ETH would be good but it is better to have 2 or 3 altcoins to hold/trade.
What actually saying is that it is safe to have more coins rather than having just one when it regards to altcoins. Volatility makes the market at risk and if you are only investing just one coin, it gives you a hard time recovering if ever you lose.

What I'm interested in is the profit to enter this market because this market is very volatile and certainly not always you can make a good profit. In fact, any investment needs to be carefully researched and has a reasonable investment strategy to ensure profit when participating. Personally, I only choose some coins in top 100 CMC because these are the coins that can help me to make a profit in the near future.

I think you better just hold bitcoin, but if you want to buy altcoin don't be all in at least you still have a few btc to invest. Invest in some altcoins on top of 50 coinmarketcaps. Never invest them in new projects before you do your research and believe the project is legit.

At this moment it's hard to choose what only one altcoins to invest because literally they have lot's that you can pick.
But if you still holding the 0.2 bitcoin that you have and wait to fully recover the value you gain money for sure.

After the negative statement made about the upcoming halving and the attitude of the governments and institutions towards privacy coins. Crypto investment has changed and some of the altcoins that are doing pretty good before now have poor performance.
I will just advise the OP not to choose controversial and centralized altcoin which BCH, BSV, XRP, NEO, EOS falls in that classifications but altcoin like ETH, KMD, NRG, DASH, MIXIN and BNB are good for ling term investment.

Keep your bitcoin instead, look at the present market condition, every top altcoins that are doing fine few days ago are now losing huge value, ETH is now at 223$ and Neo is back at 11$, the problem is it look like the price of Bitcoin will still fall further

I totally support what you said because ethereum proves to be the best altcoin ever since it hit the crypto market not because of ETH rank on capital market and with the upcoming system upgrade planned by the ethereum team there will more benefit out ETH investment.

The altcoin lost its value because the price of bitcoin declined. Don't you pay attention to ethereum prices in the form of bitcoin? the price is still stable, even when the price of bitcoin goes up, the ethereum price goes up even in the form of bitcoin. if you really want to change your investment into an altcoin, choose popular altcoins like ethereum, BNB, BSV, or others that have the potential to rise when bitcoin prices rise.

Yes it is profitable in bitcoin there is mo doubt about it but if i were to have that 0.2 bitcoin i will keep the 0.1 btc and then divide the 0.1 btc to invest in some good looking altcoins such as XRP and ETH for those two are also profitable because of its usage amd demand. So i'll have bitcpin, xrp and ethereum in my portfolio but i will make it more diversify once i see some potential and profit in other altcoins.

   He already has Bitcoin, I don't understand why he wish to invest his Bitcoins in some alt-coin. What he need to do is to keep
Bitcoins and to invest in Ethereum, in the first place, after that he can invest in other alt-coins.

Actually, there are pros and cons when investing Bitcoin—you may get a lot of profit from Bitcoin when you get the right timing of bull run but bull run doesn't always occur so you must have to be prepared for a long term investment. Patience is the key here to become successful in trading with your investment. While some altcoins may take a little time to start their bull market yet once their bull run is done it might be impossible to see some altcoins to recover again.

I don't want to give an altcoin to you because at first place, it is your own money and you should be the one who will decide which coin are you willing to invest your 0.2 BTC

If I have that amount of BTC and decided to invest it on an altcoin, Ethereum will be my choice. I have watched videos on youtube regarding the incoming developments of ETH including the changing from POW to POS to lowering the inflation to decreasing the gas fees. If this will be implemented in the next years (which I know it will), I'm pretty sure that this will help the price of ETH to rise. Invest it on ETH if you don't want BTC.

Most of the coins you list are growing thanks to Bitcoin's price increase so these old options are not recommended at this time. I think it should take time to look for new coins because these are very high potential coins and you will definitely make a big profit if there is good news. In addition, I am also investing in a number of long term coins in the top 10 but will sell when profitable.

sometimes, there are some people who see the potential for altcoin as greater than bitcoin. however, it looks like he wants to take advantage of altcoin which has greater potential than bitcoin right now.
if it was me, I would not exchange it for another altcoin. maybe the potential of bitcoin is greater, and there could be an increase in dominance like in 2019 ago. if I choose altcoin, the choice is the best coins that have the largest volume, and I choose ethereum if there are assets that I really have besides bitcoin.
