50 merit transactions

Recently, there have been some discussions about those who send 50 merit in a single transactions.

I provided some data with the help of DdmrDdmr merit dashboard for a 100-day period (from September 24, 2019 to January 03, 2020)
In these 100 days, we have 26 merit transactions that contain 50 merit. ( I didn't consider merits sent in the art contest)
Numbers in parentheses are number of earned merits.

According to these data, I don't think there is a big issue. I mean there aren't many abusers.

TMAN, franky1 and suchmoon are only users that have sent 50 merit in a single transaction more than one time in the 100-day period.
There is no doubt that there is no problem with these merit transactions.

There are 15 users that have sent 50 merit in a single transaction in the 100-day period.
It's obvious that, JL421, phr0stbyt3, Newbie1273819, Neovitadi, Jalum, asdalani, stripykitteh have abused the merit system.

Obviously theymos is abusing the system. TMAN, suchmoon, Mitchell are well-known abusers too

Simply report them so DT will paint them red... Also the first three ones were discussed in another topic.

That is already considered as a misuse of the Trust System. We now refrain from tagging them red just for Abusing the Merit System.

The system is not black and white, you can't limit it because there are people who are abusing the system, just think outside the box and accept that there are really abusers no matter how good the system is, what's important is that majority are still not abusing it.

Merit system is not a big deal actually, I find trust can be more abused than a merit, that's my 2 cents.

I made my second post on this, with some clarification, please add that one in your OP, and my first post edited a little too (with some clarifications).

As I wrote in my analyses, I don't see serious things with 50-merit transactions (I could be wrong). Especially if we look at how many of such transactions gave away to shitposters. Don't let the shitposters affect the good-posters.

I don't know, but as theymos said he never sticks to anything so the community's complaints might cause some changes.

I am never completely tied to anything, but let's try this for at least a few months and seehow it works.

This is so 2018. It's not a thing that is done by DT members anymore. Personally i would love to see something done about clear misuse of large amounts of sMerits. Like reversing the transaction or something in that line.

I know people will claim that this is something small or the merit abuse is the least of our worries, but we have to look at things from different perspective.

Imagine a newbie who has spent months and months trying to acquire even just 10 merits and then boom. Someone receives 50 Merit for a useless post, quite discouraging, isn't it?

My other worry is what if sending 50 Merits becomes the new normal? Now that the abusers know that they will get away with sending 50 sMerits to worthless posts... What happens when 50 sMerist start flying from Left, Right and Centre?
The merit system we have fought so hard to keep growing positively in the right direction will literally be blown into pieces by abusers.

If you check both users you will see I helped them rank up to legendary as I believe the merit system was not made to hold users back like the guys above, in a similar vein I believe op should be a hero by now and ill be dropping 50 on him next time I get sauce. As long as merits are getting sent I am happy, much better than them getting pulled out the pool as I didnt have time to spend them!

Those users have reputations to give 50merits to a single user. Based on their judgement those people deserved it.

I have more than 50smerits in my posession then I decided to give it to a single user also. I'm pretty sure I will be starting again another issue like what happened with TMAN's merited post. But IMO its any user right to give it to someone whom we think deserved it whatever quality post he produced. Since we dont have similar judgement here and as long the reason of it isnt trading or transacting merits that involve money.

Thanks OP for researching those information but in the end this kind of thing will not be an issue for people who knows what theyre doing.

Users reputation in the forum isn't built only with merits.
Those who have sent and received 50 merit for a useless post without any reason and are abusing the system, not only haven't earned anything, but also have destroyed their reputation.
Merits don't make users reputable and high-quality posters.
Fortunately, everything goes in the forum is public and abusing the system is not that easy.
A newbie shouldn't be discouraged by such things. Because abusers earn nothing.

As I said, there are probably some abuses, but we are not facing a big problem.

Agree, If somebody in this community is losing hope just because they don't get merits, they don't belong here. I kept telling my fellow users here that merits just means to admire the effort or content of someone similar to social media likes. It's wrong to have a merit-focusing mentality just because they wanted to rank quickly and earn money since one of the qualifications in the campaigns is merits.

I've seen a lot of merit transactions that made me think it was very unfair. Sometimes, favoritism is being applied when meriting someone but all these things don't bother me now. I just realized that it wasn't really for merits that I wanted to stay here, it's about your learning passion. So if I didn't receive any merit to a self-made thread of mine, who cares at least I made a contribution to my local. If someone is interested in how I've done it so far, try to check how many quality threads I've made to earn those merits that I have.

I saw "theymos" on the list above, I doubt if you are trying to suspect him abusing the merit system created by himself. 
It is a serious thing for me. Since he is an administrator forum, this accusation may ruin the reputation of the forum.

I know who Theymos is. Wish you had read the full topic before making a post.
I just counted 50 merit transactions in a 100-day period.
Total number of 50 merit transactions was 26.
TMAN, franky1  and suchmoon made 6, 3 and 2 of transactions respectively.
All of us know they are trusted members of the forum and I said:

There is no doubt that there is no problem with these merit transactions.

There were 15 other users who had sent 50 merit in a single transaction.

I checked these transactions one by one. (Some of transactions like the one theymos made didn't need to be checked.)
There were a few users that had abused the merit system. These users had sent 50 merit to other users without any reason and I mentioned their usernames as follows.

It's obvious that, JL421, phr0stbyt3, Newbie1273819, Neovitadi, Jalum, asdalani, stripykitteh have abused the merit system.

Do you see theymos among these usernames?

I wouldn't answer you firstly, because we all know that theymos is the biggest merit abuser living in earth...ever...and since you are a FULL MEMBER i will give you the most awaited ANSWER but in the form of 2 questions : How do you become a full member seriously? and How old are you?
Of course, you aren't asked to answer it but to think twice.
