If Altcoins Won't Moon Can't I Just Short the Hell Outta Them???

I waited for alt season for many months now and it seems that instead of a bull run, all I do is bleed. So, I'm thinking this hodling thing ain't working for me anymore, is there any decentralized platform that allows me to short all possible altcoins out there? It's time to bet against the market.

Unfortunately, for now, I'm only aware of the fulcrum.trade leveraging platform. It only allows me to short a few cryptos: Eth, WBTC, LINK, ZRX and KNC. Need another one with more options.

Trading was more like a gambling style these days, and it was so unfortunate that many people still got so fascinated with underlying hardships in growing their asset. I think it was all worthless to see those old coins not gaining a good price after two years of holding. This is very intense and disappointing to see after all the efforts and time wasted.

Very brave move ... After such a long period of bear market trend can reverse at any moment ... Of course, it is possible that prices will continue to fall, but think better or wait for a change in trend and then play for increases ..  Don't you think?

well well , leverage trading is not an option for me, its just make more worst for me.
i just choice to cut loss , rather than using a leverage trading, even for 4x , or the final choice , just go to dice table.

You can go margin on Binance easily. Just can use whatever coins you have as a collateral and borrow x3-5 in tokens you want. https://www.binance.vision/tutorials/binance-margin-trading-guide here is a guide for this with an example.

Honestly i don't know any decentralized version where you can short them. May i ask what's wrong with centralized platforms for doing this? Some of them don't even require kyc depending how much you are withdrawing in a month...

But really? Why do you think after like 2 years of bear run that now is the best time to short?

Sadly i dont know of any platforms that allow MOST alts to be shorted and such, i suppose its just a liquidity thing?
usually you will only see the major coins available.   Seems like a good oppertunity for a dedicated platform, hmmm...
Then again, the bullrun has just begun man, NOW you want out? 2020 imo is gonna be a good year for hodlers..

See and how much you've gain if ever you have done what you are suppose to do. Patience is the most important aspect of trading, if you had the patience to hold these coins till now why not hold it for a couple of years and see how the market will respond and then take a decision on what you are going to the coins you are holding. Since you are planning to manipulate the market by shorting them i guess you are holding a huge amount of coins to make manipulate the market if not good luck dreaming  .

You could.

Deribit offers ETH futures and options, and I'm pretty sure Bitmex offers them as well. Those are the two with liquidity. There are smaller exchanges that offer more trading pairs and markets but don't necessarily have the liquidity to really facilitate the trades that you want to do.

But honestly, shorting right now is pretty dumb imo with the bull market on the horizon.

It's part of the life you need to take the risk and as saying "Patience is a virtue". You may need to wait for a long time to sell those altcoins but it would take time. And best solution for now is to sell a portion of your altcoins then buy back again if you think their is a potential that their price will increase in the future.

And all of us are having the same problem and for now we need to take an action rather wait for the Moon.

I think if you buy altcoin from the start you must be prepared with the risks, not every day everyone can win here.
my advice is to stay patient because maybe if you give up now you will feel disappointed the next day

Im not aware about that fulcrum.trade leverage platform.Im not considering any platforms aside from Bitmex itself.So im not aware if there were existing aside on what you had mentioned.

You aren't the only one who do thinks that hodling doesn't work yet majority would think the same way specially on hodling alts same as you do.

If you don't still need money nowadays then its better to hold those coins and forget for sometime.If you are that desperate on shorting those then
alts you do mention do have specific markets for you to be able to done it.

Look for exchanges that offer leverage trading and you will find all the coins that you want to short. But before doing that you have to know that your decision is purely based on emotional outburst. In other words you are like a desperate person trying to waste everything because his expectations are not met. And do you know how this will end up? This will only drain your account of the last value it got. If you are this emotional you will not really thrive in this crypto world. Harden up your hand and don't fold.

Unfortunately there is no shorting of altcoins like bitcoin, normally that would have been very weird as well, everyone would have short altcoins because we have no emotional connection with most of them and only look at them as financial gains. Even bitcoin was used like that when first shorting came about and right now it is less than when it first started but still shorted a lot and people sell coins to make profits that way however altcoins are definitely going to bottom if shorting ever happens at all.

So, altcoins can't be shorted because in order to short something you have to have people who long it as well, people who think it won't go down, 99% of the people who have altcoins would sell their altcoins if they could make money that way.

it should have been done just weeks when the bear market was just in the early stage. dump them all and do the trading on BTC/USD. dump the hell out of them since holding these altcoin will not earn you during the times of bear. you can forget looking for which platform to trade when it comes to BTC trading and its all just about the volume anymore.

It is an emotional thing, we don't like things going down and it seems it is wrong to short but what most people forget is that life is up and down and those that can take advantage of this would make the most of it. I could remember Rothchild how he made is money. But people need to understand the risk of using leverage also to short so as not to get burn

I felt too emotional and should have taken profit when I longed ETH the other day, and now... I got liquidated - call it an amateur's bad luck, I still lost some dough. The true secret of the market is never to get greedy. Short when you can, long when you must and take profits in between.

Decision making is very important, if you’re holding do it with plan and strategies so you don’t hold forever and you can have the chance to get some profit. If there’s no altcoins season then you should be more active on short trading. The future can’t be sure, if there’s a chance to make money right now grab it and enjoy it so you wont regret that in the future.
