Probable Scam

The Neon C04 is a Photoshop job of an Intel NIC:

Not a very good photoshop either. The device is exactly the same except for the ports airbrushed out and their logo put on it.

You guys are definitely right in pointing out that the product photo is not in fact an actual finished product photo, otherwise we would be shipping now.  In our rush to launch our website quickly, we tried to select an existing product that most resembles our final product, which apparently was a big mistake.  That said, our Neon16/Neon50 are actual product photos from our hardware system supplier.  We are currently moving as fast as we can to finalize our chip design by month end, so that we can start PCB design and fab a prototype board.

Again, our team has had deep experience designing ASIC (http://blissdevices.com/about-our-team, www.linkedin.com/in/pchen408) and are 100% focused on getting the chip to production.  In the future, we will be careful not to provide any misleading product photos.

How can we trust you? Why would I put my money into your hand? Unless I can use my Visa, there is no way I am buying that. Why would you be afraid of people buying with their credit card anyway...

Due to increased regulation and digital currency as a potential threat to its market, banks have made it exceptionally hard for cryptocurrency mining hardware startups to accept payments by credit card and will even shut down corporate accounts, so that's why you'll notice why many other companies in our space do not accept credit cards either. That said, we strongly believe cryptocurrency is the future and are doing our part to pave the way to making this happen for everyone.

If any of you are in the Bay Area, I will be at this cryptocurrency event tonight, https://www.facebook.com/events/510990199010548, and would be more than happy to meet and answer any questions regarding the product or our current progress.

You know, the other interesting thing about payments via Crypto/Wire/ACH? They are non-reversible. There is zero payer side protection.

You have no actual pictures of your hardware (aside from obviously photoshopped images of someone else's stock products with a bad blur filter applied, and your logo pasted on).

Completely unrealistic power numbers with buzz words like '28nm process' thrown in.

Smells like bullshit to me.  Angry

Actual hardware photos cannot be provided at this time since we do not yet have product (else we would be shipping!).  The longest bottleneck in the production cycle is the ASIC itself, not the hardware, which is all off-the-shelf and drastically reduces the risk of inventory shortages.  A PCB board cannot be fab'ed without knowing the entire chip specs, else it would be worthless.  That process itself is fairly standard in our case since we do not have extreme power requirements (a standard 4 layer board will do) as with Bitcoin ASICs.

The power numbers came from our backend vendor, a reliable Taiwanese firm who has also had experience in taping out Bitcoin chips, which we will be announcing soon through a press release.  In fact, the estimates were even lower, but again we would rather be a bit more conservative than overpromise.

Well I certainly hope I'm wrong, I'd love to see you bring an actual product to market. But, at this point, there is absolutely no way I would order from you with any method other than a credit card.

I mean, really? Not only is the PCIe card a simulacrum, but the two other pictures are similar to ten year old server and desktop cases that no one sells anymore. Who in their right mind pays crypto today, for a promise of crypto mining proceeds tomorrow? The answer is, only a fool would do it... and frankly, for any of this to be even remotely feasible, alts would have to increase in value 10x to 100x what they are worth today to have this make any sense at all (and if you think they will be worth that, why would you spend them today on something like this?)...

It's about time for this community to say 'NO' to these manufacturers once and for all. If you have a product on the shelf ready to ship to me, announce it, sell it and deliver it. Until then, our mining dollars are going to be spent on what can get us any return we can muster today.

Do I care if it's a GPU or an ASIC? Not really, if it mines and is available, I'll buy it and use it. GPUs? Sure, I can buy those - let's mine with them. ASICs? I can buy gridseed ASICs all day long and have them here in two days and mine with those too! I know, generally, what kind of return I can get from them without projecting 6 months into the future when I *might* have my miner online... so I need to ask why us folks are not asking 'Why?'

  • Why would I give you $1400 (or $14K for that matter) for a promise of an on-time-delivered-product (that no single manufacturer in the last three years has ever been able to deliver upon) and an emailed receipt with no hope of a refund if you fail?
  • Why would I buy a 'possible' rig from you when I have no idea what the value of the coins it can mine will be in 6 months to a year? A historical graph of values? There's a reason proper investment firms are forbidden from offering such conjecture...
  • Why would I buy a 'possible' rig from you when I have ZERO clue how hard it might be to mine the coins it will be able to produce?

Now, anyone that has answers to these questions, please PM me so I can borrow your time machine to have a look for myself. As far as letting you borrow my money for 6 months with a wink and a receipt, well, I'd much prefer a gentle, warm swipe of KY with my session, sir.

Sorry to disappoint, but I think my rant is over now. What ever happened to companies that produce something useful to sell, then advertise to sell it? I have to hand it to the GridSeed folks for that, at least - they didn't do a whole lot of promotion (just the website - no pre-orders, thank you very much!) - worked on their product, produced it, then offered it for sale to the public.

I'll go back to mining now with my hybrid GPU/ASIC farm and grab one of your units when it hits some reputable reseller for half it's cost because by the time it does launch, either diffs are so high that it makes payouts from BTC mining look like a jackpot at the Indian Reservation or prices have tanked so badly from the shitcoin raping that is going on that no one in their right mind will trade a satoshi for a billion DOGE.

I lied... my rant is over, now.

Attention Please:

Victims of bankrupt bitcoin miner company Hashfast will recognize Abram Kottmeier in Bliss Devices' promotional youtube video. Kottmeier is linked to male prostitution in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as to a hardcore pornography company specializing in extreme torture-like abuse porn. Be very careful with this company.  I wouldn't touch anything having to do with Kottmeier with a 10 meter pole.

For more information, read up in the main Hashfast thread in the bitcoin mining hardware section.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers
