RagerX.lol web site Check it out! https://monero.ragerx.lol/z3pmi5I've also created a quick start video guide to help you out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eFAq2YgxTI*I am not affiliated with the RagerX team, just a beta tester, miner, and crypto fan*

interesting miner software.... but; I am mainly commenting because you did not link the source. No sense on being banned for plagiarism by not linking the source page you cut/paste from.

XMR just forked to RandomX POW. It’s optimized for cpu mining, gpu mining XMR is basically a waste of electricity at this point.

If that's a response to my comment, I'm well aware of that. My point is you'd have to be insane to buy a high end CPU to dedicate to mining XMR, which is what this boot-from-usb requires, unless I'm missing something. Using spare CPU capacity on a gaming machine or whatever I can understand, although breakeven on electric is another question...

I’m not claiming mining anything is profitable for everyone at this point in the market.

Too many red flags. The shill was a nice touch. There's no market for your^h^h^h^h this product. No one in their right mind would lock themselves into such a closed system. Therefore you^h^h^h it must be targetting the naive, which also suggests a hidden agenda. Anything could be hidden in that OS. Sure, just give me a bootable USB image and just boot it up in my home network without any worries. A bootable image bypasses any autorun checks or AV scanning, it just boots and start doing it's thing, whatever that is. This has ill-intent written all over it, stay away.

Creators of XMR Stak? Well, they're doing it wrong all of a sudden then...
Mistake 1 - Dedicated OS
Makes sense for coins mineable with GPU mining rigs, but most home miners are using their computers for mining Random X coins that they need to be able to do a lot of other things on. So, any RandomX miner hoping to get widely adopted would have to work with mainstream operating systems.
And let me guess, to get the 10% speedup, this OS is required. To eliminate it would mean to lose the 10% gain.
Mistake 2 - exclusive pool, high fee
This miner only works with its own pool. And there is a 3.5% fee. When other miners and pools offer a lesser fee combined, what's the point?
Fix these two issues, and then we can talk. But I bet that they won't do it because they know that if they do, they won't have a noticeably faster miner than XMRig.

There's no 10% speedup - they straight up lie here. XMRig 5.2.0 gives the same or better hashrate on properly tuned Linux and even Windows (see https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/comments/e9tuvd/randomx_boost_guide_for_ryzen_on_windows_9100_hs/). Basically, set up large/huge pages, MSR mod, no programs running in the background, and you're good without using some closed source ecosystem.

That's a load of crap. They claim to be faster than xmr-stak. But you're right that xmr-stak have a good reputation, it's because they don't do shit like this..

You didn’t DYOR. Look at the xmr-stak team’s github https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stakYou’ll find RagerX written about there.

You didn’t DYOR. Look at the xmr-stak team’s github https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stakYou’ll find RagerX written about there. I did my research already that's why I initially posted my concerns here. fireiceuk only has a link to the RagerX website. There nothing written about it unless you include the promotional link icon, which has the fees reversed BTW. RagerX web site never mentions xmr-stak, conveniently left out of their miner comparison, hmmm. At most they might have a business relationship, but it's not very tight with no cross-promotion. Like I said in the first line of my first post, there are too many red flags. That was the conclusion of my research and why I posted. You assumed, incorrectly, I hadn't, and also assumed, again incorrectly, RagerX was develeopped by fireiceuk. I have nothing more to say about it. Use it you want but you should stop shilling for it.

That's totally my point, exactly. I don't get who 'RagerX' is aimed at. Dedicated OS on a thumb drive is great for GPU rigs, but RandomX just doesn't stack up like that, and wasn't designed to either. The whole shilling/weird link from Fireice github/is it any good debate seems a bit secondary to the fact that I don't see a use case/demand for this at all. Happy to be proven wrong/educated, but I don't get it.

GPU support will be added and other coins also (if you visited main page, you would have noticed it) More coins will be added soon. Do you have a request for a coin on a RandomX variant? Hop into our Telegram channel and let us know!
