Having Spent over 5 days on  the platform, before registering today, I've found Bitcointalk to be the best place to be in terms of gaining knowledge in relation to Crypto Currency. And I say thank you to all the forum members, whom are helping newbies like my self to glow.
Having been on here, And seeing various mentioned of the word Alt Coin and Shit coin, I kindly ask some members to elaborate on those words ( Terms ), Explain and differentiate.

"shitcoin" is basically used to refer to worthless alt coins.
Some BTC fanatics would go to the extent to call any coin, except btc, a shit coin.

Hmm, they are both actually. Sh*tcoins are also alts (new tokens oftentimes) but only with a bad future. How can I say that a coin already got a bad future? Simple, when the investors lose interest on it. Example, if a coin was enlisted on a particular exchange and of all its hodlers (whether a came from bounty, crowd sale etc.) decided to suddenly dump all of their assets at a certain peak then that's the time where that coin losing its worth. That's because investors exit already, for sure they will not come back and find another ICO to invest in instead. And the cycle repeats on and on. (This is just my own interpretation).

There are over 2000 altcoins on the market, not even 1% is useful, all others bring nothing news to the table. And the coins placed in the top list have no real uses, only bot and traders use it

You have come to the right place, Bitcointalk is where all started we have Bitcoin boards, Altcoin, Trading, etc. We can learn a lot of things here it is an all in one website and also we have a lot of experts here in different fields. I will differentiate them from my own understanding. Any coins created after Bitcoin are called "Altcoin" whether it is useless or not it is Altcoin. Sh*tcoin are those coins with no real use cases they have no purpose some have decent value and some didn't even have a decent volume. And there is still one left "Scam coin" you need to be careful about coins you are going to buy. Review each one of them they might be a fraud/scam.

The difference is quite little. Altcoins are known as ALTERNATIVE COINS to BITCOIN. apart from bitcoin, the rest coins/token that made up the crypto currency market are known as altcoins.
When Altcoins failed to deliver it's main purpose, it is termed a shit coin. investors loose there funds if they failed to sell out fast. it is believed that 70% of the tokens/coins avalible are all shit coins because they have no real use-case and value.

Well, that's a difficult question. Some people consider an Altcoin as a Shitcoin, while the same coin is a good Altcoin for another person.  

Despite of all the confusion, I've done some serious research and achieved to elaborate the most obvious characteristics of Shitcoins:

• The coin does not offer any important added value compared to existing coins.
• The coin was mainly launched to bring financial gains to the issuers. (most ICO Shitcoins)
• Excessive marketing praising the coin as a "new Bitcoin" while the technology behind the coin doesn't justify that bold term.
• Centralized coins that deny this fact by their misleading marketing.
• The price is deliberately manipulated by the issuers, by false technical promises or unfair token economics with coins, which are misleadingly deducted from the current supply (high number of tokens (often locked) for the team), etc.
• Coins that undermine the liberal-democratic idea of ​​Bitcoin. (centralized Shitcoins like XRP, Libra etc.)
• If the CEO is a proven liar. (Shitcoin SV)

Coinmarketcap has listed more than 5,000 pcs. currently while the real number is very likely far higher, I think it's way more than 20,000 if we consider also all the delisted scamcoins.

i haven't seen anybody who makes this statement without a good reason. despite what altcoin bag holders want you to believe, the biggest hardcore bitcoin believers believe in technology and would love to see new ones as an altcoin but since they keep getting disappointed due to seeing the same thing being copied over and over and the end result being weaker (more bugs) and be used only for pump and dumps they call all of them shitcoins.

Absolutely. CoinMarketCap simply lists every coin or token which is or was listed on any exchange, regardless of its legitimacy, use case, development, volume, or any other attribute. They openly state that they "over-provide" data (i.e. list a bunch of dead/shit coins):

Our view is that we should always over-provide data (as opposed to censoring and policing information) and let our users draw their own conclusions.

If you visit CoinMarketCap and click on "Filters" and then "Volume (24h), enter "$10" in the right hand box and click "Apply", it will still display hundreds of coins. Any coin which has a global daily volume of a few dollars can safely be declared "dead".

Shit coins are those coins who are made to scam investors and there lot of this in crypto world which we should be aware of,this shitcoin developers find number of ways to scam investors , Alt coins are made with some usable case which survive in long term gains value they are less in crypto world investors should find which coins are genuine and invest to make money
