First of all if you're in profit with your altcoins portfolio simply take profit and move on, if you're in loss then probably you would like to wait for a right time it's all up to you. We can only estimate about the market nobody knows what kind of situations are ahead positive or negative it's all mysterious.

When bitcoin reaches $10k, for me it is the right situation to trade in the short term because the market is green, and when bitcoin goes through a slight correction it is a discount situation for altcoin. Maybe in this decline because of the effect of Warren Buffet who said on CNBC TV does not have bitcoin even though before he was staying up late it had bitcoin so the price went up but after saying that on CNBC TV the price of bitcoin was getting worse.

f bitcoin is going for a huge pump then usually people usually sell their alts to ride the rally but this time around it is a waiting game to see how the market will react.

It is really a waiting game and actually we have been waiting for 2 years already and we are still here, soon for sure we will be able to sell this, and for me, it doesn't matter if I have to wait for another year as long as the project that I am investing with are still here continuing to develop the project.

Think the time to sell just passes, so if you're selling now, you're not doing it anywhere near the highs alts can pounce on if they get their act together. Selling now just leads to more dumping, before alts all realise bitcoin is way ahead of them and then go on another moon rally.

Old patterns doesnt guarantee that it would happen in near future or on recent time.We cant conclude yet if there were no alt bullish movement either post-halving or pre-halving.
Dealing with alts will depend on a particular person where if he can risk up on holding or accumulating alts while we are approaching halving then its his choice.
I cant make any conclusion if its bad or a good idea because no one can predict on how the market would move into those times.There are only two ways which is up or down

Not alts are at the bottom few are performing like ETH, TRON etc... And yes I agree that it's not time to sell alts we have to wait for few more days. There is a lot of expectation that after BTC halving the price of alts too will go up and there are possibilities as well, holding right now is the best option as of now.

Doesn't matter if you are bigger fool in the short term, it all depends on how much money you are invested in and how much you need in the short term. If you are an investor with a lot of money on an altcoin and you can even afford to buy more when/if it goes down and you will not need that money anytime soon, you are not the bigger fool, the bigger fool is the guy who made short term profit but lost in the long term.

However, if you do not invest too much and you may end up needing the money at anytime, you should focus on the short term gain and that is understandable for you. So who does what all depends on the person, every move is right or wrong depending on your own situation and not on what you do according the general public since everyone's moves are according to their own finances.

Presently if you are holding any altcoin and you keep seeing some not too bad growth I suggest you start taking the profits and buy back when price goes down, this will surely happen because once Bitcoin loses value other coins will revaluates, no one can predict the future so it's better to keep taking profits

Bitcoin is the only investment I believe in this time and certainly will not sell because this year Bitcoin can completely reach the new ATH. don't just look for halving mate,check also the chance of buying low and selling High,we can sell now our altcoins and buy back soon .if we did this movement the time OP made this question/i think many of us are in profit now because look at the value now,almost all the currencies even bitcoin is red blood and 5-10% lowered price compared weeks ago so if the question will be answered now?no this is the time to Buy more.

I think that new coins can grow even in a bear market, and the top altcoins only in a bull market. But their growth can be said to be "guaranteed" - they are known to everyone and when new users come to crypto in the bull market, in any case they invest part of the money in top altcoins.

Do we still have new coins that are promising, i am not aware of those, the top alt coins will move up in a bull market but it is hard to imagine that we will be having a rally anytime soon in the alt coin market. Right now what we see is that the top alt coins move along the bitcoin market and that is my expectations that the top alts move along the bitcoin market.

As can be seen from today's charts, if the market is seriously moving, then all the coins (both top and new) are moving in one direction. As for specifically new promising coins, I am also not an expert in this, but I think they exist. But we learn about them after they will established themselves.
Your strategy is good and i can say that I also adhered to it, but today's fall and bad news from the global economy convinced me to sell about 50% of my crypto.

I guess you are right, the prices of the altcoins are getting down and down. This is the perfect time to buy more or I should wait until its stop declining the prices in the market.
