It's just a matter of marketing and attracting people. The most important part of a project is still the source code, which will require a lot of work to rework the blockchain. This work takes a lot of effort and takes a long time. There are so many projects already on the market now and how to compete with them without a strong team with many creative ideas. In some cases, the development may be almost completed. And there are instances in which good projects failed, because of no fault of their own. Who knows? Even if you are planning to revive a failing company it is hard to resume them successfully as you need to take care of the debt they made, the base was a failure and so they were not able to make any profit and when it comes to dead altcoin projects the infrastructure would be virtually none and it is better to let go of that rather than trying to revive the project as you cannot convince any investor to investor in a failed project, unless you have enough capital to mess around it is always better to start from scratch.

Reviving a dead project is a quest I will not support anyone to embark on. The negativity attached to any dead project outweighs the positive side. Funding might not be the issue for you to revive one, but gaining the trust of investors, the community and lots of others who got rekt while supporting the project. And trust me, a lot of bag holders will be waiting for you to make it work so that they can dump their bags on you and move on. If not totally impossible, it won't be easy to revive any dead project.

I'd rather advise you to start a new and potential project and build trust on the investors because it might have bigger chances to make you profitable in the end rather than managing a project that has been abandoned already because of some serious issues.

I think you need to contact the developers of the coin, they are the one who know best about the coin.
But why do you want to continue the development of the coin and not make a new coin ?
You will have to announce it to the existing community if you want to restart the noin.

I believe there are a handful of dead altcoins that came back to life after 1 or 2 years. I’ve seen some of them doing that, surprising their community with the latest digest, new roadmap and future plans, etc. If you honestly believe that a dead altcoin would be brought back to life, try to come up with a new plan to regain the excitement of the community by coming up with new partnerships, strategies, etc.

It depends on the damage if the damage is only lite will you start all over again ? No because that takes time   . Op is not alone with this idea because i saw someone before that is talking similar thing .

There are really people that loves to revive older or dead projects , why not have them a chance ? they are more familiar with it than those who are newly built .

Despite the fact that it's not reasonable for one to continue from a dead altcoin project, because it would take almost same effort to start the process of a new one. One obviously needs to start by having a discussion and agreement with the dead project team or developer, the developer has to be carried along with progress and this could be tasking for the resuscitating developer.

Maybe you need to read about all of their presented information in their website, their ANN thread (if possible), their Bounty Campaign thread (if still posted), their Whitepaper, and their list of Managers and Creators. You should also talk to their Bounty Manager since that manager probably might have a connection with the Project Creators. Its actually nice to see somebody taking interest to revive dead Alternate Coins since creating a new one is harder.

Sorry, but the nature of the projects back in the current community is just the scammers starting their strategy, they understand that when they come back, we will be confused between believing and disbelieving them, of course, with a little initial benefit, they can deceive us again the way they did, hope and then disappoint. Honestly, I wouldn't encourage anyone to inspire others with such projects, this community has many better projects, these projects need a chance more than the dead altcoins

Don't, I haven't seen a dead project that was revived and do better, if always fail, this is crypto space for crying out loud, once a project failed it's gone, no one will trust such project again, it's better to spend your time and energy on your own project
