The problem with social media is it creates a potential backdoor on details to accounts. As a person thats never posted a photo I an grateful my connections are a little less connected to me. Sucks we get people so desperate to scam or leach off others work.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

As the crypto community become smart, scammers are not just sitting there. They are making new plans to scam people. Recently a smart scam idea they whelp and that is youtube live streaming! Lots of people are falling those scams even one of my crypto mentors shared that link to participate!

Scammers are hacking youtube channels which have at least 10K subscribers to 80K! Then they collect some famous crypto meetup or interview videos! Later they make live streaming with that downloaded video, and announce a giveaway of 100K BTC or 100K ETH, BCH, XRP and so on! Can you imagine how smart this shit idea is? However, at the corner or left side of that live streaming they add a live transaction banner where you can see that if you send 1 Ethereum, you will get 5 or 10 Ethereum instantly!

If you ever fall in that trap means you are done, you fall in the scam and lost your money forever! Guys, be aware, always check a coin's official twitter handle to verify every giveaway! Don't fall in the scam, let scammers cry and die!

Agree, it's better to do research in advance if we lose the coins we have. Giveaway reaches hundreds of bitcoin or ethereum I think it doesn't make sense because the amount is too big. I think we also need to be rational in this matter and no one wants a giveaway of hundreds of bitcoin

Scammers never run out of techniques to scam people. Always be on the look out. Never trust anyone. They are like wolves ready to devour you in whole once you get into their trap.
true, for beginners who see offers like that it's better to just ignore the offer sometimes spread through telegrams and emails sent together by fraudsters so if you find an email like that it's better to immediately delete it and ignore
dont take serious every scammers technique to steal our money, especially we must becarefull on airdrop program that request some eth amount to us to get their token. some people attracted in this strategy and finally scammed, we must understand how this scammers will work in market to trap  beginner.

Truth is, anyone that falls for such cheap attempt is indeed greedy.

Why would anyone send btc or eth to have it doubled lol.

In crypto currency. Apart from doing your own research.

Thank you for reminding us on that kind of scamming activities. To be honest also the mentor or the mastet on which you are seeing that is very good on a one thing just like in cryptocurrency still falls on some scam activities also because although they are veteran in the leagues still they are just a human who sometimes becomes blind because of the huge amount of money, so let us just be careful on what and where are we investing so that we will not be able to falls from this kind of activities.

This ain't smart, I mean, seriously? who would believe in such thing like someone is giving 100K BTC, ETH or whatever cryptocurrency that is, that is way too good to be true. The thing is, there is a lot of stupid and greedy people that always taking this bait and cry or complaint about their own stupidity and blame the scammers. Wake up guys, it is you own responsibility to figure out things that you wanted to do before you put it in the act, so that you won't regret anything at all.

If something is so sketchy, then back off, don't push anymore yourself in believing in stuff like that.

Lol if someone cannot identify that this is a scam outright then he isn't good enough to invest in any form on his own. I would suggest him to get a financial advisor .

I get that people fell for this scam during the early bull run because crypto was relatively new but falling for it now is pure idiocy.

Scammers are always trying to develop new methods to trick people. So we should always be careful and do research before taking any action. Especially, we should be very careful about promos that ask us to send coins like Btc or Eth.

Those scammers are trying to adapt with the situation but as investors and we must a step ahead those scammers in term to secure our money to make it will be more difficult or almost impossible to be stolen by those shitty scammers.
Always try to be more careful with any decision that we will take it for sure. Scammers are everywhere these days.

Stop at the very moment you noticed such messages being sent to you, don't fall into this kind of tricks as scammers really good playing with your emotions, most of those who fall from this are people who are unaware and those who are greedy thinking that they'll be able to get quick benefits
and didn't care to rethink about their actions.

The classic scheme. Scammers hack or buy accounts in social networks with a large number of subscribers or verification.
It's funny that sensible people will turn off their brains when they see that a popular account offers them a dubious deal.

Well, that was really alarming if that is the case we currently have right now because imagine one of the biggest social media platform which is YouTube wherein most of the advertisement about cryptocurrency project is being held and promoted was also been carried out by the hackers out there to brought up larger audience for more people to get scammed. Based on what you have mentioned even such thing is happening right now, if you are already stayed that long in crypto industry, you will not fall for such schemes of giving out such a massive amount of Bitcoin or Ethereum in exchange for giving out a single one and making it into double because that was just impossible to happen due to the reason that how can they make it possible doubling your Bitcoin or Ethereum? Where will they get such funds and be giving it out to a large audience? Well, we cannot blame people that still believes into that because hackers are really targeting into our temptation to easily get caught into such promises that can never be granted. If the hackers are getting smarter, then we must be getting wiser and getting more careful to get rid of those scams.

I am pretty agree with you, the scammers are getting smarter due to some tricks have become known in public and now they are trying to hack or scam people through some different ways, that's why we need to be careful always, just do not share your wallet key to anyone and stay away from getting free tokens ..ect. Plus, we can reduce the scammers rate when we report them in this forum and other ways.

I have watched some local videos from hacked users about this one and from what I noticed they are targeting "rising"/"decent" Youtube channels who are the most vulnerable since they are the ones looking for some sponsors, quick cash, and other promotional stuff that can help their channel grow. Based from their experiences what I can quickly summarize up is this.

1. They'll be targeting decent Youtube channels the ones who at least have 100k subscribers.
2. After that they'll try to contact that channel and invite him/her into some kind of paid activity.
3. The Youtuber will then be required to download some thing in order for that "promotion" to work.
4. His/her computer will be hacked.
5. The channel will then be in a state of transformation where they will delete all the hacked channel's videos, change the name, change the logo.
6. Then they'll be starting to do a streaming video of a fake giveaway.

If am to come across such I think the first thing I will do is to ask myself why a project will resort to this type of giveaway, where I send 1 ETH and they send 5 or 10 ETH to me, through asking myself this question I will be forced to check their telegram group for a good answer and since the YouTube account was hacked or maybe do not belong to them I will then find out the truth. And the truth is, no good project will be so daft as to resort to this type of giveaway; if a project want to do giveaway, it either comes through quiz, AMA questions, trading competitions and so on. So let us be very careful of the things that attracts us into parting or giving away our funds.
