I’ve been into Bitcoin since 2014. It’s always been my main thing, however I’ll admit I got swept up in the 2017 cycle and got burned on quite a few projects. I eventually consolidated back to 100% bitcoin.

Now I find myself in a situation where I really believe in Ethereum as the only other viable project. I’ve been accumulating Ether to the point where now I’m 80% BTC, 10% Eth and, 10% USDC (prepared to buy more BTC when the time is right).

I’m preparing for Eth 2.0 staking. I see all the Defi projects built on Eth. The stablecoins, the ecosystem. If Eth fell, it would bring a huge chunk of the crypto market down with it. So for this reason, I can’t see ethereum really disappearing. It’s the only crypto that I’ve actually used (I bought something with USDC, an ERC-20 token).

That said, I am concerned about those stolen $100million in Eth. That can depress the value of Eth for years. I’m concerned about the constant hard forking, the constant delay of Eth 2.0, and the general amateurish feeling of the project. I hate that Vitalik, and the ethereum foundation dumped their bags on people at the ATH.

Part of me wants to just sell my Eth for BTC and not look back. Another part of me wants to keep buying Eth as it goes down.

It would be better if you could give us a reference to all your concerns.

• $100M stolen eth - are you talking about the Eth's stolen from PlusToken's wallet? If yes, then there's nothing that can be done about it. The dumping continues and will keep on going until those stolen eths are sold out. You can take advantage of what's happening now though if you are for long term.
• Hardforking & constant delay - I would rather call it "network upgrade" but yeah the delay for the launching of ethereum 2.0 is is also delaying the growth of eth both in development and in price. I read that it could be postponed until 2021
• Selling at ATH - Ah well, this came as a surprise as well. But what can we do? 70,000 ETH sold for around $100 million at the time would have discouraged more ethereum enthusiasts if this was announced in 2017. In hinsight, it looks like they actually made the right move. It would have been harder for them if they liquidated later. If they didn't have that kind of funds since 2018, we would probably see ethereum 2.0 by 2025 or later

It would be too late for us to dump what we have today since they have already dumped, once we do it today and the price goes up without dipping a below our selling price it would mean we will be forced to buy back higher price. That is just priceless example of buy high sell low scenario, the last time it went $300 should have been your best opportunity but today I'm not doing it.

Have you ever seen DeFi that built in ethereum platform that was really useful for us and fix the common problem in the community? I have not, at least not yet.

I kind of think that the dump should be an opportunity for developers to get things fixed & prevent bigger dumps in the future. The market is probably trying to tell everyone that something is wrong and need fixing but this does bother us too much. Price manipulations have even worsen the situation... I think there will be a time when everything will be fine and go back to the way it was, I am now a little bit in storing ethereum, no more than 30% and the remaining bitcoin and some altcoin for short-term sale. And surprises will still apply in cryptocurrency

Any big change takes time! Moving a billion dollar valued coin into a different algorithm requires a great amount of effort and a lot of technical expertise. ETH will eventually move to POS but it is just taking its own sweet time.

Big whales as well as commkn people like us, are already buying it so that they can earn passive income from staking. The demand of ETH is only going to increase and not decrease post movement to POS. For me, it is definitely a sleeping giant right at this moment!

Now we have an idea that the devs of ETH will sell again if we reach the peak of ethereum. And by that time, we shouldn't be ignorant and confident anymore and we have to do what exactly they are planning to do so that we won't be left behind.

The switch to PoS might be beneficial for the whole Ethereum community but that's it, there's nothing more to it. The better performance is actually true to consider ethereum has planned to upgrade the protocol with so many upgraded and will be added to the new features too. The real problem here does it make others wanna buy ethereum again to be used for the long term investment or not? So many people are putting big speculation to the future of ethereum but the price of ethereum itself doesn't even move from the current position to the above $140 position again which means if that is a really bad result.
TRON AND EOS are facing the same problem with ethereum too as their price keep plunged a lot. The protocol update is actually upgrading everything in ethereum but it does not always bring FOMO.

Although I can not say anything about time, IMO ETH is one of the most important and successful projects that we all need. Yes, it is clear that news about Vitalik's recent sale of 30k and delaying of 2.0 has an impact on ETH negatively. But, the market needs it, I do not know better than ETH, which is suitable for second place. So be sure that the price will increase at the first opportunity and when the 2.0 update is over we will all see the price boom together.

Looking for the past prices of eth, we couldn't reallt say neither it's a shinking ship or sleeping giant. We're not really undervalued which is the price never really reachead a very botton mark. We've had tons of increase and decrease these past few months even year. The experienced ones take that as a chance to make an entry and exit point.

I don't even know whether ETH 2.0 will get postponed or not, still, a great development takes more time to be completed. As to make sure nothing goes wrong and everything is in place.

I think ETH is considered a very good option during this time because investors have been inclined to invest a lot in this coin recently. During the recent weeks, reports are coming in that a number of Ethereum developers are no longer being active in the project and many of them are dumping their coins. And this is what money can do to the people. Many of these developers became filthy rich, when they sold a part of their stash at ATH prices ($1,450 per coin). Besides bitcoin the only other coin that I'm watching is ethereum and that is because I have a very strong feeling that at some point in the future ethereum is going to wake up and give once again amazing profits, but if you do not feel like taking your chances then it is OK to just keep your current portfolio in which 10% is dedicated to it, that way if it crashes then you're not going to be that affected by it and if it goes up then you are not completely left out and you still obtain some profits.

The answer is not yet sure but I still holding some eth on my purse. This is the only project that helps me understand tokenization and smart contract. I guess we could say that this project still is an early adoption of their paltform. Blockchain still on going imrpovement and eth still doing their thing to make their platform a good one. From 2017 ATH of 1.4k$ down to 127$ is a huge loss but its not due to a low value of project but bearish sentiment of this market. Well, on my final thought eth is one of the sleeping giants.

