Bitcoin news is halving and the change in consensus of the PoS algorithm is a factor that drives prices up. IMO this trend will continue, lately a lot of positive news about crypto-world.

There is no doubt that $200 is a big achievement for Ethereum. But we need to remember that the ATH was somewhere around $1,500 per coin and the current rates are just a fraction of what we had back in 2018. Ethereum had its bubble and it burst during the Dec 2018-Jan 2019 period. Now I don't think that we'll ever witness those levels again.

Don't underestimate the altcoin markets. You'll end up selling way too early like most crypto newbs of 2017.

You are still not getting it. What is the point in having a much better technology, if it is not being used? Bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency and the technology is quite robust. The advantage with Ethereum is that it can be used for purposes such as the creation of smart contracts. But for making payments, Bitcoin and Ethereum are at the same level and ETH doesn't have any advantages over Bitcoin.

Your obviously a btc maxamalist and that's a dangerous game to play for 2020 as btc dominance is dropping off a cliff soon. You had two years of btc dominance protection but you should  not get greedy expecting 3 years of high btc dominance.

Look at how people are getting excited with eth again.

Eth has defi, faster transaction, blah blah blah list goes on.

I do get what your saying. But I don't care about using cypto as a currency if I'm going to get taxed on every transaction. So get real with yourself we will not have a world where btc is the new world currency. The tax man will never let that happen.

 I treat crypto like stock investments instead to make money. That's what we are all honesty here for.

This is the first time in 2020 and the good thing is, it hasn't stop yet. We still going up and no signals of going down. If it doesn't stop, I think a $300 mark is possible too. The other Altcoins are doing well too and this will be the beginning of what might look a slight bull run.
ETH has not been getting up since it's last price hike many months ago. I think the only reason for its price hike now is
the ongoing hype of the BTC halving which will happen in the next few months.

Unfortunately, after a couple of days of gaining, the whole market is in red right now, BTC at @9700 and ETH @216. I guess crypto traders, specially in weekends took their profit for this weeks run. But I'm still positive that  ETH will try to break that $300 mark because obviously that will be the next big target for this month. And as you have said, with the hype of the BTC halving, it could also have a positive effect on the whole altcoin market.

Yeah right, I think this is because the consensus of the PoS algorithm will be done this year, maybe in the near future Ethereum 2.0 will be released. I am happy with a signal like this because old investors have found profit again after a long time holding.

Yeah right, I think this is because the consensus of the PoS algorithm will be done this year, maybe in the near future Ethereum 2.0 will be released. I am happy with a signal like this because old investors have found profit again after a long time holding.

People who waited patiently will get most of the benefits with the new version they are going to release very soon, many people are kept waiting for the POS algorithm which it will help the coin to increase its price to a further level. After many days of waiting, of ETH price crossed more than 200$ which seems to be the attacking market is in a bull trend.

No. They are not going to release it anytime soon. The timelines have been postponed too many times. And if they rush it, then the consequences are going to be catastrophic. Ethereum is not as secure as Bitcoin or the other mainstream cryptocurrencies, and several exchanges hacks (including that of Cryptopia) have been blamed on these vulnerabilities. If they rush through the new algorithm, then I am sure that there will be even more security issues and the hackers will be able to make a killing out of these.

Hmm. Why do you say that? Did you predict that we will see a bull run in 2017?

Remember that the market is very volatile, no one even thought that ETH can reach 4 digits in 2018, but it did and push for a all time high. So we can't really say that we won't see ETH or any other altcoins in the top 10 to go for broke if ever we enter into another bullish run this year or the coming years.

The price of Ethereum may rise to its record price. But this will require that bitcoin is traded at a price above 20 thousand dollars. And it doesn't seem so fantastic, bitcoin has the potential to pull Ethereum and the entire crypto market back in 2017.

Not really surprising it's always been that way we are in a bull run and expect Ethereum to have a good performance in the market when we enter the bull run, not only Ethereum but some of the top coins in the market as well, coins that will not perform better this bull run are considered a scam coin.

Not really surprising it's always been that way we are in a bull run and expect Ethereum to have a good performance in the market when we enter the bull run, not only Ethereum but some of the top coins in the market as well, coins that will not perform better this bull run are considered a scam coin.

well when market conditions are good like this there will indeed be many cryptocurrency prices that will experience price increases so you can better prepare as much ethereum as you can because it will approach a very good moment, halving from bitcoin will have a good impact for many cryptocurrency including ethereum prices .

current price is #225. a prediction from a friend believed to be an expert claims it will retract at #230 but i doubt it and i don;t believe it because ethereum has never experience any bull run since 2018 after the price hit over 1,500. this is the first time and i believe it will reach 250 price mark before any retrenchment.

Yes surely it is a bullish signals. This year is going to be great for the altcoins as we can see some of the major altcoins like BNB, XRP, ETH, etc have already started showing us some growth which might even bring the bull runs closer. Breaking $200 barrier for Eth was not at all a easy task and ETH was really struggling to go beyond. Even bitcoins are much closer to $10,000 which have made a lot of people expect the arrival of bull runs.

There might perhaps be a dip before the alts can make a boost so yet I am hoping that the price for eth might go below $190 before it could start pumping above $250. Hope we all are able to make extreme profits from these markets in the financial year 2020 as this is really going to be a great year for the cryptocurrencies.

It's just 3 days ago and now ETH is at $225. I was really surprised too when I checked earlier that it did break the $200 barrier. Glad that BTC and altcoins are making improvements nowadays and hopefully they're able to maintain such positive news in more months to come.

I think because bitcoin has increased, and etherum also took a good increase too. some days the green and bitcoin markets have reached $ 9700, meaning that it has almost returned $ 10k after nearly 2019 has been difficult to move up. while the increase of etherum by 2.88% is very positive for etherum, meaning that there is no decrease in price that allows it to the lowest value before etherum 2.0 is completed. in 2019 Ethereum tried to go back to the bull trend, but only reached the price of $ 360, and that made me sell there, because the price failed to break the resistance, maybe 2020 could return to $ 360, and maybe if price broke it I would buy back
