My personal thinking is that Bitcoin will gradually increase in 2020 so Bitcoin investment will be the best option for short and long term plans. Ethereum and Tron are also good coins for long term holding.

That is still not a sure thing, the year of 2019 was a positive year for bitcoin regardless of the final 6 months which were negative but if this year is positive as well then this means that most likely a bull run happened and I really think that cannot happen until 2021 once the effects of the halving are more clear, the recent recovery in the price we saw was good but now we are seeing that we could see a retracement during the next days and if people fall prey of FUD the price could go below 9k in a heartbeat.

 Ethereum went up a lot, everyone was expecting a later stage bull from ethereum so I would say it is not a guaranteed investment anymore. We knew it would go up and thats why it was a good investment back in the day but now that it is already high, do we still think it will go up or do we think that it already went up and it may not go up any more? That is something we may never know, maybe this is all it increased or maybe it will be 500+ dollars, we are not certain about it. I would say for 2020 ethereum could be one, plus eos looks like a good one, tron looks good, bnb looks good, those are the only ones I am happily invested in right now and I am not selling them any time soon. Of course there could be smaller ones that I might be missing out on.

Making your own due diligence is a must and something that must be done by anyone that is serious about investing money in this market, but I disagree when you say that that only new coins must be selected as investment options, the failure rate of new coins is above 95% with many of those coins never turning a profit, you do not want to lose your money in those coins when bitcoin is so close to the halving, it is way better to just invest in tested and solid coins with good reputation, it is true your profits are not going to be as good but if you invest for the long term your chances of making some profits are very good.
