This is good information actually but now the user of opera has reduced.

Most people just use google chrome or mozilla even in the US most of them only use safari for browsing stuff.

And other than that OPERA has supported blockchain in long time ago, if I'm not mistaken they have a feature wallet on their browser.

I guess this is one strategy of Opera to bring back their customers?

Specially that cryptocurrencies are slowly getting worldwide attention, they have to jump on the bandwagon. To be honest, I'm an Opera user for about two years now, (on/off though), but I appreciate this kind of 'improvement' in my browsing experience.

Well it is great move from them it is a huge publicity for both opera and crypto.
Now they made it much easier to buy crypto for those who wants to invest in crypto or to start on investing.

Who uses Opera nowadays?
According to W3Counter,Opera has a 2.7% global market share when it comes to PC browsers.
They are not in the Top 10 list of Web browsers. Even Internet Explorer,Safari and Firefox are beating them.
I guess that Opera is the shittiest web browser of them all.I tried to use Opera once, but I wasn't impressed and returned to Firefox and Chrome.
Good for them,if they really want to adopt cryptocurrency payments, but I guess they will implement some fees as well,in order to boost their revenue.
I don't think that Opera will turn into a crypto scam, they are located in Norway.Scandinavian companies are trustworhty.Anyway,I will never use their wallet and browser.

I heard the news also although I have not use it before since there are many easy ways to buy cryptocurrencies. I know wyre and I have a good trust in them but I hope This won't turn out to another hideout for phishing scam and security compromise. I am interested not only about the conveniency in purchasing crypto but also the security and how safe the private keys of the users

Out of all the browsers out there, I can say Opera is the one doing most for the Crypto space, the rate at which they are trying to bring their users to Crypto is really encouraging, if you check most of their recent update you would see what I am saying, they now have wallet for users though I do not encourage people to stare their money on it, because hard wallet is more secured but it is a step in the right direction

Since it involves credit and debit cards, I will assume a KYC is mandated here?

If it does, I don't see any difference when buying through the local or global exchange.

Even Internet Explorer,Safari and Firefox are beating them.

On the desktop, I can't remember Opera beating IE and Firefox.

And on mobile especially back in the dominance of Symbian OS, I guess using Opera turned into a Handler version isn't counted as a legit stats since it was modified.

If there was a KYC-free open source wallet that allows debit card purchases, it would be amazing. I'm just kinda afraid to use debit cards now, considering the fact that we're in the middle of an economical recession. Smiley

Debit card purchases are big chargeback risks. I don't think that any open-source wallet will intergrate this option.

Well, I suppose it's another daily task for me; but I can track this stolen account of mine, and let Bitcointalk folks know that this 'IMZ' is a thief, untrustworthy.

The world’s first Web 3-ready browser just made it much easier to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum and spend it too.

Oslo – Opera was the first browser to introduce Web 3 capabilities and a built-in crypto wallet across all of its mobile and desktop browsers. The Norwegian company is now letting its US users easily purchase cryptocurrencies using a debit card or Apple Pay.

Easy crypto top ups are available in Opera’s flagship Android browser, its iOS browser Opera Touch as well as in the crypto wallet available in its desktop browser.

The integrated solution is available in the United States and Scandinavia

https://press.opera.com/2020/03/17/opera-crypto-wallet-easy-top-ups-us/

We need some positive news like this, I'm not a US citizen, however, I think this is another step to purchase BTC much easier using Apple Pay.

They are going to partner with Wyre - US cryptocurrency-brokerage firm, to enable crypto-purchases directly from their browser. They say that it is very easy and you can top up your crypto wallet in 30 seconds, but I don't know if that is true or not though.

Even though I am not a US citizen, to hear a news like this is actually surprisingly good and doubtful at the same time. We know that many Bitcoin users are also using Apple products. And Opera made the crypto transactions easily from person to person. This definitely increased Bitcoin's popularity and improve its image if used well.

However, we know that there are also loopholes in news involving the web. So I think crypto users would want to hear testimonies regarding this.

US is very strict in terms of crypto currencies so this is a good news to those who live in US so they can easily convert their fiat into crypto that they like to hold or use. Though there is already coinbase that is available in US citizen to buy and exchange crypto currencies but having a lot of option is good so the users can choose what exchange they like to use.

Most of the exchange or wallet that offered this kind of services will differ only in their service fee or transaction fees so it's better for the US citizen to choose wisely the exchange that will give them the less charges while offering the safest security for their money.

This is another huge addition to adoption and will make using Bitcoin and Ethereum a whole lot easier. It’s great to see. I’m sure others will eventually follow and thus increase adoption and the ease to get into Cryptocurrency. It won’t be long before we see competitors joining!

I once utilized a traditional Opera program from Java, Symbian to Android, iOS form! Be that because it may, the show has lost track and now i can not open up to them to stay utilizing them! I've seen this component quite while back, however it doesn't chip away at at my Android! At that time I did whatever it takes to not attempt excessively! during this way, I'm not so amped up for the news. Smiley Smiley

There is KYC with the use of credit and debit cards, even when most of us do not like that type of exposure. But the difference with Opera accepting crypto trades with local exchanges is that using Opera gives a wider publicity than the locals. This is a good development. I know it will cause more people to know about crypto currency.

Still, great news and I think a good move having this adaptation could easily help bitcoin or cryptocurrency. I dont really use this option but having this would be great, Opera should do more improvement comparing other browsers that already have a lot of crypto features.

I don't like KYC  either to this platform I just don't think that information should be shared just because we just cannot easily trust this company.

It might be difficult to exempt KYC with the level of transaction, I also think transaction using Apple pay or debit card exempt a level of privacy, buyers identity had already been exposed. Opera mini dont have the publicity and use it enjoyed 10 years ago, I might not see that volume of use they expect. They will also require advert on the browser. It is a good time to exploit investment of the stimulus fund in USA

So this is using Coinbase as the engine? That's very interesting,I've always wondered how much people exactly get "converted" to crypto with efforts like these, I know all effort is a positive effort, just would like to know the specific numbers behind Tongue
