I mean, really? Not only is the PCIe card a simulacrum, but the two other pictures are similar to ten year old server and desktop cases that no one sells anymore. Who in their right mind pays crypto today, for a promise of crypto mining proceeds tomorrow? The answer is, only a fool would do it... and frankly, for any of this to be even remotely feasible, alts would have to increase in value 10x to 100x what they are worth today to have this make any sense at all (and if you think they will be worth that, why would you spend them today on something like this?)...
It's about time for this community to say 'NO' to these manufacturers once and for all. If you have a product on the shelf ready to ship to me, announce it, sell it and deliver it. Until then, our mining dollars are going to be spent on what can get us any return we can muster today.
Do I care if it's a GPU or an ASIC? Not really, if it mines and is available, I'll buy it and use it. GPUs? Sure, I can buy those - let's mine with them. ASICs? I can buy gridseed ASICs all day long and have them here in two days and mine with those too! I know, generally, what kind of return I can get from them without projecting 6 months into the future when I *might* have my miner online...
so I need to ask why us folks are not asking 'Why?'
- Why would I give you $1400 (or $14K for that matter) for a promise of an on-time-delivered-product (that no single manufacturer in the last three years has ever been able to deliver upon) and an emailed receipt with no hope of a refund if you fail?
- Why would I buy a 'possible' rig from you when I have no idea what the value of the coins it can mine will be in 6 months to a year? A historical graph of values? There's a reason proper investment firms are forbidden from offering such conjecture...
- Why would I buy a 'possible' rig from you when I have ZERO clue how hard it might be to mine the coins it will be able to produce?
Now, anyone that has answers to these questions, please PM me so I can borrow your time machine to have a look for myself. As far as letting you borrow my money for 6 months with a wink and a receipt, well, I'd much prefer a gentle, warm swipe of KY with my session, sir.
Sorry to disappoint, but I think my rant is over now. What ever happened to companies that produce something useful to sell, then advertise to sell it? I have to hand it to the GridSeed folks for that, at least - they didn't do a whole lot of promotion (just the website - no pre-orders, thank you very much!) - worked on their product, produced it, then offered it for sale to the public.
I'll go back to mining now with my hybrid GPU/ASIC farm and grab one of your units when it hits some reputable reseller for half it's cost because by the time it does launch, either diffs are so high that it makes payouts from BTC mining look like a jackpot at the Indian Reservation or prices have tanked so badly from the shitcoin raping that is going on that no one in their right mind will trade a satoshi for a billion DOGE.
I lied... my rant is over, now.
