Can someone from developer team pleas make small update to BPIP extension and change icon and links from Ninjastic to Bitlist? Everything still works but I am not sure ninjastic links will be up much longer, and it fits better to make official Bitlist logo update.

With the existence of a new Policy on SigBan for Members who commit violations or posts that are below the quality standards of the forum. According to the thread created by nutildah Hello! If you are the recipient of a recent signature ban and would like to appeal it, please use this thread to make your appeal. (I've been given the ability to issue signature bans). Your ban was issued because your recent posting habits fall below forum standards of quality. Substandard posting habits considered in the decision to issue the ban include at least two of the following: - Unoriginal or low effort replies, including inappropriate use of AI content. - Repetitive, previously-expressed or generic comments that don’t add value or encourage conversation. - Consistent burst posting (regularly writing posts less than 10 minutes apart). - Off‑topic posting or shallow engagement (doesn't provide insight, analysis or perspective). - Posting in principle for signature campaign payment and not for the sake of contributing actual discussion. If you believe your signature ban is incorrect or you've made some improvement to your posting habits, please feel free to explain your case below. BPIP needs to update BPIP Extentions To mark Users who have been subject to temporary signature bans, according to the updated list on https://bpip.org/TempBans website. That way it will be easier to find out whether the User is affected by a temporary signature ban or not.

BPIP needs to update BPIP Extentions To mark Users who have been subject to temporary signature bans, according to the updated list on https://bpip.org/TempBans website. I was surprised to see the that much users on the list already. Someone even got sig banned until 2029, lol (it's an inactive account though). That way it will be easier to find out whether the User is affected by a temporary signature ban or not.
I'm not sure if this info is up to date, but based on this thread, it seems like sig banned users can somehow still display the signature and avatar when sending a PM. It might actually help if we can determine a sig banned user without having to visit their profile. Why does a user have 3 different types in the signature space when temporary banned? 1. In DM, the signature is displayed. 2. In post, nothing is displayed. 3. In the profile page, a message with the ban duration is displayed. Note: this is not a temporary ban (in which case the user can't post or PM), it's called a signature ban. I didn't know this. I guess it's oversight and PMs are forgotten. I also didn't realize signature bans aren't shown under posts, it would be a good deterrent for others to see signature bans out in the wild.

I was surprised to see the that much users on the list already. Someone even got sig banned until 2029, lol (it's an inactive account though). Sig bans were also applied in the past though it was something not so common. I'm not sure if this info is up to date, but based on this thread, it seems like sig banned users can somehow still display the signature and avatar when sending a PM. It might actually help if we can determine a sig banned user without having to visit their profile. I believe it's still the same as before otherwise Theymos would have updated us about the changes. I think it might be a good idea to bring this up in meta or bump that old thread for visibility. I however think the reason he left the signatures of banned accounts intact for only PM is because they are viewed at a personal level and not public like in posts

BPIP needs to update BPIP Extentions The BPIP extension also need a check/fix/update for the Earned Merit. I've noticed when I've counted the votes for the Pizza Contest, just because of time issues on my side I write this late. On later pages, or further down when the "All" page is opened, the Earned Merit sometimes just shows no value. It may be related to the fact that opening a bigger page does a bunch of calls and maybe some flood protection kicks in, but then a kind retry mechanism in the extension could help. Of course, it might depend a lot on how many people actually use this feature; I myself I use it seldom. So the fix is far from urgent, just it's good to know about it. PS. If this has been already reported, sorry, I've missed that.

ibminer, is BPIP down right now? The site is non responsive, getting a "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" error and the earned merits, BPIP rank are all also missing from the extension. Everything suggests it's DOWN! And this is not the first time something like this has happened with it, I hope there aren't any serious internal error/damages anywhere.

In my place it was all normal and there were never any problems. If there is a "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" error it usually occurs when your device wants to open the bpip site, but the server takes a long time to respond and eventually disconnects. Usually because it is caused by Internet problems, because of firewalls, because of browser cache or DNS, VPN or Proxy Interference and finally because of Website Down.

Maybe it's your internet issue ? Because after 14min from you right now I am checking it and it working smoothly, even I browse bpip.org and the used the extension as well. Also I have checked the isitdownrightnow where it don't show any down on recent time.
By the way can you share me what's this ? Is it the score of postflayer ?

Usually because it is caused by Internet problems, because of firewalls, because of browser cache or DNS, VPN or Proxy Interference and finally because of Website Down. I'm exactly not sure what caused this. I can access all the other sites just fine. Youtube is open in one tab (playing musing), bitcoincointalk is open in another tab (currently writing this comment). Let me make a quick restart of my PC. Update: Found the root cause of the issue! I didnot know a simple time zone can mess up the whole system. Apparently, my time got fast by 1 minutes. After syncing it again, it started working. Thanks taufik121

Hello OP, I have a recommendation that may help many users if you add it to your BPIP extension. When we read posts we often see users mentioning other users without providing their profile links. I would like you to add a feature to your extension where whenever we select a username an icon will show up and by clicking the icon it will take us to that users bpip profile. This would be very helpful because many times we have to copy the username go to the bpip page and search for it to view the profile information which is quite you know. I think it would be useful although I don't know if everyone else feels the same way.

Some may represent a word in the conversation, so the insert link can give a different interpretation. Also, users often write someone's username, but a typo happens or maybe they just spell it differently in their native language, which eventually this plugin would not be able to recognize.

You are actually right that some words that look like usernames are not actually username and sometimes typo or spelling mistakes happen. My idea didn't mean that all possible names would automatically become clickable username. The option would only be visible when a user deliberately selects a piece of text. This is how many extensions already work. - If someone just writes a normal word nothing will happen unless they select that word.
- If there is any spelling mistake the extension won't find a match so no icon will be shown.
That way the risk of a wrong link is reduced a lot. In your case would this feature actually be useful?

That way the risk of a wrong link is reduced a lot. In your case would this feature actually be useful? I remember reading from a forum member, who is developer btw (can't remember the name or thread), that relying on username for primary identifier (word/text/character/string - whatever u call that) is not always preferable for them. When working with larger database, it may create complications in some cases as there can be similar usernames, unicode, case or normalization related problems, identical words, name change etc. So instead of usernames, they prefer UID. Because it can be totally unique and more stable and easy to work with. So the idea you are sharing might be helpful, but implementing it is kinda hard imo. But again, I'm sharing this only from a general pov, not from an in depth technical point of view. Nor it is coming from someone who has experience on this thing. But before making this comment I did however made a couple of searches, asked a few questions here and there, and most of them leaned more towards uid. I'm not saying it can't be done or anything, it can be, but do you think it's worth the time or effort? 🤔 In this particular case @ibminer would know best. Sometimes I think we are becoming tooo lazy. It only takes a few seconds to copy the username, paste it into BPIP and check. But here we are discussing whether these steps can be skipped of not...( sarcasm intended)
