My father has 2 btc in a multibit hd wallet but i cannot move it off for him as it is unconfirmed. We have tried to repair a few times but to no avail. I have followed instructions to try and move to electrum but will not work. I can only scan QR code to open as a watch only wallet which is of no use. The transaction has been confirmed on the blockchain and the btc are untouched. I have also had a look at iancoleman.io and have got all of the details but do not know what details to use in electrum to sweep keys;
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

 Did you click the BIP44 tab under derivation path after entering the BIP39 mnemonic?

Looking at other reply’s to this problem, all suggest bip 32! On the iancoleman site then drop down to multibit which gives you all the addresses. In the addresses I cannot find the receiving address with the relevant private address. I have carefully looked down over 2000 lines!
As far as the multibit wallet is concerned, I have tried on so many occasions to repair but it will not change the bitcoin to confirmed. I understand that this was one of the issues with the wallet and hence why they dropped development of the wallet. The unfortunate thing is that mr dad as far as he knows was not informed to move his btc which is very frustrating knowing they are there but not being able to move/get them. Any further help would be appreciated
Thx

The current wallet's unconfirmed transaction won't matter as it's only like that because the wallet isn't syced and wont be able to sync.
All you need is the seed phase of that wallet.

When importing to Electrum Desktop (not android), click "options" then, check "BIP39";
On the next window, select "legacy" then change the derivation path (below) into: m/0'
That includes the quotation mark. Then wait for the wallet to finish downloading the headers and sync (2-20minutes).

Thanks for your reply. I have tried this previously and every other thing that I have read about trying to import from the multibit hd wallet. Nothing seems to work. I have the seed words, I know that the btc is there and unspent but will only show as a watch only in electrum and also blockchain.com wallet. I have tried to find the receiving address in the iancoleman bip39 adding various dérivations but cannot find that address anywhere to get the private keys.
Any other ideas?
Thanks

I have a multibit HD wallet which I had tried many months/years ago.  I still have the twelve word mnemonic phrase and have just entered those into my Blue Lightning Network Wallet under the create new wallet/import wallet feature.

After displaying a blank screen for a while (and I'm talking (a couple of minutes)) the wallet was imported successfully. (The wallets never had any funds in it, so it only shows "Latest Transaction: never")

The name given to the wallet was "Imported HD SegWit (BIP84 Beach32 Native)" Under "Wallet description" in Blue there are further options to Export/backup and Show Wallet XPUB.

Hope this helps.

If it's restored as a watch-only wallet, then you've imported the address or master public key (xpub) to Electrum,
anyone can do that by getting a random address with balance from a blockexplorer and import it to Electrum Tongue

What you need to do is to restore the seed phrase (12-24 words) using the option: "Standard wallet->I already have a seed" and the options from my previous reply.
You can create more than one wallets in Electrum using "File->New/Restore" menu.
If you already done exactly that, then you might have got the wrong seed phrase since Electrum will restore both receiving and change addresses or it's out of reach of the "gap limit".

After importing the seed to Electrum, try to increase the Gap limit to 1000 or more by typing in the console tab (View->Show Console):
Code:
wallet.change_gap_limit(1000)
Then close the wallet and restart Electrum.
Also, check the other addresses in the address tab (View->Show Addresses) if you can see a familiar address.

Without testing it myself, I found a link to this post in my [overview] Recover Bitcoin from any old storage format:
OK, I discovered seed is from an old Multibit HD wallet that I imported into Electrum a year ago. Any thoughts?
Do the above (select BIP38) and when it asks to select legacy/p2sh/native segwit, just write this in the box bellow the options and click next:

Code:
m/0'

(single quote included)
It worked for axel88, so it's worth giving a try.

Thanks to everybody who has tried to help with this. I have already had a go at each of these options but did it again but with no results. I am pretty sure that the seed words are correct as my dad noted these down when he set the wallet up and is quite a stickler for detail. When the import is done into electrum, should you be able to see the actual receiving address in 'adresses' which is the same receiving address that is in the multibit wallet? I have also tried on a few occassions the iancoleman site using a number of different derivations but cannot find the receiving address here either. It does seem strange that this is not working for me as so many others with the same problem have found the solution importing into electrum! On another point, is there a way of finding the private address on my fathers pc? I understand that it may be different between a multibit classic and hd wallets?
Anyway, thanks again for any help
