Can Negative Trust and Trust Flag get removed?

But, I still saw many accounts have many negative trust or negative trust flag on their post. This negative trust makes me be warned and be careful from that account.

I know DT gave that negative trust not without reasons, they always fill comments about the mistakes from that account was doing and also have the reference topic to make sure not abusing negative trust. This trust system is very important, it will influence many things such as : Take lending and loan, participate campaign/project, selling service and goods etc.
The negative trust will make thats account "untrusted". Its will be feels like "that's account already end and nothing can I do"



This trust also cannot get removed by yourself, it can be only remove by a person who is giving negative trust to you

noone can remove negative trust other than the person who left it for you

So I wanna ask, is there something way to correct the mistakes to remove the negative trust?
Because I think people can do at least once fault in their life and can't be 100% correct. It will help for many accounts was given a negative trust to change their attitude and behavior. I write this not because I trust everyone that's been doing wrong is right, this only for account who feel misunderstood. Also, this doesn't mean that I don't trust DT, they are very wise to find a lot of evidence before giving a negative trust.

you already answered your own question: nope

Only the person that give you negative trust can remove it... There are a couple alternatives tough:

• you can change your attitude anyways and hope the person who gave you negative trust decides to remove it
• somebody from DT can take pitty on you and decide to counter the negative trust by giving you positive trust... The negative won't dissapear, but at least your trustwall won't look all shiny red.
• If it's a DT2 member, you can PM the DT1 member who added the DT2 member to their trustlist, explain your situation and ask them to remove the DT2 member from their trustlist
• If it's a DT1 member, you can try to find a couple other DT1 members that are sympathetic to your situation and decide to exclude the DT1 member that tagged you
• in VERY rare cases of EXTREME trustspam, Theymos sometimes decides to remove the trust spam from a spammer... But this is very, very, very rare

Otherwise, it's just bad luck...

However, i don't agree that you should act like DT members are sent by the gods, are always fair and never make mistakes... Cause they do, and people get tagged for unfair things.
Personally, i got tagged by a dude that posted a grand total of 3 posts in 2019 and none in 2020 (so far). By some sheer bad luck, somebody who had this person in his trustlist from back when he was more active got promoted to DT1 a couple weeks ago (this new DT1 member is actually a good dude, so i think he deserved his spot in DT1), so now i have a negative tag from a DT2 member. The whole situation revolved about me asking basic information i needed to help somebody who got his transaction stuck (i asked for transactionid's and which wallet software they used to help them do a CPFP or something like that). This new DT2 member never talked to me in any way, just started bitching about me in locked threads (labeling me the most dangerous person on bitcointalk on several occasions) and tagged me red.

There isn't a damn thing i can do about it... So, just continue and do good things. Sooner or later somebody that you've done good things for will see your trustlist and think "that negative tag is unfair, i'll counter it with a positive tag" (in my case, that's what DarkStar_ did )

Counter doesn't work anymore. The account will be +1 and -1.

Trying to counter is the incorrect use of the new trust system. Because giving them a green trust will just make that account look "trusted", and your goal wasn't that, but just make it black/neutral again.

I see the same as you, but I do have a Custom Trust List. Nevertheless, the DT view still display a positive and a negative score:

I think that can't be than and also, from the looks of it, once you have a negative trust , its a mark like a scar , like in real world even though your a change man, it will still be there until the end
besides negative trust is given to someone who is not trust worthy, removing that in a person , will put other persons in a wrong spot, its put there to make others aware that the person is not
trust worthy, and have to be catious on dealing with the person, or maybe keep distance with it

JollyGood has johnsmithx on their trust list, while nutildah has them excluded. I also have them excluded, but I've lost the DT1 lottery for the past two months so their ratings show up by default at the moment.

Everyone should be willing to review trust ratings they have left in light of new evidence, and everyone should at least be able to consider removing red tags they have left in cases where it was a weaker indication for a red tag in the first place (i.e. not a scammer) and the user has shown a genuine change in their behavior. Everyone should also be willing to bury the hatchet and de-escalate situations as much as possible rather than resorting to leaving more red trust. Unfortunately this is not always the case. As you say, not everyone can be 100% correct, and this applies to the people leaving ratings (including DT members) as well as the people being negatively rated.

As you also point out, there are several cases I've seen where a user who was negatively rated could probably have had the ratings removed if they approached the situation in a calm and mature manner. Unfortunately, what seems to usually happen is the user in question leaves false retaliatory ratings, maybe opens some false flags, and starts a thread throwing insults at the people who rated them. Such behavior is only going to reinforce the opinion that you are not a trustworthy individual.


Around half of johnsmithx's sent negative feedbacks are frivolous retaliatory feedbacks, and his rating on mocacinno is equally nonsense. I have excluded him.
