Reviving altcoin from dead is the riskiest one since it is hard to gain back confidence of people. Maybe perhaps "rebranding" it would work but just giving the dead coin a push without changing anything would only lead to loss of time and money as others said here. There are lot of projects that rebranded themselves but I am not aware of any project doing after change of team but since the old name and idea would probably give investors the same idea, it is best to rebrand the project and introduce with the project with some improvements in it.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I will strongly suggest you don't. Most of these projects already have a bad reputation with some of them defrauding investors and running away. Would you decide to take up such a project, you will most likely be faced with scam accusations leading to a bad investment and ultimately closure. If you must, you need to rebuild that reputation first, change the brand name and make huge partnerships with largely recognized and major players in the industry. This should bring back a bit of confidence and you can then build up from there.

In order to reanimate an abandoned project, there must be a good reason. But you should know that it will not be cheaper for you than creating a new project from the very beginning. And in addition, if you want to do it yourself, then your desire will not be enough, it requires a lot of money to implement it.

Hi,

I see lots of abandoned crypto projects with potential and lets say I am interested in one of them and want to keep the devlopment going. What should I do to achieve that?
Do I need to talk to the creators of the project?

Looking for some insight on it.

Thanks
What people look for most times, is not how long a project has been in existence, but if they are ready to deliver what they promised. So many projects you see these days wake up from slumber and are back to life is because they already have their products.
You can just speak with the on how it can be done. The product should be made ready and proper marketing should be put in place. They should also launch on an exchange with good volume.

I agree with the commentators above. I also think you need to talk to the developers. This is first and foremost. Secondly, you should not rely on the success of the project prematurely. Most of them just died without success.

I do not understand why you should continue the development of altcoins that are already dead, there are no benefits. Better to
invest in altcoins the potential, more profitable in my opinion. Don't waste the capital we have. Or we can also make our own coins
instead forward dead altcoins. But the choice is yours, if indeed you are sure you want to continue the development of dead altcoins.
Immediately contact the Altcoins developer team.

It was not a good idea to restart the dead project first of all the impression on the project is not good anymore then if you are going to restart it it will be look scam so stay away on any abandoned project it will not help you to became successful better start new project that's the best idea that you will have.

Developing a coin is a waste of time, you're extremely unlikely to create a coin that would be able to compete with any of the top coins, they are way too far ahead already. And why revive a dead coin - it died for a reason, it wasn't useful to anyone. If you really want to make a coin, better fork some of the existing ones, you'll have higher chances to attract users, because some would like to claim forked coins. But still, it will just be another shitcoin. Just because it's easy to make a coin doesn't mean that everyone should.

That is my thinking. Creating a coin so easily can also know it becomes a shitcoin. We should only use existing platforms like ERC-20 or in the future will be ConfluxChain (CFX). Do you know anything about CFX? I think it is a very good project because the working team is experienced doctoral professors. It is impressive that their working team is mostly professors and doctors. And those who have worked for major exchanges in the market.

The best suggestion is you should not. Even though there are cases that some projects have died due to lack of funds but have a very good potential concept, these are rare cases. Maybe this is true but not all are something like that in some situation. Maybe 1/10 projects will be is an estimation for it to be like that.

Name projects that have been dead horse then suddenly reactivated again and so far got success? I know there are but I cant remembered so many. Investors likely to check hows the history of certain project and they also consider why it should be revived. I remembered coti project is already an old project before it was not so good but since they have been launched or joined community voting and kucoin spotlight they have back again. But the revival is not something out of thin air.

and you said creating a coin is a bad idea , maybe he already knew that and thats why he only decide to revive a coin but still you said reviving a coin is still a bad idea  but it died not because its a bad project but maybe because team are lazy or busy or maybe lack of funding to continue it so still possible to revive it if the guy can supply the necesary needs .

I did not see anyone recommend this before so I will share. They used to be this project called Coin Janitor. And they did exactly what you are asking. They went around dead projects or inactive devs, and offered to buy out the coin and continue development. They actually did many before but I do not know if they are still around,,, ask them: https://www.coinjanitor.io/

It is really a waste of time, the project is dead and makes many investors lose money. If you continue to develop the project, no one will invest in it. And that development is completely pointless

Don't do it, this is completely waste of time and energy, it's very easy to build new tokens today, why don't you learn how to use ethereum ERC20 smart contract? It's better to do this than wasting time on something that's already dead

Of course you can fork any coin you want, how do you think Bcash and other forks came to existence?

As for reviving coins, there really is no such thing as "good project" in crypto space, there are thousands of coins out there and you can count on one hand all the coins that have some fundamental value. The rest are scamcoins/shitcoins, period. And if you look at good coins - like Bitcoin, ETH, XMR, you will notice that they have something similar - they are all developed by a big open-source community with hundreds of contributors. A single person or a small team of hobby developers can't make a competitive coin these days.

I have hundreds of dead altcoins in my ethereum wallet that I got from bounty campaigns and airdrops. It is the risk when you are in this field, from thousands of project only few survive and change the world.  Wink

I don't understand the point in trying to revive a dead project. Why do you want to carry on with the past luggage? A much better idea may be to start from the scratch. You are putting so much effort, and therefore you deserve a healthy amount of coins or tokens as premine for yourself. That is not possible in case you want to revive an old project. Let the skeletons remain in the closet. I would recommend staring from the scratch.

If you want to reanimate an existing but abandoned project, then it is obvious that the main thing you need for this is resources.
First of all, money, the more the better. Find a room, find the chapters of the project, redeem rights, organize work according to a new scheme, swap coins if necessary.
I don’t understand why you need this, because you can create your own project with such resources.

You shouldn't, it's a bad move entirely you will end wasting your time, I suggest you create your own idea and your own coin, once a coin get abandoned investors moves on
The project can still be work upon and be rivive again back to life like others. We have seen  projects that have failed in the past and the team abandoned for another, but later came back to the limelight of cryptocurrency. Many dead projects came back; alive back in 2017 and where made alive till date. Let encourage OP to get into the project and make it see like others. Its not good to be discouraged.

You can do it but will not be easy since the hardest thing is able to communicate the right person in charge of the dead coin and convince them to allow you to take over their coin. Even then, I think you shouldn't do it because there are all kinds of problems from a dead coin to sort out before moving on to continue to develop it.