I came to the crypto market in mid-2017 and the first cryptocurrency I met was ETH. Next, I began to participate in cryptocurrency projects and accumulate ERC-20 tokens. It's neither a "sleeping giant" or a "sinking ship" per se. But currently I do think that it is undervalued. Even so, though, you can barely say that it is a sleeping giant if it's already number 2 on the coin market cap list in terms of market capitalization.

I'm still optimistic that ETH could show its market dominance among altcoins. Yes, Ethereum is not a sleeping giant anymore but consider it a sinking ship if people will never risk their money for investment. The future of this certain is only in the hands of the investors but of course, the devs have had a big role for this in order to turn back its potentiality.

Just like bitcoin, there are holders that are not willing to sell at any price. The developer that sold and plunged the price back to the current we have is desperate and is probably in need of money. We have no choice but to remain optimistic until we sell it at a satisfying price soon.
The future isn't just with the investors but it's more with the developers and how they'll show the development of it to us.

Developers must be able to show what developments or updates they will make in order to attract investors to invest in it or be able to encourage many people to start buying coins and also for investors if the project is good, they will start investing and hope that it will can provide benefits and hope that the developer can give what is best to develop the project.

The develops have done the latest updates and it has already showed to the holders but to be done all of the updates need the time. Ethereum is a large scale blockchain protocol which widely used and that makes ethereum consumes more time to make it happen. I just suggest you to watch all of the articles about the ethereum updates again.

I could only suggest holding some ethereum while selling the other ethereum and holding back to bitcoin. I think ethereum has an opportunity to grow, especially if the next update is running better as people will see how good the next update is. But if the next update isn't what they're looking for, ethereum will need much longer time to get back up. I really like the fact that you recogn ETH as a giant altcoin project, but I don't think up to 90 percent of DAPPS and projects as stated are built on Ethereum blockchain. TRON and EOS also constitute a considerable percentage of the overral. That said, I'm holding a bag of ETH, now it's almost 25 percent of my entire portfolio, 70 percent for the king (BTC) ofcourse.

I don't think that ETH is a sinking ship because as you can see in the market almost all crypto is experiencing downfall right now but when we think on a good side, just look on how ETH survived and even making itself good whether the market is not good as of now. Well, maybe your only reason is a common reason for ethereum holders up to this point, if ethereum and the media don't give this event, perhaps we have abandoned ethereum long ago because patience is not always infinite, it can only stop at a certain level, in the past, ethereum has gained a lot of trust from people but over the years, it has used nearly all of that belief and hasn't created anything new. This event is probably the last to determine ethereum's next path, hopefully ethereum won't keep quiet as nearby tiny people are starting to grow and come close to it

Too slow thay if they failed to make it good it will be worste investment for investors. Ethereum platform is good idea no doubt about it but the problem is the people using the platform . If vitalik cant control many tokens created using thier platform it will end nothing and it will lose interest of neq potential investors that is serious about thier investment.

I wouldn't call it an intelligent insight but I was skeptical of alts, including ETH in 2019. After seeing how they still make crazy movement during this month, I'm eager to believe that some major alts like ETH does have a future in crypto. Especially looking at its development.

I'm not sure how the market will react to ETH going full PoS, maybe it is already priced in but I doubt so, anyway I like the spirit behind it, to stop wasting energy. I hope the development of Casper will be done within a year or two, this could give ETH a massive boost.

there are many Scam projects that make Ethereum a home, and this makes Ethereum's image worsen, I strongly agree if Vitalik makes regulations to prevent many scam projects, if it is done I am sure that ethereum will slowly recover

I’ve been into Bitcoin since 2014. It’s always been my main thing, however I’ll admit I got swept up in the 2017 cycle and got burned on quite a few projects. I eventually consolidated back to 100% bitcoin.

Now I find myself in a situation where I really believe in Ethereum as the only other viable project. I’ve been accumulating Ether to the point where now I’m 80% BTC, 10% Eth and, 10% USDC (prepared to buy more BTC when the time is right).

I’m preparing for Eth 2.0 staking. I see all the Defi projects built on Eth. The stablecoins, the ecosystem. If Eth fell, it would bring a huge chunk of the crypto market down with it. So for this reason, I can’t see ethereum really disappearing. It’s the only crypto that I’ve actually used (I bought something with USDC, an ERC-20 token).

That said, I am concerned about those stolen $100million in Eth. That can depress the value of Eth for years. I’m concerned about the constant hard forking, the constant delay of Eth 2.0, and the general amateurish feeling of the project. I hate that Vitalik, and the ethereum foundation dumped their bags on people at the ATH.

Part of me wants to just sell my Eth for BTC and not look back. Another part of me wants to keep buying Eth as it goes down.

As of now, we cannot still confirm that Ethereum is totally falling down cause it looked like that way back but all of a sudden, it was able to regain its position from being next on bitcoin. You should take it as an opportunity while Ethereum's value si still low to buy lots of it and wait for the value to increase as bitcoin halving occurs. Let us all stay optimistic about Eth because it has all the potential of becoming more successful in the future togethere with bitcoin.

1, why POS is a proven fail, hundreds of pos coins created in 2014 where are the now, even the father of all started trading at $0.40 and now years later halved in price https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/peercoin/
2, how so? still unlimited supply, switch to pos suppose to happen at beginning of 2018 now 2020 and still has not happened, scaling not sorted lots of talk talk talk no action

I lost hope with etehreum can back to higher price because until today I never see new update from ethereum team and owner with new way how to make eth back with higher price, although last month have update news with system upgrade but etehreum keep stable with lower price and never move on to higher price.
