Ethereum: Sinking ship or Sleeping Giant?

I don't know about giving up on Ethereum at this point. It was too late when I heard Ethereum was sinking because of a recent hacking. Though it's a bummer that Ethereum is being dump, I'm just waiting for it to finish in order to buy some because I know that Ethereum would one day go pass beyond $150. At least we are yet given another opportunity by the dumpers to invest in some cheap Ethereum again.

The current situation of ethereum is very complex, it will surely not be a shitcoin, but the dark clouds on it make me think we are at risk. In order to save the situation, they should trans ETH 2.0 a little faster or make another innovation. Because this market does not move every coin to second place easily.

I see that such a monotonous discussion is being held regarding all cryptocurrencies, and not just regarding ethereum.  I do not think that we need to look at the current situation of the price of ethereum from the point of view of bad prospects in the future, because today the general state of the cryptocurrency market does not allow the cryptocurrency to rise up.  We must understand that the ethereum team is working on improving the ethereum and we see the results of their work in improving the technical characteristics of ETH, but full success will depend primarily on the demand for the coin on the market and on the activity of investors who will support ethereum.

I always loved Ethereum & still do, i like it more than BTC itself.
Ethereum should be a $1000+ token, but this cryptosphere is just so weird,.
It's the best blockchain with the best Dapps out there, so sad to see it worth like $150 & may be even lower if this bear winter continues.

While the fundamentals of ethereum are amazing that does not really tell you when investors are going to wake up to the fact they have ignored the second best coin of the market for years, but instead of lamenting the situation of ethereum take advantage of it, while most people are going to wait until ethereum is worth 1000 dollars again to invest in it you can do while its price is below 150, even with a conservative prediction you could easily get 3x your money during the next years.

ETH went up so much in 2017 because of the hype surrounding the ICOs. That was the single most factor, which enabled the Ethereum investors to receive a ROI of 120x in 2017. But now the ICO bubble has burst and the ETH prices are sliding down to what it was prior to the ICO boom. On top of that, the incompetence and arrogance of the Ethereum developers are not helping the coin either. The development timelines are getting pushed back, and the users are getting frustrated as a result of this.

I’m preparing for Eth 2.0 staking. I see all the Defi projects built on Eth. The stablecoins, the ecosystem. If Eth fell, it would bring a huge chunk of the crypto market down with it. So for this reason, I can’t see ethereum really disappearing. It’s the only crypto that I’ve actually used (I bought something with USDC, an ERC-20 token).

First, I think if ETH fail it won't bring a huge chunk of the crypto market because those who are using their platform can easily migrate to another successful blockchain though I also see ETH going strong and not disappearing anytime soon.

That said, I am concerned about those stolen $100million in Eth. That can depress the value of Eth for years. I’m concerned about the constant hard forking, the constant delay of Eth 2.0, and the general amateurish feeling of the project. I hate that Vitalik, and the ethereum foundation dumped their bags on people at the ATH.

What done is done, we cannot do anything about it so do not stress yourself over this matter.  If you are hoping for ETH to recover, you have to believe on their developer.

Part of me wants to just sell my Eth for BTC and not look back. Another part of me wants to keep buying Eth as it goes down.

If another part of you wanted to buy instead of just hodl and wait then I guess you still believe on the ETH developer.  There maybe delay on ETH upgrade but if it is done I guess all your waiting will not be in vain.  Bitcoin also suffers the same fate as ETH, its price goes down and yet to recover to its ATH.

I’ve been into Bitcoin since 2014. It’s always been my main thing, however I’ll admit I got swept up in the 2017 cycle and got burned on quite a few projects. I eventually consolidated back to 100% bitcoin.

I seriously doubt that it's either one of those polar extremities that you present.

It's neither a "sleeping giant" or a "sinking ship" per se. But currently I do think that it is undervalued. Even so, though, you can barely say that it is a sleeping giant if it's already number 2 on the coin market cap list in terms of market capitalization.

I think that 2020 will present better market conditions for ICOs, most of which rely on the ETH platform which will likely drag ETH up with it.

Ethereum rises and like this because of the smart contract factor they create, making the developers always use it and while the boom makes ETH rising as the project is successful in use. But on the other hand, they are the developers using it to be scammers behind the smart contract ETH and investors do not trust them anymore and make eth the more lonely interest. Who sold all of their Ethereum in late 2017, they did the right thing! Whoever held ETH to see when Ethereum price hit 2K USD, they, we were greedy! By seeing this year's movement, It seems Ethereum is sinking the ship! Ethereum is a giant coin, no doubt here but they really losing huge popularity!
