And we aren't planning to stop the promotion anytime; we're even planning to hold more seminars to help people know about bitcoin.
That's indeed a good news. Spreading some words about bitcoin by holding a seminar will definitely encourage other people to join in cryptocurrency world. But, is it a free seminar or what?

Now, one of the advantages of this Bitcoin ATM is that anyone who doesn't know what Bitcoin is and sees it would ask what the machine is used for, and from there, it just keeps spreading!!! Watch the video here to see how it works.

There is just few Bitcoin ATMs in our place, and honestly I don't even use bitcoin atm. It's not because I don't want to or I don't know how to use it but as I have said, the accessibility is not convenient since it is far from my place. It wasn't yet spread out within my country unlike to the other countries.

BTW, What progress is happening in your country? If none then try doing more in favour of bitcoin (for countries that find bitcoin legal).

When it comes to the bitcoin progress in my country, it is still in a "developing" stage. Meaning, it is not that well accepted nor banned but majority of the people doesn't aware of bitcoin. Well, there are Merchants that accepting btc in our country, but it's still few and does not increase people awareness about btc.

In my country, I've heard that there's already a Bitcoin ATM however I haven't really seen one in person. When I first heard about this similar news, I got excited and happy at the same time because I can see that Bitcoin is starting to gain attention here in my country. But after some time, I don't know if the number of bitcoin ATM increases.
Overall, it's a slow step towards mass adoption. I'm just glad that cryptocurrency is slowly gaining attention here in my country and they're trying to give crypto a place here.

in my country its been many years since the ATM's has been Installed but still there is no clear stand from the government towards Bitcoin, they are just reminding the people to invest at their own risk as cryptocurrency is risky(according to them) but they are not banning or stopping people from doing investments here.

The presence of a bitcoin ATM does not mean that the adoption of bitcoin has grown, although if we look at this time almost every country already has a bitcoin atm machine but unfortunately bitcoin users rarely use this machine to make transactions because the costs are higher than using other exchanges and there are also other shortcomings in bitcoin machine atm.

Not exactly true. Bitcoin ATMs are popular in Europe & the US but not other continents.

you missed to tell us in which country you from so we might have idea on what is your country status about Bitcoin but its Ok what is important the adoption your country is having now.

If you continue reading further you'll know where does OP live.

With that said, I believe the number of merchants accepting Bitcoin is a better metric to judge this adoption thing.

Lol, your perspective tho. However, it is clearly adoption because if it is not being adopted by the people in the country, why then would someone bring a Bitcoin ATM?
Well, I believe that an analysis was done and observing that people are moving into cryptocurrency, hence the step was taken.

I've probably used the wrong words and made it look like I see this new ATM installment as a negative thing. My bad.

What I meant is that I wish there were more merchants working on implementing Bitcoin rather than installing ATMs. As I've posted earlier today in another thread, ATMs usually take significant % as fees, especially for withdrawals, which is a huge drawback especially for a not-so-good economy like Nigeria's. I've looked up the ATM but I can't seem to find the % it takes for Buy & Sell at the moment, if you could find this information it would be awesome. Just wanted to compare the % to those I find in my country and around Europe. Smiley

The high % for withdrawals makes it very inconvenient for the poorer investors to sell their BTC, because they'll look (and I think everyone will, not just them) to maximize the total sum they'll end up with in their pockets. Hence, I'm thinking the economically disadvantaged countries such as Nigeria and Venezuela need a way to handle BTC with a % as close to 0 as possible. One way to do this is going for online exchanges. On the other side though, it just came into my mind that ATMs can be used to sell BTC when you're in an emergency.. so it's got both advantages and disadvantages.

My apologies for the words used. It seems that I fuck up my statements due to the words I use way more often than I should.

That's not an issue, I've been there before. I guess your pount happens to be more explanatory than earlier. Thanks!

