Would you be willing to trade your location, name, and any other private and personal details over BTCitcoin? Yes? No? Why? I know many of us have already submitted countless documents to various cryptocurrency exchanges just to pass their KYC process and comply with AML but how far would someone be willing to give up just to get a part of that precious BTCitcoin?
It depends on what the other party is using the identity data form. As long as they're just holding it for KYC and not malicious things, I'm okay with it, even more when there's BTC on the line. For example: exchange couraging users to KYC by giving away Bitcoin? Yeah I would sign up to that. I would also look at the other party capability to keep my data safely. If they seem capable and trusted, I would do it.

It always depend on the situation because there are other entities also that are paying for our privacy for their own benefits, so in this case even if they are willing to give a huge amount of bitcoin I will not trade my personal details to them as there is a big chance that they are going to use it in shady transactions. But if for example in an exchange, I am willing to cooperate especially if they are doing it for our own good as there is a very low chance that they will leak our personal details as it will backfire to them also and they will loss their profit if it will happen. But so far, only in our local exchange that I gave my personal details.

If the payment is reasonable, I would take the risk. just like doing some dangerous job, you need to risk your life. In this case, you only need to risk your Identity. well, that's kinda easy compared to bet your life on some dangerous job. For some users, they won't give their personal information because the price is not enough to cover their loses. that's why we have our own point of view regarding KYCs.

Well I already given my identities to exchanges and projects that requires KYC, so I do not think it will make any difference if I submitted it to get paid in BTC as long as it is not used in illegal means. What is it to have a second thought about it when we already done that several times?

In my case I have done so many KYC or submitted some kyc in order to pass the criteria of some exchangers in which I have been able to sent my personal information to the platform just to use the exchanger, and it feels annoying because here in cryptocurrency privacy is one of the precious way that we don't need to give in order to remain in our private life. If we will be able to choose one thing between our privacy and bitcoin I will still choose our privacy because it is also for our safety measures and etc. I will never do again revealing my identity just for a piece of bitcoin and this would probably will do by the same people just to protect their identity.

I remember how blockchain.com promoted XLM because they've listed it on their wallet and asked for KYC just to be eligible to receive $25 worth of XLM as an airdrop.
And if that's in bitcoin, no doubt that many would love to join the craze and fill the KYC to get those precious bitcoin reward. But it will also depend on the platform that's conducting that KYC and if it is not trusted, many will not join.

I already send my document to the exchanges, so the answer is yes. But I only want to send the document to the recommended exchange, which has a reputation. I don't mind to do that because I know that is part of using the exchanges for searching more money from the exchanges.
But if the document is only used to participate in the bounty campaign to get some reward from the project, I think I will think twice before I send the document. I don't know that the project can protect the user or participant or investor data, so I will search for another info about that. I will make sure that they don't use the document for illegal things or something wrong.

It's not only about trusting a 3rd party and to be afraid to have your information sold/hacked it's also about Big data. It's like with the loyalty card programs from the supermarket, they can know you and your family better than you. They know when your wife has her menstruation, they know what your children eat, how many showers per day you take, etc, etc. You can imagine a lot of stuff
Haha.I see what you are referring to,there is a lot of that stuff in our country.Though, who cares about these informations? I mean, I'm more concerned about people who share their entire life in social media,KYC etc.. purposely than knowing that some big company knows my daily habits.Actually,it starts getting dangerous when these companes make some stats/analysis of these collected out of that data and resell it to third parties to be used for advertisement targetting. Getting back to people who accept to give out personal info for some bullshit ico whitelisting or airdrop, meh, it's just my opinion, knowing how much paranoid a person can become,it's worth it.

In some sense yes, what I just need to verify if the site is using and following the universal protocol of protecting the identity of their users, including the proper encryption of data and passwords. As well as if they are somehow regulated. I don't really pass any KYC do decentralized platforms as for me it is quite risky though, trusting centralized sites might be so hard but with the compensation they are willing to provide especially if you have tokens to exchange, then it is worth to risk your privacy, and it might be a matter of luck if they will not use it against you in the future. So, make sure to gain, and make sure to accept the consequence as well.

it is odd that you mention these two in the same place since there is a huge difference between selling your privacy for bitcoin and going through KYC. selling your privacy is something like what blockchain.com has been doing, they ask you to submit your documents and in return they paid you some garbage altcoin and called that "free". otherwise going through KYC process for a regulated exchange is simply abiding by law and there is nothing wrong with that. you are doing it elsewhere too for example if you wanted to enter some other market, run a business,... so you are already not-private and focusing only on bitcoin is strange...

Its big NO for me, I can earn in another way , that is not needed that kind of thing, I would not exchange my identity for just money, because it can affect my whole life, and will destroy me, if that campaign is scam and not real, they can sell my info and the worst thing they can sell my identity for their own good, so its NO for me.

I will only verify KYC in exchanges that do have a good reputation. Because I believe a good exchange always has a good impact on our privacy as members. What often happens is the case of misuse of identity in exchanges that have a bad reputation or in new projects whose reputation is very bad.

Nowadays all crypto exchanges or other crypto services asking to the customer to complete the KYC to use the benefits of services as per AML rules. It will be helpful to trade your details over bitcoins other than this option there is no one can trade your details over the Bitcoin because it is a decentralized and it is very difficult to identify your personal details through bitcoin.

If trusted exchange market why not to submit KYC and give our located, name and any privacy data. When looking whit shit exchange market and not trusted better keep trading with little amount for withdrawing or looking for other exchange market to sell our coin without need KYC, some time I afraid when our privacy data for submitting KYC use for other thing.

maybe in the future we will see all crypto exchanges will require us to commit KYC or AML even today some of their governments also ask local crypto users to do KYC on the grounds to avoid money laundering or other crimes. and now I have also done KYC on a number of local exchanges just because I am sure that local exchanges will maintain my privacy well and will not be misused.

usually not all exchanges ask for KYC if withdrawals are below normal limits, but what gives KYC privacy is usually for investors who have big money and why should we do KYC we know a lot about the discussion of money laundering, maybe in this case you can see some exchanges also prevent people this and ask for their personal documents, but if you are only a small trader do not have to provide documents or you can go to DEX

I had done a number of KYC for some bounty and to register in some exchange, so providing some information for bitcoin might not be a problem for me. I would only disclose personal information if it is a trusted site or for a good purpose, but if not, I would not risk my credentials being disclosed.

Me also, I would choose in where do I pass my KYC, so far I did not encounter any problems about that. Better to pass KYC in campaign that is you are sure that will not use your KYC somewhere else, we can easily destinguish those fake and scam projects.

If you are using bitcoin and crypto for legitimate use then there is no harm in providing your credentials. But the real fun of cryptocurrency is using it with anonymity and many prefer to use it without sharing their credentials. I rarely participate in bounties/ICOs that require KYC, since I am not sure who is at the other end.

As for me, I am not gonna trade or risk my identification with Bitcoin. I undergo KYC only to trusted exchanges and nothing more. I don't pass KYC even in bounty campaigns before since I wanted to secure my identification as much as I can.
