What the shit is happening in CMC?

I have moved out from there, i thought that their their exchange liquidity addon was step on the right direction but not removing those fake volume exchanges is an insult to real exchanges. I am hoping that people move out from coinmarketcap and there will be some new alternative that rises the bar on standards when listing coins or exchanges.
 

Coinmarketcap has always been absolute shit.

That's why I use platforms like Bitgur and Coingecko to get a more accurate picture of what is going on.

I actually think people should just boycott the website. I mean look at KickToken, apparently it has a market cap of $500 million with a daily trade volume of just $1m on trash fake volume exchanges.

That's a god damn joke. CMC should automatically hide tokens with such a ridiculous ratio unless the user manually chooses to show them.

CMC lost in credibility when shit exchanges ranking on the top list. Recent liquidity is looking not satisfactory. If you will compare between coingecko and coinmarketcap. Binance top places exchange according trust score but cmc liquidity hitbtc (wash trading) number one exchange. Bibox exchange top 16 but poloniex & KuCoin 18,20. This is CMC lquidity how credibility. Coingecko research is more efficient than cmc.                    

You are definitely right! Even CMC liquidity is not honest enough like the Coingecko. I can't imagine how CMC ranked up hitbtc exchange in the top list! We all know Hitbtc is a fake, wash trading exchange, the real volume is very poor there, they should be stay out of the top ten exchange. This is really shameful behaviour from Coinmarketcap.

Some people don't believe any coin that listed on coinmarketcap. During Q1 2018, coinmarketcap listed coin pumped huge. I think liquidity options didn't attached properly that's why shit exchange is in top rank. By fake volume any shit exchange can make top rank only liquidity option can stop it.

CMC is no longer reliable ever since. They have listed scams and faked the volume of some exchanges and I think this is not the first time they've done this kind of ranking up.
There are alternative market cap sites if you don't trust them anymore but I think they'll remain the top crypto market cap site.

That sucks i know. Couple of months ago i also created a post about same topic. Here
They added liquidity option for solving those problem but i don't thing they gave us proper solution. Many people think that they take money from shit exchange and showing them as a top exchange with fake volume.
My opinion stay away from CMC. Trade your coin in popular exchange which gave you so much protection with legal trade volume. Otherwise you'll lose your asset because of those hypocrite things.

Lol that's not  theonly the scam exchange site too but there are a bunch of scam exchange sites that already manipulated its volume on CMC must be removed from there to make CMC becomes a healthy site again.
CMC was blatantly changing everything based on the order that has already made by those crap exchange sites.

Coinmarketcap is known for manipulations for years. They do list your coin or exchange if you pay them and I heard top ranking will be more costing as its top rank holders will attract investors or users more easily. Overall, coinmarketcap is losing its credibility which must be a worrying sign for crypto space.

We should not make any decision based on what we do see on coinmarketcap but I am not saying stop visiting it. You may use them for the purpose of references and nothing more than that. Also, there are lots of alternatives are available for coinmarketcap nowadays.

You are really serious because so far CMC will never doing that. CMC have their own way to analyze crypto with all information that users need, everything they share is depend their own opinion, as users we only need to check with real condition on market. There's no trusted site because information can change in second, don't blame CMC because of that, they only want to help with their own way. CMC already have reputation, if goes wrong you only need to contact them and say your opinion so they can evaluate their works.

It is very alarming to hear such news, especially related to trusted global sites & displaying complete data about crypto such as CMC sites. if something like that continues of course it can reflect their bad image to the public. but I personally don't really know whether it's true or not, it's important for anyone to always be vigilant and also use other sites like Coingecko.

You can go on WAVES or ETH right now and create a token in about 10 minutes (let's say you take that long to figure out a name and the supply).

Now go on an exchange somewhere and fake the volume. Shall we say you're willing to burn $100 in fees to trade back and forth and create orders on 5 exchanges for about 1 sat per token, trading several millions?

Yes, only in this case it's not the coinmarketcap site that we can't trust, but the P2PB2B exchange that we can't trust because the exchange often creates fake volumes, making people who don't know it to be victims of P2PB2B.

Stopped using CMC myself. Ever since they introduced the "DATA" alliance thing, it gets worse - they essentially create a walled garden that only they and their so called "partner" exchanges get to represent themselves.

Case in point:

I don't think many are aware of this, but take a look through their list and you'll understand what I mean. CMC is absolutely greedy and full of crap these days. Anyone who is willing to pay their way up can get to the front page. Shameful.

CoinGecko, Cryptocompare etc don't have such nonsense. I personally use CoinGecko all the way because they have really good clean UI, great support if you have questions. They do things fairer and are transparent (see their circulating supply breakdown for ERC-20 tokens). So much work goes into what they do and I think they deserve more recognition than CMC in every way.

In my opinion, after seeing events like this, I think CMC is no longer a reference to see the development of coin prices or exchanges at CMC. I think they just want to earn money without caring about other people who refer to their site to invest. it would be better if there were decisive actions against them so that the confidence of the crypto world would not go down.