Get a wallet and move some BTCs, here's mine: [12GZz7hegu8VCkJYHSuP3WTXg7LGXgL1vT]

Congratulation,  nice achievement 😁
In my country we already have several Bitcoin ATM and recently state owned Post started deal with one private company.
They are offering now crypto exchange in all main post offices in the country 😁
Also,  our merchants can use now app and accept payments in btc.
We are going forward!

This is a great one for the bitcoin community at large and also a good innovation in your country. How has the reception been so far this innovation has been implemented? Also have you used the machine yet or anticipating to use it soon. I'll also like you to share how your experience was when you use it. A big part of the bitcoin supporters are yet to experience how a bitcoin ATM works due to their country bitcoin regulation and economy and are looking forward to experiencing it in other countries or hopefully things changes in their country in regards to the current bitcoin policy they have.

I will take this opportunity to vent. In my country there are hundreds of young people using computers and smartphones, but unbelievable that these hundreds of young people from my country prefer to spend the whole day on whatsapp, facebook and instagram than try to investigate things about politics and investments (who knows, they might know about bitcoin and blockchain ). I can't understand why the heck young people in my country prefer things like facebook and instagram and have never heard of things like bitcoin

In my country there are many crypto enthusiats and bitcoin users especially among the young generation.
The main problem is there is no clear legislations regarding the use of cryptos. Therefore, no one would take the risk of buying a bitcoin ATM as it can be seized by authorities.

You got this one right.
In my almost 3 years in crypto, I haven't seen any ATM machines here in my country where you can withdraw direct cash. Bitcoin here is neither legal nor illegal so there's really no clear situation in Bitcoin when it comes to the law which I guess stops ATM investors to further push ATM projects in the city. There's an option to withdraw BTC to fiat in banks though, I think there is one bank that offers this and so far my friend uses it until now.

Well I would be pleased if there would be more ATMs here in my area, but that isn't the thing that comes into my mind when I am looking for widespread adoption here in my area. I can see that a proper programs should be implemented for people to be aware and learn the true nature of Bitcoin, because it seems like many are having the misconception of Bitcoin of being a ponzi-scheme, scam, and -insert any types of scams you can think of-. I think people need also the knowledge of its economics, how mining works, and what is Lightning Network. It would be pretty hot topic to talk about to be honest.

Great to see your country is supporting bitcoin and that people are working hard to make each other aware of crypto currencies, its usage and advantages. True, when someone sees the ATM, they will be curious about it and will eventually get to know about bitcoin. Seminars are going to help too. But keep everything basic. If you go too in depth, they might end up losing their interest thinking that it is too complex. And also make sure you make people aware of the laws regarding crypto currencies (like tax on gains and reporting to authorities).

Which location of Nigeria did you exactly get this from? Nevertheless, it is a huge plus to the people in this region which provides the easiest means of exchange. We are getting there gradually

I think that machine is in Lagos Nigeria, I had seen the video. What we need more in Nigeria is to hold quality seminars and not the ones that tend to promote exchanges and their coin. In Nigeria, we have some groups going about selling fake coins to the innocent we need to tackle that.

Glad to hear this news, however, slowly adoption will definitely continue and with the drive to continue to promote bitcoin then of course it is something that will have a good impact on the growth of adoption in every country. Maybe it would be better to make a breakthrough to provide alternative payments at each trade center because that way there will be more people who are curious about bitcoin and of course with the many adoptions made in many sectors it will be better because to do the promotion at least have to have the right target.

Wow! That's cool if you'd ask me. Well, I never knew about bitcoin ATMs let alone know that some countries have "several" of them.

Actually, I haven't used it yet; still anticipating. However, the ATM location is distant from my exact location (maybe an 8 hours drive). But if I get to use it in any way, I'll still give a review based on what I experienced.

I think that is a good decision. You could commute or drive there and give a review of it. You could share your first experience with it not only with the members of this forum but also with the people that living near you. As you said, it is still far from you and that could mean a lot of people around you do not know what bitcoin and crypto currencies are.
