I saw this program before and looks like there are lot of people who participated on it.. Didnt research further on it coz it seems legit but I guess Im wrong.
Only stupid and greedy people participate in these programs. And I guess no one will participate in this program because now investors are more wary of scammers. Or most likely the project is faking the number of participants to deceive new investors

People should be highly cautious on believing something from a single social media platform.
I had a very bad experience on Telegram when I tried to troubleshoot a problem. As I placed my problem in the real group of the project, ton's of fake lookalikes of the official admins of the group PMed me and I almost fell for one till he asked me for a deposit to get the problem sorted.

But yesterday, they announced they are going to sell Bitcoin at a 50% discount to celebrate the halving.
They already showed their agenda here why and how in this world people would fall to such a lame scam method they are offering. Celebrating halving by simply throwing away profit already sounds hilarious. Those who really bought into this act must be greedy people if there were really someone who buy to them.
I remember what my mentor said before " If it is too good to be true it aint true" and that is always true.

How could newbies fall for such scams. There is no way to buy bitcoins at such a lower rate. Can you even imagine how many people would buy from any such vendor who is selling bitcoins for 50% rate?

I think that vendor would get bankrupt soon or either he would run away with the money invested by various investors and never return back. I am sure this is a scam but I doubt that not many people would understand this. They would just follow the hype and think that many people trust this project and they should do the same. The owner of such project might really earn huge money only because of the newbies present around. People should literate themselves about this and try to maintain distance from such projects.

It's unfortunate so many people get scammed with crypto-related things, but there's a limit to how much we can do to prevent people from getting scammed, though I'd say we're doing a very good job showing and explaining certain common scams on this forum. The single most important thing I tell people that want to get into cryptocurrencies is if something's too good to be true, it most definitely is.

Fortunately, most people usually start thinking more after being scammed for the first time, hopefully for a small amount of money. Scammers and scams will exist for almost as long as cryptocurrencies exist because of the unique nature of crypto. It's not going to go away anytime soon.

You are right. Scammers will not stop using cryptocurrency hysteria to trap newbies. A newbie should also not be easily provoked, use logical thinking, don't just make an instant profit as the main focus, everything needs a process. And it must be suspected, the easier the way is usually full of fraud.

But yesterday, they announced they are going to sell Bitcoin at a 50% discount to celebrate the halving. Can you imagine? 1 Bitcoin price is 8600 USD, people can buy by 4300$! I believe This is absolutely scam but many newbies already have fallen for that! As they saw MAPC has huge support in twitter, and they listed on CMC too.

What ? Selling bitcoin with 50% off? Is this a joke? Can't imagine it. I don't know if I will laugh or what. Maybe it is just a trick or another kind of scam to attract people since bitcoin is what everybody wants. I think it can be a result of another misunderstanding of other people to bitcoin and will add to the issue "Bitcoin is a scam".

To be honest we only  need to use our common sense to avoid being scammed.
I don't get why they still fall for such simple trick and it is so clear that it is just a scam.

Listed on coinmarketcap?  I don't know about this project, but I am wondering if the telegram is hacked or something.
You probably should report it to telegram or find their announcement thread on this forum(if they have any) and inform the mods about its activity on Telegram. I really wonder why such scams are not quickly dealt with on platforms of big companies

Newbies lack knowledge about this market and the scams in it but make no mistake they are greedy, they see the ads over the Internet about how you can make a lot of money in cryptocurrencies and they want to try their luck as well not understanding that even if you can get incredible results with cryptocurrencies, just look at the profits you could have gotten during the first two months of this year in which you could have doubled your money if you invested in ETH and many other altcoins, they think they can earn 10x or even 100x in a single month making themselves rich almost immediately and that is impossible, and it is because of that greed they become victims of scammers.
Advertisements are the source of most of the newbies entering the markets. There is no doubt that each of the human being has a greedy nature and he or she would go for any project where they might see excess profits. Newbies do not even know where to make research about those projects and they do not even care to check for feedback for such projects on the internet.

Even the platforms advertising such projects clearly mention the disclaimer that they are not associated with those projects and those even can be scam but yet many newbies go for those projects. Most of such people also invest the whole and sole amount they have in their accounts to have big profits and are the ones who are left with nothing in their hand.
This basically validates the old advice that says you should never get all the information about a product or service you are interested in buying from the seller since you are getting a very biased opinion about what you want to buy, however the greatest problem is that people are not only greedy but they are also incredibly lazy because they do not want to make any effort to learn anything about this market and its risks and with that kind of mentality it is impossible to become successful in this market.

