they are probably battling a SQL deadlock or index issue.
Wait.... are you saying there's actually a perk of not using databases at all? Tongue I'm glad I don't have to deal with things I don't understand Cheesy

Does anyone know what is going on with BPIP website?
I tried opening website in several different browsers including Tor browser, but nothing is opening with some error 500 message showing.
Strangely enough BPIP extension is still working fine, but I am not sure if all information is correct at the moment.

We get the same 504 error when trying to access any profile.
The problem appears to be caused by a DNS upstream server, AWS, or slow database query performance.
This error can occur when a database is not optimized.

Tested on Firefox and Chrome.

BPIP is active up lately, it is a fact, and it shouldn't be dismissed very easily and those in power (maintainer/dev) should take a look at what's causing them.
I believe it all started a few months ago...when I started seeing these errors and often complain/report it here.
Btw, I'm getting the same error as you guys, 500, 504. While some are getting 504, some are blank or white screen.

DS does have a valid point.   Website bugs are usually quickly identified and squashed, but they are probably battling a SQL deadlock or index issue.  I should apologize for originally coding in Microsoft's .NET and using a relational database, both which add unnecessary complication for such a simple website.  Plus I never used APIs and let the web pages touch the database directly.    I think they are just too busy for the proper maintenance that MS requires.  :/

It feels kinda strange you know. Bpip worked very well for as long as i can remember. And all of a sudden errors started appearing. I wonder "What changed". :/

Interestingly, I have a completely different situation.
The default domain bpip.org index page opens regularly, but error 504 occurs every time I try to open any profile page.
The browser extension doesn't work for me either
Tested on Firefox and Chrome.
That is strange, for me extension was working perfectly fine all the time.
I managed to open BPIP on Tor browser, and now it's working fine in all web browsers.
Maybe this was some temporary glitch or issues with server, but it looks resolved for me now.

https://bpip.org/Profile?p=Vod

An hour ago, I checked, it didn't work (obviously I don't check 24/7).
But now it's working again.
I can clearly see you licking your boobs since 1970...but the page loads as slow as a trutle.
This was only a figure of speach right, RIGHT?  Roll Eyes LOL

Later edit:

(With Profile?id=numbers - error 500/504)
(With Profile?p=username - it actually loads)

It works, but takes a few seconds more than usual to load.

I too have seen blank pages on BPIP a few times in the past days. It made me realize how often I use BPIP!

Yeah, it's working, only thing I had to wait a bit longer for page to open.
Yesterday I tested opening pages for several other members and it worked fine for all of them.

PS
Merit transactions can now be seen also with Bitlist archive website (ex-Ninjastic), but that website can also be slow sometimes Smiley

The issue has been resolved; I no longer receive 504 errors, and there are no delays or slowdowns when accessing an individual's profile.
The reason you're having trouble opening a page could be due to DNS, as AWS DNS operates as a global or multi-region server, but it loads smoothly on my end.

Try clearing the browser cache for bpip.org and test it again.

Usually the one who fixes it announces when the fix is good - too many false positives lately.   Wink

DNS is not the issue obviously, and your local cache will usually not cause a 504.  That is a server-side issue, often caused by overloaded servers, faulty firewalls, or misconfigured proxies.  In the recent cases, I'd say a bad database index exhausted all timeouts.

In December 2019 Vod had a hard drive issue and wanted to shut the site down. I asked ibminer if he wanted to partner with me to keep it running, he agreed, and we reached an agreement with Vod, where money/databases/code/domain changed hands. Myself and ibminer are 50:50 in control of BPIP now.

Was the amount of "money" that changed hands for this website ever announced publicly somewhere?  I would love to know the value of such a creation, even though at the time money changed hands the website was non-functioning and due to be shut down.  Asking for a friend.  Smiley

There are still some intermittent resource issues happening so I can't call it completely fixed at this point, but I appreciate everyone here letting us know when they see any errors so we can keep track of it and correct it as soon as possible.

Luckily the parsers have continued to run when this happens. I think it may be a front-end problem with IIS itself that occasionally just needs a reboot, maybe a small memory leak somewhere that is being amplified by the increased traffic we've had.

Shouldn't be DNS related, once you are seeing an error from a web server, DNS has done its job and you've moved past the resolution. I'm still leaning towards a small memory leak somewhere that eventually eats up IIS but I'm not 100% sure. I'd be more concerned if parsing were being effected, I know suchmoon has been monitoring it on the server as well so we're looking into it.

According to you, BPIP was stolen from Vod instead of changing hands for a price. Remember?

Whenever I mention the truth of why you started your hate campaign against me or how you robbed Vod of his ownership stake in BPIP as a result of his mental decline, you can't even quote the text you are in such shame over your actions.  I don't know about you being the worst person on this forum, but your actions and behavior towards them has definitely earned you the moniker suchshame.

Whoops, sorry. "Robbed", not stolen. Same thing? Depends on how you interpreted it I guess. Did you mean to imply that Vod was taken advantage of in the changing hands of BPIP due to his mental health (which you have made fun of him for years now, asshole) and it was sold at a too low price? Ok then, what valuation would you or the rest of the forum give it? According to you, this forum is the home of generational wealth money making opportunities. The whole forum uses BPIP for 50 different reasons as a tool. Hmmm...

Or did you literally mean robbed like someone hacked Vod and stole it? I think you meant the former as described above, otherwise you would have used the word stolen instead of robbed. Don't expect the official sale value of BPIP (whatever it may have been) to help your case out, bucko. You're obviously doing homework for the legal case you "don't give a shit about". Your words etched into the forums stone over the years are what you need to give a shit about.

Why are you even posting in this thread about this? Get the fuck out of this thread and take your queries elsewhere. Loser.

Is it time for the browser extension to update this ninjastic logo and url to bitlist? I just tried the extension today, although the URL redirects to bitlist after clicking the icon, but it will confuse anyone unless they know about the merge of both sites to one for the forum archives.

I don't know if this has been proposed in other terms (a search on bitlist doesn't seem to have it), but could we get a "compare" feature that could load, say, up to 3 profiles at once? Something like cpubenchmarks or gsmarena, I think that would be cool.

Example screen (just randomly selected):
https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5157vs6398vs5632/Intel-N100-vs-Intel-N250-vs-Intel-N50
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=14409&idPhone2=14457

What's this error I am getting? Trying to access reports.

Stupid Microsoft relying on a dynamic page to display dynamic errors.  :/

Something fundamental has failed - maybe the database connection pool is exhausted (saluting loycev) - but it's still just a single issue despite the error suggesting everything is falling apart.  Smiley
