Is there any explanation for why user @Whale is not in the BPIP database?

Should be ok now. Not sure why it was missed.

I checked other user IDs and found a few others missing from around the same time, so it might have been some temporary issue at that time. All these are refreshing now. Thanks for pointing out.

What exact part is not working?
I manage to open the bpip page of the banned profile, but an error like the one you mentioned appears if I click on a user from the "Favorite profiles to send .." or "Merit Fans of .." list.
But the same error also appears if it is about accounts that are not banned

Site let me log in, click my name and the trust page popped up. Then I went back to search if a profile was banned and get the error. Closed the page and went back and tried searching another name, same error.

I also get the same error when searching a profile, but it's still possible to check the profile of any user you want on BPIP by editing the URL manually.
Just replace yahoo62278 with the username of anyone you want in https://bpip.org/Profile?p=yahoo62278 to check their profile on BPIP.

I am getting the same error when clicked on total flags, for both the supported and opposed flags! Is this supposed to happen? I haven't encountered any error like this one before with bpip.

I encountered another error with lots of messages and descriptions. Forgot to take a SS and now it doesn't appear anymore.

Guys, the BPIP Chrome Extension used to work for me before reinstalling Windows 11.

Now, as shown in the screenshot, it says 'This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions.'

What’s the solution now? I'm truly a big fan of this useful extension and I really want to use it on Google Chrome. What can I do? Are there any solutions?

Let me quote myself from the other thread. Google/Chrome decided to act dicky so there were some new changes towards some extensions that didn't meet their new standards

Apparently, Google/Chrome are deciding to migrate to manifest V3, which is intended to fight privacy focused tools like ad blockers such as uBlock Origin. This is likely to affect most of the chromium based browser like Microsoft Edge

But worry not, the extension got disabled by default, but you can re-enable it manually in the extensions tab, and you are good to go like nothing happened or just use other browsers like Firefox, Brave etc

Thank you for your help, but I did not install it in the first place for the extension to be disabled.

I found an easy way for anyone who wants to install it on Google Chrome:

1- I opened this website: https://crxextractor.com/

2- I pasted the extension’s link [this one] from the Chrome Web Store into the site.

3- I downloaded the .crx extension file. I uploaded it to this [link]. UPDATED

Then, I went to chrome://extensions/, enabled Developer mode, dragged the downloaded .crx file, and dropped it onto the Extensions page. The extension installed successfully.

I don't know if it was mentioned before, but few days ago I noticed that, when visiting profile of user that changed username, there is no note in security moderators log.

To be honest im not sure if Security moderators log would be good place to have a note like that, but it would certainly be good thing to document username changes. Specially in case if someone takes old username of person who changed it.

The general consensus had been that we shouldn't really be tracking username changes since the top reason for username changes have typically been done for privacy reasons, so we try to respect that. Here was theymos' response to this in the past. So, we've opt'd to not track that. I don't believe theymos would be OK with someone else registering a previously used username either, although I could be wrong since I'm not sure he's ever officially said it, but I'd guess in most cases it would lead to a ban, if it is even still allowed to register a previously used username.

I don't think it's even possible: usually, only the display is changed, not the "real" username:

Forum-wide, the display name is always supposed to be the name displayed, though the username can be used as an alias in some places.

My main point was to ensure traceability and avoid mistaking one person for another. But according to Theymos users change their username for privacy reasons, I can understand and respect that.And I guess if someone is changing names for  reasons other than privacy, he can always make it somehow publicly visible (profile info or personal text).

O.k... your BPIP link helped me to hone in and see some of the late 2023 drama for anyone who might want to look at some of the threads discussing some of the drama around Symmetrick's account and then  activity.  Through Symmetrick's trust page from his profile, we see that forum staff Xal0lex reported that Symmetrick had been banned.

Apparently, a user has been banned, as stated by a Staff member, yet BPIP.org doesn't recognise it as banned.
Is it either a bug in the interface or something else?
I thought bpip.org was accurate in flagging banned users, as I use it to avoid sending merits to users already in that category.

It's something else, probably this:

I will request that theymos ban the "Lauda" account (u=101872)

Done. Lauda is banned in the same way as satoshi, such that it isn't possible to even log into the account anymore.

BPIP relies on modlog for bans, but not everything shows up there.