I don't think that there would really be someone who would fall for this trick.
8K retweet and 9K likes doesn't really seem's big if you'll ask me there are so many fake accounts so this could easily be done by them.
And for newbie's I don't really think that they would easily be tricked by that who would even believe it?

of course beginners will be easily tempted, otherwise how could the hype or other tricks to trick them into continuing.
yes that's because of the lack of knowledge of people who join crypto so they are easily tempted by the lure of big profits.
for example the liza coin hype and halbing in the yobit market a few years ago, wouldn't that be one of the biggest hype, because my friend was also tempted by the promised profit.

That makes perfect sense. Unfortunately, the newbie doesn't think about it and is only interested in half-price discounts, when else will the opportunity come? even though they would surely regret knowing that it was fake.
So it is better for the ego to want to get profit balanced with the desire to learn before investing. Do not be sorry and finally can only blame the risky cryptocurrency ecosystem, even though it starts with its own mistakes.

Last week, I found an airdrop project in Telegram called Marco Protocol, the airdrop looked decent at the first stage, I earned 200 MAPC tokens and that was instant! But you only can withdraw from your MAP wallet when Airdrop program will end, that's good, I am okay with it. Their airdrop tweet got 8K retweet and 9K likes, so, you can understand how hype it had!

50% off announcement: https://t.me/MAP_POB_channel/87

I remember that one. I have to be honest when it comes to airdrops, there are so many that will act in shady ways and there are so many that are worth very little to almost nothing. The important part here is that you didn't fall for the scam and you saw through what they were planning. A airdrop scam often begins with hype (as mentioned in your post) and they use that hype to advertise their scam. Once people send them money, they often don't receive anything in return. It takes many different forms as well, so it's not just "selling cheap bitcoin". There are airdrops that will send you to fake MEW / KYC, airdrops that will ask you to pay a fee to receive your coins, and some that will promise silly things like to double your eth / btc by sending them eth / btc first.

Make sure to be careful out there when pursuing airdrops.

Promised profit is pretty much always a lie unfortunately. I would imagine that everyone would love the idea of having a 100% guarantee that there is such a thing as guaranteed profit in this space, but that's probably one of the biggest red flags when it comes to crypto since in crypto...there's no such thing as "guaranteed profit". 8k retweet is not really big. I guess you are saying this because of the little experience you have had in crypto. By the way, I do not think airdrop should be considered as good means of livelihood anymore. You have told us how many airdrops you realized but I much do that translate into if converted to dollars. To cut the story short, selling bitcoin half of the price is a clear indication of a fake project. sorry for the waste of time and energy. I suppose only gullible individuals will fall for the scam.

I also followed the MAP airdrop and this is really good, for BTC which is sold at a 50% discount I think this is also true, but there must be certain conditions to get it and not many BTC is sold.
I have also seen an exchange do the same thing and there is no problem.

Yes, and if there are good regulations on new projects, it will definitely be very helpful for project hunters and investors, because at the moment there are very many new projects that are unclear, so beginners who are not familiar with new projects will always be fooled by developers who are scammers.

There are no regulations that can stop scammers from scamming people. The only thing we can do is to be more careful when we plan to spend our money or time, on whatever. People are blinded with profit and it's only what they see after they lose some money they start to think more about everything.
We are all fed up with scammers and newbies. Sometimes it makes me tired to be careful all the time and to recheck everything you see, but it's what we need to do if we don't wish to end up scammed.

New scams are coming up everyday and most people who has no idea of ho these things are designed fall for it. i was meant to understand recently that new projects has resort to forks and halving as a new means of scamming people. what worries the most is that we will not see the end of this stuffs. it is time for regulation.
Yes, and if there are good regulations on new projects, it will definitely be very helpful for project hunters and investors, because at the moment there are very many new projects that are unclear, so beginners who are not familiar with new projects will always be fooled by developers who are scammers.
well indeed for traders do not have much experience to be able to determine whether the project is a scam or not, but at least you can participate in all projects and understand the concept of the project they developed so that when there are scam projects it will be easy to know because of that you will have an experience.
